Chapter 324
Joseph sat inside his office in Wolf Group with a strict expression on his face as he twirled the pen he was holding.
James reported, "What was Liam thinking when he decided to bring Paige to meet Declan in a VIP club lounge?"
Joseph chuckled coldly, "Are the results of Liam and Paige's paternal test out yet?"
"They are. I sent their DNA out to ten different labs in three different cities so that the results would be accurate. It took a whole
week, and the results were all the same. Liam and Paige aren't related at all!"
"Ah! I see," Joseph sighed in relief.
"I had kind of expected this. After all, I didn't think that Liam would commit these crimes against Paige if she was his real
daughter."
"Liam must have arranged for Declan and Paige to meet so that he could push her into the tiger's den! Mr. Dawson, I think we
should deal with that lunatic as soon as possible!" James exclaimed angrily.
"I know, but I'm just worried about what Paige would think if we dealt with Liam now," Joseph sighed, "She would be extremely
upset if she knew that Liam wasn't her birth father."
"Why would she be upset?" The words came out of James' mouth before he figured out why.
If Paige was not Liam's child, that meant that Natalie had been cheating on Liam this whole time with another man!
Paige would be crushed if she knew that Natalie had been an unfaithful wife, as Natalie had been her role model this whole time.
James understood why Joseph was feeling so troubled, "What do we do now? Instead of leaving Paige to face Liam all by
herself, we should tell her the truth right?"
"Liam won't be able to do anything to her as long as I’ve got her back. Anyways, she needs to realise how evil Liam can be and
give up on him herself. I would only be wiling to tell her the truth then so that she would not be too upset about it." This was the
only solution that he could think of.
James continued after a slight pause, "Miss Anderson and the Sir Hayden also went out for a cup of coffee today. I couldn't
overhear their conversation, but in the end Sir looked really angry when he left the coffee shop."
"Well Paige probably won against my father if he stormed out of the coffee shop angrily," Joseph grinned, "Paige is stubborn and
she also has a fiery temper, I bet she gave a good scolding to my father when he told her to break up with me."
"You think so?" James was relieved after hearing Joseph's words.
As the both of them continued to discuss other company issues, Bobby entered Joseph's office suddenly, "Sir, our sources have
spotted Lamont!"
"Uh! Where is he?" Joseph could barely hide the excitement in his eyes once he heard about the news.
"Lamont is with Miss Anderson right now. They're discussing some issue, but we couldn't overhear their conversation because of
how cautious Lamont was."
"What's the address of the coffee shop? I'll head over right now!" Joseph ordered as he began to pick up his car keys before he
was stopped by Bobby, "Sir, Lamont's dangerous, who knows what might happen if you decide to meet him alone?"
"What are you worried about? I wouldn't be so foolish to do something to Lamont under broad daylight!" Joseph declared as he
patted Bobby's shoulder.
"Besides, I won't be making any moves until we find out the truth of the incident that happened years ago."
Bobby was relieved after hearing Joseph's explanation, "Alright, I'll go with you!"
"I'II be fine, Lamont would be more suspicious of me if there was someone with me. I'm going myself."
Bobby looked to James for help when he realised that he wasn't able to stop Joseph from meeting Lamont, "Why aren't you
stopping him, Assistant Field?"
"How can I stop him? It'll be fine as Miss Anderson is at the coffee shop too. Nothing will happen as Sir Joseph would be able to
control his temper in front of her."
Paige and Lamont were chatting when her phone rang. Joseph's gentle voice could be heard from the other end, "Where are you
now, Paige?"
'I'm outside right now, what is it?"
"I saw your car when I was dealing with some matters around this area," Joseph stated as he opened the door to get off his car,
"Are you nearby?"
"Yes, I'm in the coffee shop, do you want to come and grab a cup of coffee with us?"
"Sure, 'I be right there."
Lamont immediately stood up to leave when he heard that Joseph was coming over, "I'll be leaving now since Joseph is coming
over to meet up with you."
"Please stay and meet Joseph. I'm sure you would see the good in him if you have a chance to sit down and talk to him face to
face. Oh, and I also promised not to keep any secrets from him, so please stop running away from him in the future when you
see him as well."
Lamont paused with a strange expression on his face before giving in reluctantly, "Alright."
The door to the coffee shop opened a few minutes later as Joseph strode in. Paige immediately waved him over to their table
before greeting him, "Come over here, I've already ordered your favourite, Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee."
Joseph sat down next to Paige as his eyes turned to Lamont, "Who's this?"
"My mother's friend, Lamont Saunders. Lamont, meet Joseph!" Paige introduced them with a smile.
Lamont was shocked to see Joseph, but he immediately caught himself and greeted Joseph, "Nice to meet you, Sir Joseph!"
"Nice to meet you too!" Joseph replied as he reached out to shake Lamont's hand.
Lamont's hand was coarse and it was similar to Bobby's hand. This meant that Lamont was also a master in martial arts, and he
would definitely be on par with Bobby if they ever competed.
This must be why Bobby was afraid of him going against Lamont directly, Joseph thought as his eyes swept over Lamont's face,
Joseph was surprised to see that Lamont's face was the complete opposite of his coarse hands.
Lamont's face was smooth and his facial features were protruding. To be honest, he would've believed Lamont was in his
twenties if he had not known about his real age in advance.
While Joseph was observing Lamont, the latter was doing the same thing to him as well. Was this the renowned Joseph, the
rebellious successor to the great Dawson family?
Joseph was extremely handsome and had an aloof atmosphere around him. He looked harmless on the surface, and Lamont
immediately could see why he was so popular.
Lamont sighed as Paige must have fallen for his good looks after all.
Joseph took a sip of the coffee that Paige handed to him before putting the cup down.
He patted Paige's head gently and asked lovingly, "Are you still feeling sick?"
"Nope, I'm fine now!" Paige answered while looking at Joseph affectionately.
Lamont could tell that Paige was deeply in love with Joseph, as he had seen the same dreamy look in Natalie's eyes when she
looked at Archer years ago. He understood why Paige got so defensive when he was badmouthing Joseph just now.
Lamont sighed secretly as everything had gotten out of hand, and he had to inform Archer about the new updates of this case as
soon as possible.
