Chapter 20 – Alpha Francis
“Sir.” The man behind the desk ignored the person at the door calling him. Well, not ignored exactly. He was so lost in his own thoughts that he wasn’t even hearing anything. “Sir?” Finally, the man at the desk jumped as the other man laid a hand on him. “Alpha, I’m sorry, I was trying to get your attention.”
“It’s okay David, what did you need?”
“Alpha, you have a phone call.” But before David could finish, the Alpha had the man by the neck and the Alpha was struggling to control his wolf.
“You are my Gamma David. I want no phone calls, take the message and let them know I will call them back.” The man barely nodded his head.
“Yes Alpha Francis,” the younger wolf squealed out and the Alpha dropped him and returned back to his desk.
“What has you all pissy that you must pick on the younger wolves?” Alpha Francis looked up at his Beta, Marcus, who was leaning against the door, a smirk on his face.
“Just the man I wanted to see; come in Marcus and have a seat.”
“Why would you want to see me? You can’t pick on me that easily.”
“No, and I shouldn’t e able to do that with a Gamma either, something I must fix but that’s not my problem at the moment.” Francis leaned back in his over sized desk chair that was needed to house his much larger frame. “I had a phone call earlier.”
“You’ve been on the phone a lot today, Alpha; what was so special about this one call?”
“Grayson and Dylan.” Marcus frowned at his Alpha and shrugged.
“I fail to see the problem.”
“When was the last time you time talked to either of them?” Marcus frowned even more and then shrugged.
“A long while. Again, don’t see a problem.”
“It seems that Alpha Anna and her mate are over in the States with Dylan and Grayson. However, it seems that Dylan is making plans for his Alpha ceremony.” Marcus’s eyes opened wide.
“You have got to be kidding. Grayson was born for that role and he wouldn’t give it up. Why is Dylan taking over it? And why is Anna there? She was close to Grayson but not to Dylan.”
“My questions exactly and why I need to figure out what is going on. You know Grayson like I do; you know he wouldn’t give up that role. And there is no way Dylan could over power him enough to take it by force. This means there is something else going on.”
“Did your source also tell you that Grayson found his mate, so for him to give up his spot is even more insane,” Marcus added.
“I heard. I also heard she’s one of the most beautiful ladies around.”
“So what are you thinking Alpha?”
“I will let you know when I had my spy report back to me. I sent off someone a few days ago when I caught wind of the rumor about Dylan. I should be hearing back shortly.”
“You don’t think Grayson would be behind those strange attacks do you?”
“No way Marcus; Grayson wouldn’t ever do anything like that. You know how he is, wouldn’t dare be evil and wouldn’t go beyond verbal fights unless he was pushed. And to do those attacks well, you know that had to be someone dark.”
“You mean like us?” Francis grinned at his Beta but refused to actually further comment on that.
“We just see things differently in our world than others do. We know that a pack is only strong because the Alphas is the most important person and everyone else knows that too.” Francis leaned back in his chair and was about to continue when David knocked and came in, a strange look on his face. “What is it?”
“You have someone here to see you. His name is Demonio.” Francis grinned as he waved Marcus away.
“Do send him in,” Francis told David and waited a few minutes for the God to appear.
“Should I be offended Francis, that you know who I am and I can’t make a show at showing you?”
“Nonsense Demonio. Your name isn’t widespread of course but there are of those who have walked the dark ways for a while and might know of you. As well, The General is a friend and there have been plenty of times him and I have been ruthless together.”
“So in other words, you have talked?” Demonio asked as he sat down.
“At times, sure. What do you need from me?”
“Power.” Francis wrinkled his brow as he stared at the God.
“I don’t understand. What power could you possibly need from me?” Demonio stared at the Alpha, trying his best on how to explain. These three beings that he was talking to had been ones that he had been watching for a while, ones that he believed would help him reach his end goal; control over everything, to be the superior God amongst these beings. Rather than start off there, Demonio went another route.
“I’m sure you have heard about the demons that have caused some havoc?” the God started off.
“Who hasn’t actually?” Demonio looked up at the wolf and grinned.
“I’m trying to control them but they are dying out on me way too fast and I need some added blood, some added power for them.” Francis leaned back in his chair and crossed his leg over the other as he thought about that.
“You need my blood?”
“I do, but first I would have to start with your pack to make sure the added blood will help like I’m thinking it will.”
“In a sense, you want to kill my pack?”
“I will need their sacrifice, yes.”
“And what do I get for offering them over to you?”
“You get control over all the wolves.” Demonio watched the confusion play out on the man’s face and leaned forward. “A war is coming, which is why I’m making my demons. I plan on wiping out the other God’s. And as such, will need help running the beings, like you would be a demigod and the power of such a being will be yours.”
“And then I have control over all the wolves?” Demonio nodded and he enjoyed the flash of darkness in the Alpha’s eyes. Those that wanted power and didn’t care the cost were always so much easier to work with. You knew what they wanted and in a way how to manipulate them. “With the exception of my Beta Marcus, you can have anyone and everyone in the pack.”
“Perfect. I will need them to go to Russia for the transformation and will need you to go as well.”
“Of course.”
“Now, with that out of the way, I do need you for something else.” Before he could go on, however, a thin man walked in, his mixed colored eyes landing on Demonio before moving to the Alpha.
“I apologize Alpha, I wasn’t aware you had company and David wasn’t around.”
“Don’t worry Trevor.” Francis shot Demonio a look. “I do apologize but this won’t be but a moment.”
“Please go on, I won’t pay any mind to you two,” the God said, leaning back in the seat.
“Right; what did you find out Trevor?’
“It seems Grayson is giving up his pack and yet it seems that Dylan still follows him, which was odd if Grayson isn’t the Alpha.” Demonio lifted his head up at that, the name catching his interest.
“What is this about Grayson?” Both men looked at the God, who merely lifted a brow. “Who is Grayson?”
“Grayson is a powerful Alpha of a strong pack in North America,” Francis said. “Although it seems like he is losing that pack for some odd reason.”
“What’s more Alpha, is that Grayson has two kids and when I was watching them, I swore they had witches powers and that one growled at me.”
“Impossible Trevor, babies don’t have any powers what so ever to do things like that.” But Demonio held up his hand, his mind racing now. Although he still refused to believe Fire and Grayson were together, he couldn’t doubt something strange was going on.
“I need you to see what is going on Francis, rather than go to Russia, you can go after. You need to go to Dylan’s ceremony.”
“We aren’t the best of friends,” Francis told him, almost wanting to laugh. Alpha ceremonies were something you could just sneak into unnoticed.
“Don’t worry, I’ll get you the invite, I just need you to go,” Demonio told him.
