The Mate of Two: The Ruby Wolf Series

My eyes shot open. Panic set in. The lights blinding. Where am I?

I began to choke. What was in my throat?

"Ariel?" I heard his voice. Soft like velvet. Blake. "Ariel?" I felt his hand grasp mine. But where was he? Everything was a blur. "Help! Someone! She is awake!" I heard him call.

My eyes fluttered shut. "Ariel? Can you hear me? I'm Dr. Andrews. You were in a very severe car accident. You have been in a coma for 2 months now."

2 months? Wait what happened? Car accident? How? Was all that a dream?

My dad? Vicky? Damien? Rose? Was that all a dream?

I felt the discomfort of something being pulled out of my throat. My eyes shot open, i began coughing and gagging.

I looked around. The room was less bright than before. Blake stood off to the side. A doctor and nurse stood looking at me with worry.

"W-water." I finally was able to get out. The nurse nodded and left the room.

"Ariel. Do you know where you are?"

I shook my head. I didn't. I knew I was in the hospital but I didn't know where exactly.

"You're in the hospital in Centralia. Do you know where that is?"

I nodded. I do.

The nurse came back in and handed me a cup of ice water.

After I was able to refresh my mouth and throat I asked, "where's my mom and baby brother?"

"Your father was contacted. He should be arriving to assist you." Dr. Andrews said.

"Why? Where is my mom and brother?" I asked again.

"Right now you aren't in the best-"

I cut him off, "where are they?" I demanded.

"I'm sorry, but your mother and brother did not make it." He said before excusing himself.

Blake walked up to me and grasped my hand.

"No. It was a dream. They died.. A dream. It no. That's no...." I shook my head.

"Ariel, baby? Are you okay?"

"No.... No.. That means no. But how?"

I looked up at Blake, "are you a werewolf?" I asked. My question surprised him. But I could tell when he tried to deny it that he was lying. I looked down and shook my head.

"Yes you are.... Cremor pack... You are the Alpha..... Leader. Im your mate.... Damien Knight.." I looked back up at him.

"How do you know all this? How do you know of Damien Knight?"

"I had a dream..... I thought.... But.... I'm Damien's mate as well...."

"How?"

"My half death.... I was almost dead. They barely saved me in time.. So now I'm mates to both of you. A werewolf Alpha and a Vampire...."

The shocked expression on his face confirmed my words. That wasn't a dream.... It was a glimpse at my future.... If I choose Damien.

"Rose.. She..." My words caught in my throat. She was the one who tried to kill me. Who killed my mom and brother.

I looked over at Blake he was stiff and the muscles in his jaw twitched as he clenched his teeth.

"This is how it starts.... Blake.... You didn't know I was alive when I left here to go live with my father. We met again... When I was with damien... I had a choice... I ended up choosing him though... But it was a mistake... I died... And became a vampire. Only because I didn't want to leave my father.. But I hated every minute of it. And I was violent.. I almost killed someone. I.... Blake I don't want to become a vampire. I want to be with you."

"Ariel, baby its okay. That will never happen. I gotta call and when they told me what happened I was heading here immediately. I love you and I will always love you."

"They called you?" I asked.

"Yes. I think your mom put me as one of the emergency contacts. They asked me about your father. So I gave them his information. Ariel, we need to get to the bottom of your dream though."

"I know.. But do I have to face him.. It was terrible with him in the dream."

"There wasn't any good times but you chose him?"

"There was but..... It got bad after...."

"We will still need to go to them and speak with his father."

"Okay."

"So.. How far did you get with him? Were you mates with him?"

"Yea...."

He nodded his head. "The doctors say you will be good to leave the hospital in a week after you woke up."

"Okay. What.... What happened to our house?"

"Its still yours. I bought it so you didn't lose it." He said.

I smiled at him tears in my eyes. I was greatful that I wasnt absolutely alone. That i had him.

I closed my eyes, I was still tired and needed more sleep..

But as soon as I closed them I wished I could open them again.

"She should be waking up." I heard a voice say.

"She's been out for four months." His voice echoed in my head.

"Ariel?" Blake's voice pierced through my mind, pulling me to him. My eyes opened. "You okay dearest? You had a pained look on your face."

"I went back to the dream...."

"I'm going to call my Bet- I mean Jeb."

He said as he pulled out his phone and stood.

"Blake." I called as he walked towards the door.

"Um.. I'd like to know about you... About the werewolf side of you.." I said.

He smiled and nodded before stepping out of the room.

A few minutes later he came back in and smiled. "Jeb will be heading in with a few others. To help get your stuff packed up and moved to the packhouse."

"Packhouse?"

"You'll see." He laughed.

A week later we were in his car heading to his pack. The drive was long but the scenery was breathtaking.

He had filled me in on all the werewolf information that he could right now.

Jeb was his Beta, his second in command. His Gamma was Eric, his third in command the Gamma female was Erics mate, Millie.

I'd be their Luna, Blake's mate... When I accpeted him the wolf way.

I found it strange.. A human being mates to a werewolf. Blake said it was rare but special. He told me the last known Human mate to an Alpha was over 1,000 years before.

All of my belongings were already at the packhouse. They packed up all of my clothing and other items I'd possibly want. I still could go to the house, but to protect me better Blake wanted me here.

"Everyone already loves you.. You met some of the pack members. When you'd come over, you were at one of the smaller villages. But you made a good impression and they spread it to the rest of the pack." He said. He knew I was worried about them not liking me.

"Oh."

"Ariel, you'll be their Luna, whether they like it or not. You are my mate and I will not reject you." He said as he reached over and grabbed my hand.

"How can I be their Luna if I'm just human."

He was silent for a minute. Deep in thought before he just said, "there is a lot you have to learn my luna."

I nodded my head at him before leaning back and closing my eyes.

I had trouble sleeping some nights... Because id go back to that place. Blake said it was some type of premonition. But thankfully I didn't go back. When Blake woke me up telling me that we had arrived I realized that I had a dreamless sleep and I actually felt more rested than I had in a while.

BLAKES P.O.V

"Everyone already loves you.. You met some of the pack members. When you'd come over, you were at one of the smaller villages. But you made a good impression and they spread it to the rest of the pack." I said, I could sense how nervous she was. But as soon as I spoke those words she relaxed a bit.

"Oh." Was all she said as she looked over at me.

"Ariel, you'll be their Luna, whether they like it or not. You are my mate and I will not reject you." I said as I reached over and took her hand.

"How can I be their Luna, if I'm just human." She said as she looked out the window once again.

I stayed silent for a while.. I was trying to find the right words without giving anything away. All of the ranked members had to be present before she could be told anything. We all had to tell her.... Me as the Alpha, even though she is my mate, couldn't tell her anything without the other members present due to the laws of the Council.

"There is a lot you have to learn my Luna." I finally said. She nodded her head at me and closed her eyes. After a while her breathing was steady. I waited a bit before I finally knew she was in a restful sleep.

I called Jeb.

"Alpha." He answered.

"Jeb, I need you to make sure my room is ready for her. Im about 30 to 40 minutes away. I want her to rest the rest of the night. We will have the meeting tomorrow afternoon."

"Yes, Alpha." He said. Jeb was my best friend, he was a very loyal and trusted beta and he was always formal with me when around other members.

After that I hung up I dialed the last number I thought I'd ever have to call again.

"Alpha Blake, what a pleasure to hear from you again." Kameran knight said.
