Chapter Epilogue
DIMA’S POV
After speaking with the troubled demon, Dima and Oksana went up to Vania, and the witch opened a portal for them in front of Elspeth’s kitchen glass door.
“I have a surprise for you two in your cave. I expect you’ll be pleased with the ambient I created for you. Call me when it becomes safe to visit you and not walk in on anything too scandalous to your mother.” Vania whispered in Dima’s ear and kissed her son on the cheek before doing the same to Oksana.
“Noted, mom.” He answered and grabbed their bags and Oksana’s hand for them to walk through the portal.
“Resume to work when you decide to make me a godfather!” Gaivano screamed from the middle of the crow sending them off, and everyone laughed at his remark except for Angus, who lighted up on fire.
“HEY, we need some damage control over here!” Gaivano yelled again and yelped when Angus turned his gaze on him, taking off flying away from the murderous half demon half wizard burning man.
“Don’t roast the man, Angus!” Dima heard Zainab yell from the front of the crow, and Oksana laughed, triggering his own laughter, especially after seeing Gaivano’s eagle form narrowingly evading a fireball thrown at him.
“Let us go, quickly, before I piss myself laughing,” Dima told Oksana, and the latter snorted and bent over, holding her belly from laughing so much.
“BYE!” They yelled over their shoulders and stepped inside the portal, feeling it close behind them. A chill went through their spines, Mato felt uncomfortable inside the portal, but their voyage quickly ended.
Oksana felt dizzy when the portal opened in front of them again. The spiral spinning colors messed with her head, and Dima had to support her when they stepped out of the vortex, and into his now decored inner chamber of the cave.
“Are you ok?” He asked her worried, supporting her against himself.
“Ummhm... Just give me a couple of minutes. The portal left me dizzy, everything is spinning, and I feel like hugging the floor and hurling all the cake I ate.” She answered him quietly and hugged Dima’s middle tightly, feeling herself swaying.
“You don’t sound too well, love.” Dima didn’t even take notice of his mother’s decorations. He just saw a corner full of soft pillows and blankets and toke Oksana over there, laying her down comfortably before he sat beside her.
“Dima, don’t worry so much. I’m fine. You’ll get wrinkles before we mate if you don’t calm down. Give me five minutes to get back to fully functional, and we can go burn some calories.” Oksana daringly said, half opening her eyes to look at Dima. The bear took a deep breath and nodded his head, trying to relax beside her.
Of course, that didn’t work, and five seconds later, he was up and walking out of that chamber to grab a glass he had left on the stairs that led up to his house’s basement. Dima cleaned the glass in a cold spring that ran inside his cave system, and then he filled it with fresh water, delivering it to Oksana in hopes of making her feel better.
Oksana drank the water he offered her, and just like she promised, five minutes later, she was feeling much better.
Dima was sitting beside her when she uncovered and opened her eyes, not feeling dizzy anymore. She started looking around and was in awe at the fairy lights that illuminated the corner they were in. It gave a soft and magic feel to the division.
“Wow, Dima... This looks amazing!” Oksana whispered, mesmerized and afraid of somehow breaking the dreamy and cozy feeling the lights gave their soft corner if she spoke any louder.
Dima gazed at his mate lovingly for a few moments, and then he turned his head to face the same thing as his mate.
He was impressed with what his mother had prepared for them. Everything looked just perfect for Oksana.
One of the lights shifted slightly, and Dima caught the movement from the corner of his eyes. He turned to face the side he saw the light move, but everything was still and normal. Oksana was still in awe of their little corner and didn’t pay him any mind while Dima got up and analyzed the light more closely.
“You don’t tell me...” He hesitated for a moment.
His whisper had reached Oksana’s ears, and she observed his movements, trying to understand what caught his attention.
Dima lifted his hand slowly and brought it closer to the lights. When he was almost touching them, the lights shifted from their spots to avoid his hand and revealed the actual unlighted fairy lights underneath. “She really did it.” He mumbled, surprised.
“Did what, Dima?” Oksana asked from her sitting spot on their... bed..? ...soft pile of blankets and pillows?
“These are fireflies, my Ana. My mom got fireflies to stand over the fairy lights she hanged.” He explained, and Oksana got up to go toward him and see the fireflies with her own eyes.
“Wow. I don’t know how she did this, but when we see her again we’ll have to thank her.” Oksana declared and burrowed herself against Dima’s side, laying her head against his chest, simply admiring the lights while he put his arm around her, caressing her arm and alternating between looking at the lights and his mate.
~ A few minutes later ~
“Di, why are we still looking at the bugs?” Oksana asked sometime later, and Dima barked out a laugh.
“I don’t know, my love!” He exclaimed in between laughs and kissed his mate’s forehead sweetly.
