Chapter TWENTYSEVEN-UNEXPECTED ATTACK
Antonio POV
I looked at my Uncle. My eyes bulged out of my head. A few minutes later, my office door opened, and my Aunt Alicia walked inside and closed the door behind her.
"Where are the girls?" Staci asked.
"Downstairs entertaining everyone," Aunt Alicia said.
I watched as she quickly stepped before my Uncle and wrapped her arms around his neck to calm his wolf. We all waited with baited breaths as my Uncle looked in my direction.
"The name of the Alpha of Blood Moon pack is Conrad Hart," my Uncle said as he held my Aunt closer.
"Conrad Hart? He was here at the Alpha meeting weeks ago," I said as my Uncle looked at me.
"That wasn't him."
"That was his son Conrad Jr," my Uncle said with a growl.
"I knew that little shit looked familiar, but I couldn't place where."
"Conrad has been after the Blue Eclipse pack for years."
"Jr was scouting out the pack for his Father," my Uncle growled.
"So, what does he have to do with us? Why was he here?" I asked, wanting to know more about this situation.
"Richard allied with the Blood Moon pack. Back then, Blood Moon had more warriors than Blue Eclipse."
"Alicia was the bargaining chip in their pact. Conrad wasn't the Alpha then and has always lusted after your Aunt for years."
"Fate changed everything when I found out Alicia was my mate and Richard heard about where my family was from. Richard backed out of the pact and made me the Alpha of his pack."
"Conrad was outraged and challenged me for Alicia. In the end, he lost and vowed revenge," my Uncle said.
"Was Uncle Richard stupid or just desperate?" I asked.
"Desperate," my Uncle said.
My eyes bulged out of my head after I heard my Uncle tell his story. Everyone was utterly shocked at the news.
"Since you and Aunt Alicia found each other, he still holds a grudge."
"Because he lost on making his pack bigger," I said, looking at my Uncle.
"That, and he lost against me in a challenge," my Uncle said, kissing my Aunt's forehead as she sniffled.
"Another thing most don't know is that the River Valley pack was a planned attack by Conrad," my Uncle said as everyone gasped.
"Conrad's mate Olivia was the daughter of the Beta, and he didn't want her. Because she couldn't benefit him like Alicia could."
"So, he hired rogues and planned the attack to gain their warriors and businesses, take us down, and make Alicia his Luna."
"But his plan back-fired when he ran into money trouble," my Uncle said as my eyes widened.
So, he was the other buyer who was fighting so hard against the banks for the land. I had many issues during the meetings, and he never showed his face.
"So, I have a psycho vampire who wants my mate for breeding purposes."
"A pissed-off Alpha who wants my pack and Aunt because he can't get over the fact that fate had other intentions," I said and looked at everyone inside the office.
"Son, did you ever wonder why your wolf was so much bigger than the average Alpha's?" my Father asked as I looked at him.
"What do you mean? I'm an Alpha, so of course, my wolf would be bigger," I said.
"You are of royal blood, son."
"The goddess blessed our bloodline so our wolves would have great strength and speed," my Father said. Being shocked was an understatement.
"Baby, now that your Father mentioned that when I first saw Ares, I noticed he was quite large for an Alpha wolf."
"Even bigger than my Father's and brother's wolves," I heard Staci say as I looked into her eyes.
"So, wait, Dad, what about Uncle Helio?" I asked my Father as he shook his head.
"Son Helio is an idiot."
"He thought he knew better than the goddess and abused his power as Alpha."
"So, she took away his Alpha strength. He's still an Alpha but just an average one," my Father said.
I shook my head. It was no wonder my family's pack was crumbling under his leadership, and I wondered why my Grandmother was trying to fix the pack.
I was about to respond when one of my warriors pushed at my mental block. I let my block down as his frantic voice filled my head.
"Alpha! Rogues and vampires are attacking us! North and East borders!" he said as I growled.
"Son, what's wrong?" my Dad asked as I placed Staci on her feet and rose from my chair.
"We are being attacked North and East borders!" I shouted as everyone scrambled from the office.
"Get everyone into the bunkers, now!" I roared through the pack link as we hurried downstairs.
Staci POV
When Antonio shouted we were being attacked, I immediately entered Luna mode. I followed after Antonio as everyone rushed out of the office. I was getting ready to go outside with my mate.
"No, my love, stay inside, please," he said, making me glare at him.
"I want to help our pack," I said, trying to push his bulky body out of the way.
