Chapter Chapter Eleven
Walla leaned against the wall, she sighed as Crowe stepped out.
Walla shifted her glance around before dropping it back onto Crowe who had stopped in front of Walla “We’re taking their children.”
Crowe didn’t need to ask who, she already knew. She calmy lead Walla away from Veronica’s room.
“They get six children a year, our fisherman disturb the celebration” Walla began before noticing Crowe’s confusion “I meet Mariana and The King. They are gorgeous, they celebrate births every year. The King refuses to give our fisherman back, he claims that he has control over the water.”
“Walla, my dear. You’re in a tough spot. The Four waters honour their births, according to legend.” Crowe paused her walking as she looked at Walla “The only course of action the legend speaks of is to stay off the water.”
“But it doesn’t look like them.” Walla blurted out “This thing has claws. The King nor Mariana have claws.”
“Just like us here, they have an army. Orders.” Crowe admitted.
Walla sighed “I need to stay down there.”
Horror ran over Crowe’s face “I beg to differ. Your only a child yourself.”
“Crowe, how am I supposed to find the truth? Everyone looks at me like I’m my father, I need to prove to them I’m not.” Walla tried to find a hint of reassurance in her words but failed.
“And if you die? Who will look after us?”
Walla looked around as nurses walked past.
