Chapter 1075
The next day, Vivienne took it upon herself to drop her twins off at school. The homeroom teacher, standing by the entrance, couldn't believe her eyes. Vivienne, with her youthful appearance, looked more like a college student than a mother of twins.
With a slight frown, Vivienne clarified her role, "I'm Juliette and Isaiah's mom. You must be their teacher, right?"
The teacher, Kiera, was visibly taken aback by Vivienne's assertive presence but managed to introduce herself after a brief pause, "Yes, hello, I'm Kiera, their homeroom teacher."
Vivienne glanced down at her two children, who were unusually quiet, before turning her attention back to Kiera. "They've just moved here from another town, so it might take them a little while to adjust. If there's any issue, please don't hesitate to contact me." She mentioned she'd be in Rivenwood for a few days, implying that she intended to keep a close eye on her children's transition.
After handing her contact information to Kiera, who appeared hesitant, Vivienne learned through the grapevine that a generous donation of a million dollars had been made to the school. This fact made Kiera swallow any reservations she might have had. Exiting the school, Vivienne was about to call Leopold to inquire about the school's background check process when she noticed Connor waiting by her car, the same man who approached her the day before at the Linklater family gathering where she agreed to collaborate on an aviation project. Her goal was clear: to uncover the final surveillance footage from Mr. Wolf's plane crash, the incident that led to his disappearance five years ago.
As she was about to get into her car, Vivienne's gaze drifted across the street, catching a glimpse of a familiar figure. Could it really be him?
Connor, noticing her distraction, asked if something was wrong. But the figure vanished as quickly as it appeared, along with any hope Vivienne had of it being him. Mr. Wolf would never allow himself to be so easily found.
Meanwhile, back in the classroom, Juliette and Isaiah were peering out the window, frustrated at seeing Connor playing the role of chauffeur for their mom.
"Told you, he's totally here for mom!" Isaiah grumbled, his disdain for Connor evident.
Unbeknownst to their mom, Isaiah had been secretly honing his hacking skills to track down their dad, developing software to alert him of any nearby surveillance footage.
However, to his frustration, it had never triggered-until today. As their mom's car pulled away, Juliette and Isaiah ducked down, but not before Isaiah's tablet beeped with a location alert.
Rushing to the window, Isaiah saw nothing but the fleeting shadow of a man, and the alert suddenly malfunctioned, leaving him with more questions than answers.
Back in the classroom, their teacher, Kiera, was losing patience with their antics, mistaking their concern for their father as typical classroom misbehavior. After a brief scolding, Juliette covered for Isaiah, claiming his stomach was upset a clear
excuse to leave the room?
Outside, Juliette confronted Isaiah about what he saw, threatening to expose his hacking activities to their mom if he didn't share. Isaiah reluctantly admitted he thought he saw their dad, a revelation that left Juliette both excited and skeptical.
Inspecting the malfunctioning software on Isajah's tablet, Juliette realized they had bigger problems at hand—namely, ensuring Connor doesn't end up with their mom before their dad has a chance
retum. They agreed it was tim
devise a plan to deter Connor's growing interest in their mother, emphasizing the urgency of their mission to protect their family unit.
"If this keeps going, Mom will totally fall for him, and then we'll be in real trouble." "What's your plan?"
Juliette squinted her eyes, a mischievous idea already brewing in her mind.
"Mom hasn't caught feelings for him yet, so he's definitely going to try and charm us first."
"We need to make the first move... Remember my inventions? The stuff I learned from Grandpa Finnian will come in handy now." Isaiah blinked, a bit embarrassed to admit it out loud.
Those inventions weren't really taught by Grandpa Finnian. Juliette had come up with them on her own, more by accident than design. But to deal with someone out of the ordinary, unconventional methods might just do the trick.
