Chapter 15
“I don’t see how people think I’m crazy,” spoke Dany as he walked up the aisle in the St. Joseph Church in Dyer, Indiana while holding his sister’s other wing. “I mean, big brothers protect their baby siblings from danger. I loved my father. I loved him to the next black hole and back, but,” he kicked some shattered statues out of his way and huffed. Dany looked up at the altar to admire his work: Sixty bloody bodies of women, men, children, some nuns, and a priest sprawled around him. “Why did he send me away when I was a child?!” he shouted, listening to his voice echo in the emptiness of the now destroyed sanctuary with tears in his eyes “I was only a young lad! My mother wanted to kill me because I wasn’t a girl! I didn’t know how to control my powers!” He kicked in one of the corpse’s heads in rage. “That’s not how a parent should love their child! It’s not! It’s not! It’s not!”
“Tell me about it,” Dany paused his squashing and spun around to see a handsome male sitting in one of the pews. “Daddy issues are number one in the stripper business.”
Dany smirked at the man’s comment. “God warned us that Satan was handsome. Hello, Lucifer.”
Lucifer crossed his legs and smiled at Dany. “I do have a cell phone, you know. See?” he took out his phone from his pants pocket to show the half-breed. “You could’ve called me instead of going thirteen century on us. I wonder who will clean this up.”
Dany skipped over to him and dropped the wing on his lap. “The wing of a reaper,” he dug into his pockets and pulled out some hex bags. “A bag of newborn bones from the near hospital,” he dropped the bags on his lap as well. “A bag of mixed herbs from that Jewel-Osco place down the road, and a ginger’s soul.”
Lucifer looked intrigued. “Well, someone is cooking in the kitchen. Let me guess: Iron cuffs?”
Dany showed him the iron bracelets. “Bracelets from my sister.”
Lucifer cringed. “Oh, sucks to be a witch! So, what are you selling your soul for, Daniel?”
“I want my uncles out of their retirement homes,” Dany replied. “And destroying this human world.”
Lucifer thought for a moment. “Hmm! An apocalypse with the four horsemen-”
“Don’t invite my dad,” Dany ordered.
Lucifer glanced up at him and thought again. “I see. The whole emo teen phase is still going on with you and Daddy Reaper. And what do I get from this, Daniel?”
“You can rule heaven and hell,” he smiled. “Kill Michael, God, and be the new G.”
Lucifer raised his eyebrows at Dany’s answer.