"My love, please stay inside."
"I can't focus if I know you and the pup are out there fighting," Antonio said as I sighed and nodded.
He was right. I was pregnant and couldn't shift, but I could still use my powers.
"I can help from the inside."
"I can't shift, but that doesn't mean I'm powerless," I said as Antonio sighed and looked at me.
I watched his eyes get cloudy, and a few minutes later, Juliano came running up.
"You guard her with your life," Antonio told his Gamma as Juliano bowed.
"Yes, Alpha," Juliano said.
I looked at Antonio as he grabbed my face and kissed my lips passionately. Tears flowed from my eyes.
"Come back to me," I said and felt him wipe the tears from my eyes.
"I'll always come back to you, my love," Antonio said and lingered for a second.
I nodded and watched as Antonio, his Father and Uncle, Carter, Liam, and the two vampires ran out of the castle.
Juliano and I ran to help escort the women and children into the bunkers with Evelyn, Alicia, their daughters, and my Mother.
"I called your brother."
"He is sending warriors as we speak," my Mother said, and I nodded as we helped everyone into the bunkers.
"What do you need, Luna?" Juliano asked as Marcie and Monica ran towards us.
"You should be in the bunkers," I told Monica as she shook her head.
"I'm fine and can fight. My Father raised me to be a warrior," Monica said. I sighed, nodded, and turned my attention to my Gamma.
"I'm going to use powers to help the pack fight."
"I need a good spot to see where the fighting is," I said. Juliano nodded in understanding as he led us to the elevator.
When we arrived on the fifth floor, Juliano led us to the library. After we entered, he locked the doors and led us toward the side, where I saw a balcony.
"Here, you can see the north side and part of the east side of the pack lands," Juliano said, opening the glass doors.
I heard growling and fighting. I saw we mainly had taken care of the East side as I spotted Caladon, Lobo, and some of our warriors fighting off rogue wolves.
"Vampires!" I shouted.
"Vampires and rogue wolves?" Monica and Marcie asked.
"What the fuck are vampires doing here?" Juliano growled as Jackson flashed in his eyes.
"Their King is here, and he wants me," I said, looking to the North side. Juliano stiffened as his eyes glazed over.
"Rafael said Crescent Moon warriors just entered from the North side," Juliano reported as I nodded.
There were at least a dozen vampires and rogues. I spotted three giant black wolves tearing throats out and ripping vampires to shreds.
"Solaris, can you keep the pup safe?"
"I'm going to use my powers to help the pack fight," Solaris howled with pride.
"I got Ace."
"You help our mate and pack," I smiled at my wolf as I looked out again.
Juliano was right at my side, ready to pounce if anyone approached me. Monica and Marcie were keeping watch on the library door in case any vampires reached the castle.
I raised my hands and felt my powers crackling at my fingertips. My eyes glowed misty white as the air picked up fast and hard. Vampires and rogue wolves were getting knocked backward by the force of the air, giving our warriors the advantage they needed to rip out their throats.
I could hear their cries and screams, but that didn't stop me. They attacked and didn't expect the consequences of their actions. I felt the moisture in the air and smelled the rain coming, and I used that to my advantage. As the rain poured, I spread my fingers and made ice shards the size of baseballs and clasped my hands into fists, ramming them into the chest of the vampires.
"Holy shit," I could hear Juliano beside me as I focused on killing the vampires and rogue wolves.
I flicked my wrists as vines and tree branches attacked the vampires and rogue wolves. Their screams and howls filled the air.
"They're retreating," Juliano called out as I recalled my powers and my eyes cleared.
"Luna, that was amazing," Juliano said as I swayed a bit, and he caught me.
"Take it slow," Juliano said as Marcie passed him a glass of water. I gulped the water down and looked at my friends.
"Is everyone okay? Antonio? Carter?" I asked frantically.
"I'll check in," Juliano said as his eyes clouded.
"Staci, that was incredible," Monica said, holding my hand.
"I've never used my powers all at once," I said and panted, and Marcie wiped my forehead with a cold washcloth.
"Everyone is fine and handling clean up," Juliano said, making me sigh with relief.
"Solaris the pup?" I asked, worried about our son.
"He's fine. Just resting," Solaris purred, but I could hear her tiredness.
Abaddon POV
"Useless!" I shouted as I watched half my army of vampires be slaughtered by a pack of mutts.
The rogues Conrad had paid weren't much help either. I snarled as I felt the presence of two vampires.
