The Mystical White Wolf

Chapter THIRTY-DEATH OF AN ALPHA

One Week Later: Halloween Night

Staci POV

The week has been blissful. I am enjoying motherhood, and Antonio loves being a Father. Today was Halloween, and Antonio said that every year, they have a trick-or-treat night in the forest for the young pups. I heard our son coo as his Grandparents, sitting across from us, gushed over him.

Mom and Dad returned last weekend from their trip to San Francisco and came to visit us and see their first grandpup. I sat beside Antonio, sipping hot chocolate and eating freshly baked Halloween cookies. It was chilly outside for a Halloween night, so we watched Halloween movies in the family room.

"You're the most handsome little boy ever," Mom gushed at Ace.

"Oh, we need more of these, don't we, Brady?" my Mom asked, making my Father chuckle as my eyes widened.

"Dinner is ready," Evelyn came in and announced.

We all got up and headed toward the dining area. My Mother handed Ace to me as she and my Father went to take their seats. Ricardo and Alicia returned from Manaus a few days ago. From the conversation he and Antonio had, they agreed with the man who killed Helio and got their family's pack back.

Antonio paid triple for land and what Helio owed to the Cardoso family. Antonio shared with me and the others the Cardoso family owned half the real estate in Manaus and lived like a mafia family of werewolves. Ricardo stated they're all about money, especially Abel. When Ricardo produced the check for what Antonio was willing to pay, Abel and his son immediately relinquished the rights of the land to the Silva family.

The Cardosos didn't know Helio was a Silva, and Remigio realized his mistake in taking Helio's life, and the pack lands. The Silva name alone speaks volumes because of who Adonis was as an Alpha and the supposed rumor that he was a royal.

Antonio and Daniela had a long conversation about what to do with the land, and Antonio suggested building a luxury hotel there. Daniela thought it was a good idea. She also indicated that her younger brother Jorge could manage it. Daniela comes from a well-respected Alpha family. According to her, she is the only daughter of her Father, and she has four brothers.

Antonio sat at the head of the table with me on his left side. Our Betas sat to his right, and our Gammas sat to my left. I looked and noticed the cute baby bellies Monica and Marcie were showing off, and I smiled. Antonio's Grandmother came to dinner escorted by Aquila.

Daniela had a rough first few weeks but seemed to return to high spirits after I had Ace. She stood by me and looked down at her great-grandson.

"Que menino lindo, parabéns Antonio e Staci," (Such a handsome boy, congratulations Antonio, and Staci). Daniela said, kissing the top of Ace's head.

I smiled as she leaned down, kissed my cheek, and patted Antonio's shoulder.

"Obrigado, avó," (Thank you, Grandmother). Antonio told his Grandmother as she smiled.

"Obrigado," (Thank you). I said to Daniela as she rubbed my shoulder and went to sit down by her son and his mate.

Carter and Monica discovered they were expecting twins: a boy and a girl. Juliano and Marcie found out they were expecting a boy. I was happy for my friends and couldn't wait to see our pups grow up together.

The Omega servers exited the kitchen, rolling food carts to the dining table. I looked at the food-covered trays and wondered what was prepared for dinner tonight. The staff uncovered the trays; the scent hit my nose and made my mouth water. I squealed delightfully.

We had a simple Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy, served over butter-flavored mashed potatoes, savory string beans, and clover rolls. For dessert, there was a pumpkin pie and a caramel apple pie.

The young pups were out in the forest with their parents, trick-or-treating and having a great time. Antonio made sure to double warrior patrols for the night. I set Ace in his bassinet so that I could eat dinner. Everyone was having conversations and talking about Christmas coming up.

I was about to eat a piece of Salisbury steak when my head buzzed, and a white light flashed before my eyes, causing me to gasp.

The vision flowed, and I saw leaves and blood on the ground, along with what looked like the bodies of dead wolves. I looked to the other side and saw Ares ripping out the throats of wolves. I looked again and saw a giant black wolf with dark blue eyes and a dirty brown wolf with gray eyes fighting each other.

"What the hell is this?" I thought to myself.

"This is the fight between Ricardo's wolf and Conrad's wolf," Solaris said, sitting beside me.

"What the hell, Solaris," I glared at her.