“Shouldn’t we be doing something else?” Oksana daringly asked, looking up at Dima’s face with her cheeks flushed.
Dima’s eyes darkened in lust and glinted with a predatory look aimed at Oksana, who took the initiative of grabbing Dima’s white suit jacket and pressing herself flush against his chest. Dima growled, pleased with his mate’s boldness, and allowed her to pull him down to kiss her, but he swiftly took control over their kiss.
They were still in the same clothes they had gotten married in. Dima in his white suit and red tie and Oksana in her dress. Their hands started roaming, exploring one another’s bodies and getting more daring.
Dima started feeling his tie suffocating him and let his hands fall off Oksana’s waist to get it off. Oksana noticed his struggle and took over the task. His tie wasn’t the only thing suffocating him, but he didn’t dare to be as bold as to ask his innocent little mate to free his raging boner.
Once his neck was free, Dima claimed Oksana’s lips again, her little sign and almost inaudible moans goading him on. Things heated up quickly and took a turn so drastically that the next thing Dima noticed, he was topless, his mate was out of her dress, and his hands were inside her panties, cupping her perfect little ass.
“Ar-are you s-sure?” He barely managed to ask in the mids of their wild kissing.
“Hell yeah,” Oksana whispered, her iris turning a very light pink shade and her scent intensified tenfold, driving Dima and Mato crazy with her arousal.
This is what Dima would later come to identify as a demoness’s spurts of lust or, as he called them, demoness’s heat.
That night they mated and marked each other, sealing their mate bond, and went a few extra rounds throughout the dark, only illuminated by the soft light produced by the fireflies.
Mato and Oksana’s demoness, who they still had not named, also had their own hanky-panky time. Both took over their human counterparts, with Mato being the fuzzy big man with claws, and Oksana’s demoness slim with creamy skin, and tantalizing sharp features and round curves that enticed the bear. In sum, the night was not short for the newlywed and mated couple.
~ The next morning ~
Dima woke up with the slight shine of light coming up from the small entrance he had built to get to his main cave from inside his house.
The gallery they were staying in had a narrowed corridor of maybe 1 meter to 1.20 meters wide. It wasn’t that long, but in one of the corridor’s walls flowed the water spring and accumulated in a small pool in the gallery. The corridor led to some stairs carved in the rock that made a direct connection to his house’s basement.
Something of the kind happened in the gallery. The thick rock wall had been carved by him to form a staircase that conducted to a small hole on the top of the wall, which he widened to a 1.5 meters wide square hole. From that hole, by jumping down, he was directly in his main cave, the one he used to will in on his self-pity and spent his days sleeping.
He had missed his caves, but, by the looks of it, the gallery room will probably turn into his main cave from now on.
Dima looked down at his cute mate all sprawled out on the bed, sleeping on her stomach with a leg bent over his waist, her calf directly against his half-hard cock, one of her arms thrown over his chest, her fingers holding onto his shoulder while she drooled on a pillow near his shoulder, wetting him with drool in the process.
“Thank the gods the sheet is covering us from the waist down, otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to escape such temptation,” Dima whispered and caressed his Ana’s knotted short hair before he slowly started untangling himself from her to leave the bed.
‘NO! Uncover mate, and let’s go again!’ Mato’s yelled in his mind, and Dima rolled his eyes.
Let her be Mato. Our little Ana needs rest after all that. She will wake up sore already, so let’s not trouble her more and go prepare breakfast for her. Dima retaliated and felt Mato relent a bit until Oksana groaned and turned on her side to face the wall, her new appearance enlightened to the shifter’s eyes.
‘NO! I WANNA STAY!’ Mato roared and forcefully made Dima step towards the bed.
Didn’t you want to hunt something for her when we got back into our territory? We’re home now, let’s prepare breakfast for our little vixen, and then we’ll go hunting. Dima reminded the bear, and Mato promptly accepted his words.
‘Why’re we waiting? MOVE!’ The bear enthusiastically yelled in his mind, and Dima chuckled, grabbing his underwear to go upstairs and prepare breakfast.
~ A few hours later ~
OKSANA’S POV
She had woken up alone, and disappointment filled her chest at the feeling that the blankets were more than cold to the touch on Dima’s side of the bed. She stayed still for a bit, sulking until the hunger got the best of her, and she rolled to the side to get up. The movement pulled at her muscles, and Oksana hissed in pain, feeling sore in places she never even imagined.
“Fuck. I’m all sore. You aren’t taking over for a while, missy. I’m already getting your horrible word choice habits.” Oksana complained to her demoness, who snickered in return, and slowly she accomplished the task of sitting up on the bed.
“Took me long enough,” She complained through gritted teeth. “I hope he has a very good reason for leaving me alone in the morning after we got married.”
