The Missing Princess

Six Months Later

Reign

“Come on little man let’s let mommy sleep.” I said.

The only response I got was a whine of displeasure from Haikili. He had woken up and was lying in his crib watching the light show above. He was talking in his baby gibberish when I walked in. I had woken to a particularly loud squeal which I was guessing was from the bright yellow of the light show that Kodi rigged up on the ceiling above his crib. As usual Uahi was hanging from the steel bar in the corner. He has more or less become Haikili’s watcher. I damn near tore the hospital the day she went into labour. When those monitors went silent Blade was seconds from pushing his way forward and making us shift. It turned out that while not as powerful as his mother our little Haikili was powerful and his powers and Kodi’s were pushing against each other. Kodi’s powers were trying to stop the labour, but our little man wanted out. Chiron had explained that Zhamaxin and the fey doctor in the castle had expected this and gave him a sedative that wouldn’t hurt Haikili but stop their powers from fighting each other. It was a short acting sedative so within a half an hour Kodi was awake and pissed off that they had sedated her, but it made the labour much easier. Haikili Jasper was born at 11:00 p.m. weighing a healthy 11 pounds 4oz and measuring 24 inches long. Kodi thought this was huge, but dad had explained that this was actually normal size for our family. Dani was an even 10 pounds. I lay him down on him down on his changing table as I strip him of his onesie. It’s been hot so he has been sleeping in a onesie or just a diaper. I get him changed quickly. I dressed him in a light T-shirt and a pair of shorts. The two of us ventured down stairs to see what might be cooking. Ino, Fern, Shay, Batina, Mauku and dad are in there waiting on Gaston to finish breakfast. Haikili is stolen from me as soon as I am noticed. Dad loves his grandchildren. Dani brings little Mae over to visit a lot. There is only a few days between Mae and Haikili.

“Where is Kodi?” dad asked.

“She is still asleep. He was up a couple of times last night. He still hasn’t gotten the memo that Kodi is no longer is midnight snack. He wasn’t impressed when all he got was the bottle.” I answered.

“I am sure, but he will figure it out soon. You were the same way. You cut teeth early and your mother kicked you off her tits the first time you bit her.” Dad laughed.

I really didn’t need that visual of my mother but whatever. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me.

“Good morning my little copper flame.” I said.

I got a grumble as a response. I told her to go sit down and went to grab her a cup of coffee. Haikili let out a squeal when he saw his mother. Kodi smiled at him as she took a sip of the coffee, I sat in front of her. Gaston and a few of the omegas began to set down heaping platefuls of food. We had just started introducing solid foods to Haikili.

He wasn’t a picky eater, which was nice although he hated chocolate. He didn’t have a sweet tooth which upset a few of the guys around here. I on the other hand was glad he wasn’t into sweets. Everyone said he looked like me, but I could definitely see Kodi in him. His hair was strawberry blond, and his eyes were a mixture of mine and Kodi’s. He had my blue eyes but there were shards of her fire in his eyes. I took him from dad so he could eat. He grabbed my fork.

“Oh you want to try this?” I asked.

He responded with a wave of his hands and a squeal. I was worried that he wasn’t developing as fast as some of the other pups, but Zhamaxin told us that he was developing as a fey should. Now, however, he was on track as far as both species were concerned. Haikili will be seven months old in a week and he is already starting to pull himself up on the furniture. I bet he will be walking soon. Then there will truly be no rest.

“When are the others showing up?” Ino asked.

“They should be here within the hour. I am hoping we will finally know what the hell actually happened.” I sigh.

Everyone nodded as we continued to eat. Breakfast was much more interesting now that Haikili was here. Fern and Ino had found a she-wolf that offered to be their surrogate. She was gay so they didn’t need to worry about some woman trying to cause issues. She was 1/8 vampire which they didn’t care about. Haeley was from a pack in Texas. She had come here on vacation and never left. They met her a month after Haikili was born. I was more than okay with her joining the pack. She had left her birth pack because they were homophobic. She is now three months along with triplets. That surprised all of us when Chiron announced that. I laughed my ass off. Ino passed out when he found out. Haeley wasn’t overly thrilled to be carrying triplets, but she gets to play the part of cool aunt as she calls it, so she is okay with it now. We finished eating as the omegas started cleaning up.

“Take him when you shower. It will be faster if the two of you are ready by the time I am done. Plus, it saves either of us from getting soaked when we bathe him.” Kodi stated.

“Sounds like a plan. Come on little man lets shower and get ready so mommy can do the same.” I say looking at him.

