The Mirrorverse
Chapter 61
Syrhahn
As he ebbed in and out of consciousness, Syrhahn realised he was on a beach and no longer in the military labs. April’s face swam in and out of focus as he observed that the pain in his shoulder felt insufficient for the fatigue that had overwhelmed him. He felt cold and knew that was all the blood running out of his body.
He knew it wasn’t good. He knew he had been shot in the chest and he knew that his lung had collapsed, that didn’t take a doctor to work out. Breathing had become a privilege that other people had, and Syrhahn did not. With that thought, the world dissipated away.