Slowly she turned to sit on the border of the low bed and stretched, feeling her back poop away all the kinks. With the sheet tightly wrapped around herself, Oksana started observing her surroundings. The fairy lights suddenly lighted up and brought some clarity into the room, or rather, the cave chamber she was in.
A few feet away from the bed she saw hers and Dima’s bags left carelessly on the floor. The thought of walking made her groan in despair. If sitting up was already a pain in the ass, then she didn’t even want to imagine what walking would feel like.
“Courage, Oksana. You wanted to explore last night, now you deal with the consequences.” She mumbled to herself and got up, taking slow steps towards the bags, hissing loudly with each one and putting up with the snickering of her demon inside her head.
“I swear, if you don’t shut up, I’ll get gramps Er to lock you away or something of the gender!” Oksana finally snapped after the succubus in her head mocked her for the twelfth time in two minutes.
She bent down to retrieve a grey shirt she had stolen from Dima from one of the bags and put it on. The shirt reached her mid-thigh and was loose and very comfortable on her skin.
“Now, to find some food.” She mumbled and looked around the room, trying to decide if she should take the stairs or go through the corridor.
‘There is a tray of food beside the bed, genius.’ Oksana heard her demon’s voice sarcastically call out to her, and sure enough, there was a box working as a bedside table with a tray and a note on top.
’I hope you sleep well, love! ♡
I’m sorry for not being there when you woke up, but Mato wanted to jump you again. I thought you would be sore and wanted you to rest, so I made breakfast as an apology. I also prepared the jacuzzi in our room for you to take a relaxing warm bath after you woke up. It’s on the first floor, the first door on the left (just take the stairs or if you’re hurting too much, take the elevator).
I went out to bring you a surprise, see you soon.
I love you 🖤
P.S - Feel free to explore the house. / I’m so sorry if you’re hurting. I promise I’ll do anything you want me to help you feel better after I return. / I hope you enjoy breakfast. Oh, and, in case you’re wondering, you need to go through the corridor and then up the staircase to get inside the house.′
‘Damn. Atta boy!’ The demon whistled loudly inside her head.
Why are you making unnecessary comments!? Oksana asked her demon, feeling exasperated with the thing.
‘Because I can.’ The demon sassed her back. ‘And my name is Vaela. I’m not a pet to be named.’
Ok, sorry, Vaela, but you’re still rude.
‘Bitch.’
See! You’re rude.
‘Never said I wasn’t.’
“I can’t believe I’m arguing with a demon inside my head,” Oksana commented and sat on the bed. She grabbed the tray and put it on her lap before lifting the covering. Inside she found a pile of six fluffy pancakes and a hot cup of ginger tea.
“I love this man!” She said and happily munched on her sweet food.
It didn’t take her long to finish eating due to how famished she was, and once she was done, she followed Dima’s instructions.
Oksana was in awe when she walked through the corridor and found water flowing in a ‘drawer’ excavated by the water in one of the walls.
Dima had some lamps light up the corridor in white light and some blue and other white lamps over the flowing water, illuminating it.
“He has a beautiful cave. I can’t wait to see the house!” She gushed and reached a steel door with a black handle.
The door was a challenge to Oksana. It was heavy, and for her sore muscles, it was a challenge to open it. But after a while of trying, she managed to do it with a small push from Vaela.
‘Thank fuck his strength and healing abilities will kick in soon. Otherwise, without me, you’re just dead meat. You can’t even open a door!’
And here I was going to thank you for helping me. Anyway, I’m not bitter like you. So, thank you, Vaela. You were a true sweetheart when you helped me. Oksana humbly told the demoness and let the door fall closed behind her, sitting on top of it afterward to get her breath back.
Vaela stilled inside Oksana’s conscience, and a small tint of black rushed to her cheeks. When she realized she was blushing, Vaela isolated herself from Oksana and went away for the time being before her human counterpart noticed her change.
Oksana noticed Vaela’s behavior, but since this had been the first time they talked properly, she didn’t know if this was her demoness’s normal behavior or not.
Ignoring her inner self’s behavior, Oksana took the opportunity to start looking around her surroundings. She was inside a storage room, but that wasn’t unnatural for a basement. Everything was clean and organized, and the door she was sitting on blended with the floor, so it went unnoticed by the inattentive eye.
She got up from the door and left the doorless storage room finding the basement divided in half by a corridor that led to stairs to the ground floor. Half of the basement was a big jym with mats, a boxing bag, weights, and other types of equipment. Whereas the side of the storage room was divided into two, the storage room and a simple office with one desk, a chair, a side lamp, a ceiling lamp, and a half-filled shelf. The basement was well thought out and organized. It just made her more excited to see the rest of the house.
Oksana went up the stairs to the ground floor and found herself behind a well-stocked bar in the living room. The bottles were all accumulating dust, so Dima’s claims of having stop drinking were corroborated by those.