"Well, things just got interesting," I watched as a tall, very muscular vampire with long black hair and purple eyes ripped the throats out of rogues.
"That's King Magnus," Conrad's brat of a son said.
"Hmm," I said.
I wanted to see how strong and organized the Blue Eclipse pack was. I scoffed. I saw some of the pack wolves fighting in both forms, doing fighting styles I'd never seen before.
I watched as more wolves came in from the North side, fighting off the rogues and vampires. I felt a surge of power. It was so raw and fierce that my cock hardened in my dress slacks, and my red eyes glowed.
"My bride was using her powers."
"Well, shit, things just got interesting," I said and looked back to the fighting. I watched as the air, water, and earth destroyed every vampire and rogue wolf.
"Well, my bride, it appears your powers are getting stronger," I thought as I looked at Conrad's brat, who gave me a smug look.
"Let's go. I've seen enough," I said and walked through the forest.
"But," The young wolf grumbled as I growled.
"I said let's go. Unless you want to be next on the bitch's hit list," I said as he shivered and shook his head.
The young Alpha quickly shifted into his shit-brown wolf, and we ran further into the forest back to the Blood Moon pack.
Antonio POV
As the fighting slowed, I watched the last few vampires and rogues run off into the forest as Ares growled.
"Carter. What are the casualties?" I linked my Beta.
"A few injured, no casualties."
"No survivors of rogues or vampires. How is your end?" Carter asked.
"Same. A few vampires and rogues got away, though," I said and kept the link open with Carter.
"Was that the Luna's powers I felt?" Carter asked.
"Yes, Staci helped out immensely," I said with pride as Ares puffed out his chest.
"Hey, that's fucking awesome. The Luna is kick-ass," Carter said, making me chuckle.
Knowing my mate and Crescent Moon helped turn this fight around, and I smiled. I must remember to call Seth and thank him for sending warriors to help.
"Alpha?" I heard Juliano's voice in the link.
"Juliano? How is Staci?" I asked.
"She's okay. Just a bit tired. We are looking after her," Juliano said as I sighed with relief.
I told Juliano about the situation and the causalities. Juliano said he would let the pack members know it was safe to head home and get Staci checked out by the doctor. I looked at my Dad and Uncle as they shifted back. I checked them for injuries as I shifted back and put on shorts.
"I'm fine, Filho (Son). There are just a few scratches," he said as I nodded.
"Alpha," I turned to the warrior as he bowed.
"My name is John Winters. I'm one of the warriors from Crescent Moon." I held my hand out, and he shook it.
"Thank you, John, for your help tonight," he bowed.
"No problem, Alpha Antonio."
"I will report to Alpha Seth when we return to Crescent Moon," John said. I nodded as he and the other warriors shifted and ran into the forest.
"Alpha Antonio," I turned and saw King Magnus and Roman walk up. I shook both hands and thanked them for their help as they nodded.
"We will report this to the vampire council."
"Abaddon must be stopped at all costs. I felt his presence tonight," I heard Roman say, and I nodded.
"I'll call the Elders in the morning," I said as Roman looked at me.
"Word of advice, Alpha Antonio. I wouldn't trust Thomas," Roman said as I looked at him like what the fuck.
"I'll call you soon," Roman said as he and Magnus disappeared into the forest.
I sighed and helped my warriors clean up the dead bodies around the field as we made six piles and set them on fire. I finally returned to the castle, and Staci was the first to run into my arms.
"I'm glad you're safe, baby," I looked into her eyes and kissed her lips.
"Thank you, my love," she nodded at me.
"Are you okay?" I asked and rubbed her belly.
"Dr. Scott checked me over, and the pup is fine," Staci assured me as I sighed with relief.
I was exhausted and looked around as everyone found comfort in their mates. I smiled, knowing that everyone had come home safely to their families.
"Everyone," I announced, and all eyes fell on me.
"Thank you all for your bravery and hard work."
"This pack has always been strong, but tonight, we came out stronger, fighting as one."
"I also want to say that Alpha Seth and the Crescent Moon pack came through for us when we needed it. I will call him and thank him personally for sending warriors to help us," I said as howls filled the castle walls.
"Now, I'm exhausted and would like to go to bed, with the start of a new day tomorrow," I said goodnight to everyone and headed up to our bedroom.
Staci and I showered and got prepared for bed. I held my mate close as we dozed off to dreamland.
Staci and her baby bump