"This hasn't happened yet."

"Conrad is on his way to the pack. It would be best if you warned Antonio," Solaris said.

The white light flashed again as the vision faded, and I was returned to the present. I looked around as everyone stared at me.

"Staci, what's wrong?" Antonio asked as I looked at him. I took a deep breath to calm my racing heart.

"Conrad and a group of wolves are on their way here."

"We are going to be attacked," I said as Ace started wailing, and I grabbed him from the bassinet and held him close.

"Shh, it's okay, my little star," I consoled my son as Antonio growled.

"Get those pups out of the forest. Tell the warriors patrolling to back off the border lines."

"I want Conrad to think he surprised us," Antonio boomed in his Alpha tone.

"Which way was he coming from, my love?" Antonio asked as Ace calmed down.

"Hold on," I said, searching my vision for the direction Conrad was entering the territory.

"From the South," I said and looked up at Antonio.

"Let's move," Antonio said as I grabbed his arm.

Antonio pulled me to his chest and kissed my lips. I didn't want to let him go, but knew I had to. I was still healing from having Ace, and I hadn't trained my powers since giving birth. Antonio released my lips and kissed our son on the head as Ace cooed and wiggled his arms.

"Be careful," I called out as Antonio, Carter, his Father, Uncle, and Liam exited the castle.

Juliano, Rafael, Lucas, Tiago, my parents, Antonio's Mother, and the girls stayed inside the castle. Ace started fussing, and I knew why. He was hungry. I went to a quieter area to be alone to nurse my son. I felt tears sting my eyes as I lowered my sweater dress and unclasped my strap to feed my fussy pup.

Ace latched on and started suckling. I felt Juliano nearby and told him not to come in. I silently prayed to the moon goddess that my vision wouldn't come true.

Conrad POV

The few trusted pack warriors and some rogues I brought with me were traveling in wolf form to the Blue Eclipse pack. Abaddon didn't know about this surprise attack I had planned. I hoped to surprise their warriors and sneak into the castle to kill Ricardo and take my mate Alicia.

Colton growled as he agreed that Alicia was ours and we should be Alpha of the Blue Eclipse pack.

"If you all see that fucking Ricardo Silva, he's mine!"

"I'll kill him myself," I mind-linked to my warriors.

I brought along fifty warriors and fifty rogues. That should be enough to fight off the Blue Eclipse warriors while I sneak in and take my mate.

"Alpha, we are nearing the Southern border," my warrior Edmond mind linked.

"Good. We go in quietly and take out the warriors that get in our way, understood?" I looked at my warriors.

"Yes, Alpha," they said in unison.

We approached the Southern border when I raised my hand for my warriors to stop. I sniffed the air and got the indication that the coast was clear.

"Let's go," I whispered.

We crept through the damp forest and neared the borderline of the Blue Eclipse pack. I heard a twig snap and raised my hand for my warriors to halt. I looked up as about a dozen Blue Eclipse warriors surrounded and boxed us in.

"What the fuck!" I shouted.

I felt this powerful aura and looked ahead as two giant black wolves emerged from the trees and bushes. I knew one of the wolves was Raiden, Ricardo's wolf. I recognize that scent anywhere as I fought him before for Alicia. I could only assume the other black wolf was his nephew, Alpha Antonio.

The two black wolves shifted back and slipped on some shorts. Alpha Antonio was tall and muscular. His aura made Colton whimper, and my eyes widened.

"What the hell is wrong with you," I snarled at my wimpy wolf.

"Do you not feel his aura? Dick head," Colton growled.

"Hello, Conrad," Antonio said and smirked at me.

I growled and wanted to rip his throat out for disrespecting me. I'm an Alpha, for goddess's sake.

"How the hell did you know we were coming?!" I roared as Antonio smirked and folded his arms across his chest.

Let me clarify that my Luna is extraordinary," Antonio said and chuckled.

Colton growled inside my head as my eyes focused on Ricardo. He stood there staring at me with his canines bared, and I felt his aura expand. Ricardo was taller and more built than me, but I still had speed on my side.

"I have come to claim what rightfully belongs to me!" I snarled.

Antonio laughed while Ricardo let out a fierce growl, and his eyes turned pitch-black. I scoffed, and Colton was fighting me for control.