She left the back of the bar and saw the living room. The floors were a white/light-bluish tile contrasting with the wood walls and the dark brown almost black front door. The space had large widows, not floor-length ones, and white embroidered curtains. The living room doors were also large and in dark brown wood.
Oksana explored the whole ground floor and found an ensuite room whose wallpaper looked oddly familiar, a bathroom and a big kitchen that looked exactly like her dream kitchen in all dark wood, grey stone, a table with black marble rock, and the counters in mixes in white and gray marble, with a stone oven with iron doors, a big pantry, a stove, and extra ovens and sinks in the opposite side of the pantry.
“Don’t tell me he did this for me...” She whispered in disbelief and ran upstairs to check the rest of the house.
On the first floor, there were two bathrooms and four bedrooms, one was the master’s bedroom with an ensuite, and it looked exactly like she had designed it! The rest were guest rooms until they had children of their own.
But to make sure she wasn’t imagining things, Oksana went to the second floor where the attic and the terrace were located.
The house was actually very big and beautiful.
When she reached the attic, she found it exactly like she had designed it on Dima’s tablet. There were loads of windows to keep the space light and easily aired, one wall was a chalkboard from top to bottom, and the others were white. And there was a second level with a small library, a few bean bags, and a comfy window seat. Underneath the second level of the attic were a big bed propped against a wall and a screen with a projector.
“This is definitely my dream house.” She whispered, overcome with emotion. “The only thing I haven’t checked is the terrace.” She said and headed to the double glass doors close by the bed.
The terrace had two garden rocking chairs, a few pots of flowers, a table with a fire pit, and an astounding view.
And it was while admiring that incredible view that Oksana saw Mato arriving with a deer hanging from his jaw. She remembered they always wanted to offer her something they hunted, so the sign didn’t faze her. Instead, it thrilled her that they had gone to all those lengths to make sure she was happy and comfortable while living with him.
“Dima!” She called to catch the bear’s attention. “DIMA!” The bear ignored her again or didn’t hear her, but she decided to try and call his name before she went downstairs to meet him. She was too happy to get annoyed at the bear’s attitude.
“MATO!” The bear instantaneously stopped walking and lifted his head, starting to look around for her. Once he spotted her, his eyes shined, and he shifted, Dima, taking his place in all his naked glory and a dazzling smile on his face.
“I’ll be right there, love!” He yelled to her, his smile still as big as ever, as he ran towards the house with the dead deer over his shoulders.
Oksana rushed down the stairs, the elevator she had seen wholly forgotten, and met him down by the back door where he had a place to take care of his catches and pool recently constructed.
“Good morning, my love!” Dima greeted and kissed her forehead before heading for her lips, blood, and deer forgotten.
“Good morning, Didi! Is that for me?” Oksana asked, pointing towards the deer. It was weird for her to see the animals she would eat like that, but she knew that if she was going to spend the rest of her life with a bear, she had to adapt.
“Yes! I hope you enjoy it. Mato and I chose the one with the prettiest fur and decent meat on its bones just for you.” He told her and showed her the soft pelt. “I just need to arrange it, and you’ll have a new blanket for our love nest in the cave.”
“Umhm, I love it. But I missed you.” Oksana mumbled, wrapping her arms around Dima’s neck and getting on her tip toes to kiss his lips lightly.
“I missed you too, my mate.” He answered, wrapping his arms around her waist and appreciating the soft kisses she peppered on his lips.
“But you wanna know something?”
“Umm...” He hummed, deepening their kiss after getting tired of her teasing.
“I haven’t gone to the jacuzzi yet. Do you want to join me?” She seductively whispered in his ear. All soreness forgot, and the only thing on her mind was him and her and the deep ache growing in her core, begging for Dima to squelch it.
“Really!?” He exclaimed surprised and inhaled deeply when the sweet scent of her arousal reached his nostril. “Then give me a second, my love, and I’m all yours!” He hurriedly replied, feeling her scent strengthening and watching her now dark brown eyes turning light pink. He rushed to the wood table he had dropped the deer on and opened a drawer filled with sharp knives.
“Take care of it, and don’t damage the skin.” He ordered the knives, and they left the drawer by themselves, starting to carve the deer.
“Now, we can go!” Dima lustfully growled and ran towards her, lifting her up bridal style and carrying her up the stairs to their room, where they enjoyed a delayed shower together, and afterward, the soothing hot water of the jacuzzi.
“I could stay like this forever.” Oksana lazily whispered to Dima, feeling all her muscles loosen with the hot water relaxing her and nestled more against Dima’s chest.
“Then do,” Dima whispered softly to Oksana and kissed her head that was perfectly perched on his shoulder.