I wait till the last minute before taking off his diaper. He lets out a squeal as I step under the water. I laugh. He loves the water just like his mommy. I am positive I have another surfer on my hands. Kodi has just returned to surfing in the last few weeks. She will take Haikili sometimes and the others down there love him. He is going to be a big hit with the girls when he gets old enough. Hell, they already fawn over him. The two of us had just finished when Kodi walked out in a towel. Haikili was sitting on the ground as I ran my eyes up and down her body.

All she did was roll her eyes and flip me off. Kodi put herself on birth control as soon as she could. We want more but she wants to wait until Haikili is closer to two years old. I was fine with that since I have a feeling that the next one is going to be a girl.

“Alright hand him over.” Elymyna demanded.

I was more than happy to let her have her great grandson for a while. I was surprised that Dani and her twins didn’t come. I guess the little one was being fussy and had been keeping them up at night. She was essentially being a spoiled princess. Kodi sat down in my lap as everyone took their seats.

I was intrigued to know if they had found out why Blade had become a Lycan. We knew that Eros and Jeremy still hadn’t said anything. All we knew so far was that neither of them had fated mates. Since Eros rejected his before the bond had a chance to form, he was not given a second chance mate. Jeremy, we found out was the son of an alpha from a pack in Southern Florida. They had been attacked when he was very young and Zenos had taken him in. His father had been helping Zenos and the werewolf council had found out and gave Jeremy’s father an ultimatum. Either give up the title of alpha or the pack would be disbanded. In the end his father had more or less gone to war with council which resulted in the pack being wiped out and their lands were redistributed to other packs in the area.

“We transferred Eros and Jeremy to my brothers castle in France. He has ways to get someone to talk to. Before you ask, we are fine with it. Yes, technically he is our grandson, but he rejected the family bond officially five months ago.” Zhamaxin told us.

“Plus, we have this little one and Mae now so that makes up for Eros. Plus, Daenernay comes to see us all the time and we have grown close to her and the twins. While we do wish shit could have turned out differently everything will be fine. Eros had his fey and witch magic stripped and from what we were told Jeremy’s wolf abandoned him years ago. Those two are more or less human. They might live longer than other humans but that is all.” Elymyna explained.

“Eros made his own bed now he gets sleep in it.” I stated.

He might have been my cousin, but I have no fucking sympathy for him or his little butt buddy. They caused as much drama and shit as his piece of shit father did. I felt nothing when I ended him and his bitch of a mate. Lorena got what was coming to her as well.

“What about the whole Lycan thing?” I asked.

“I can answer that.” a male voice said.

There stood a ghost from my past. There was no way he survived. I sat there stunned as did Uncle Aaron. I could see the wheels turning in his head as well. He was seeing ghosts just as I was.

“My name is Dytharlio and Randy was my cousin. Yes, I know we look a lot alike. His father and my mother were siblings. As we all know, elves are not overly social so when his parents met it was rather scandalous. Light and dark elves aren’t exactly friendly towards each other. They tend to more or less ignore each other. Randy kept the fact that he was a quarter elf to himself. People would have lost their shit if they had known.” Dytharlio told us.

“Why would he blood bond to me?” I asked.

“That was my idea. It was my brother that would come and train you when you got older. He asked the two of us how to protect you and I told him a blood bond to you would be the best way. It also allowed him to transfer all his magic, elven and warlock, to you when he died.” he added.

“You wouldn’t happen to know why Reign went from being a regular werewolf to a Lycan?” I asked.

“Yes, I do. When the fey and elves first split there was a princess that was born. Her father was both light and dark fey while her mother was both light and dark elf. The council at the time wanted her to marry another fey prince but she had found her mate in the royal Lycan court of the time. They ruled all three species for many years. It was foretold that they would both be reincarnated when the time is right. I believe that is what happened with you Reign. When Kodi performed that spell to change her scent to humans she unknowingly at the time used Fern who has vampire lineage which gave her fangs. She was able to physically mark you instead of the normal way a fey or elf would. When she unlocked that room, she did release something, but it wasn’t what everyone thought. There was never anything in that room, it was all within the seal. Randy locked away the ancient magic within that lock and within Kodi.” Dytharlio explained.

That made sense. Dytharlio explained more about the elves as we continued to talk. Haikili ended up in my arms and was snoozing away on my shoulder as I leaned against Reign. I had my two favourite men surrounding me. I was surprised to learn that the elves have started to emerge from their seclusion. I asked if he would like to stay for a while, but he said that he needed to get back. He was apparently the beta of his kingdom. His older brother was the current king, but he did tell us that they would be having a discussion and that maybe a treaty or alliance would be in our future. I told him that would be great. I was finally getting the family that I was denied when I was younger because of a few delusional assholes.