"You think the Blue Eclipse pack and my Aunt Alicia belong to you?"

"You're dumber than you look, Conrad," Antonio said mockingly and laughed.

"That pup will pay for disrespecting me!" Colton howled in my head.

"Be quiet, you stupid mutt," I said as Colton scoffed at me.

"Give me my mate!" Colton growled out.

Ricardo roared, and I flinched. His aura made me want to submit, but I fought off the aura because my warriors were looking too stunned.

"You are as weak and pathetic as your human."

"Alicia is my fated mate, and you think I will hand her to you?" Ricardo snarled.

That angered Colton more. I was partially shifting as Colton was forcing the shift.

"Fight me!" Colton snarled with his canines bared.

Ricardo's smile widened as he quickly shifted to Raiden, walked out into the field, and glowed in the moonlight. I let Colton take control and shifted into his complete form as we met Raiden halfway.

"If any of you Blood Moon warriors interfere."

"My warriors will kill you," Alpha Antonio boomed out.

"Fuck, his aura was strong."

"He will die by my claws," Colton snarled.

"That he will now let's kill him," I replied through our link.

Ricardo POV

Of course, Colton would make the first strike by trying to wrap his jaws around our throat. Raiden side-stepped him and kicked his ribs as he slid across the field.

Colton growled, and Raiden huffed at him. He again lunged as Raiden ducked down, and Colton flew over our body as Raiden slashed his claws across Colton's stomach. Blood dripped from the wound as Colton whimpered.

"This is pathetic," Raiden said and huffed.

"You would think he would put up a fight," I replied.

Colton again tried to lunge for our throats as Raiden raised his claws and slashed Colton's face, causing him to howl. Blood dripped down his face and jaw, covering the ground as he growled at us.

"Please, this is boring," Raiden grunted.

"Just kill him already," I replied.

"With pleasure," Raiden growled.

Colton lunged again as Raiden jumped in the air, landed on his back, and clamped his jaws around Colton's throat, squeezing hard as Colton whimpered and howled. He kicked his legs and tried fighting back to no avail.

Raiden pulled hard as the flesh tore and ripped Colton's head from his body and shifted back to his human form. We heard the howls of the Blood Moon pack warriors as they knew their Alpha was dead. I shifted back as my nephew handed me a pair of shorts, and I slipped them on.

"Go back to Blood Moon and tell that weakling son of Conrad's that his pathetic Father is dead!"

"If he wants a war, Blue Eclipse is prepared to fight!" I heard the growls of the Blood Moon pack warriors as they cautiously came to collect Conrad's body and severed head.

Antonio POV

Watching my Uncle fight Conrad was the best part of my night. He was a strong warrior and an incredible Alpha. I watched my Uncle rip Conrad's head off. I knew how much weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

My Uncle told me that when he became Alpha of the Blue Eclipse pack, Conrad came to challenge him for the pack and Alicia. He said that Conrad didn't stand a chance at winning. My Uncle regretted giving him the easy out. He said he should've just killed him and been done with it.

After the Blood Moon warriors collected Conrad's body and head, they retreated from my pack lands, and we returned to the castle.

"My love?" I linked with Staci and heard her sweet voice.

"Baby, Are you okay? Is the fight over?" Staci asked.

"Conrad is dead, but his warriors didn't attack."

"We are headed back toward the castle now," I said, hearing her sigh in the link.

"Okay, see you soon," Staci replied as I closed the link.

When we returned to the castle, I saw Lucas and Tiago standing guard outside. As soon as I walked inside, Staci instantly ran to me and hugged me tightly, holding Ace in her arms.

"Are you okay?" Staci asked as I nodded.

"I'll explain when we are alone," I said, rubbing our son's curly hair as he was fast asleep.

I looked over at my Uncle and Aunt as they embraced each other. My Aunt was in tears, and I knew my Uncle had told her about Conrad. As Staci and I passed everyone, we said our goodnights and headed to our bedroom.

Once we reached our bedroom, Staci laid Ace in his bassinet while I showered. Moments later, Staci joined me as we helped wash each other. We finished our shower and got ready for bed. Staci and I got comfortable as I began to tell her what had happened between my Uncle and Conrad.
