The Lycan’s King Breeder

Chapter 69

Maximus

POV.

I felt my baby's cries echo in my ears, like I was in a nightmare. But I was determined to get us out of this. I could feel the guards trying to grab me, but I refused to give up.

But at the last minute, the guard brought our baby up, and my heart started beating again.

Melezo just laughed cruelly, as if this was some kind of game to him.

"See? That's what happens when you cross me," he sneered.

I wanted to help my baby, but I was unable to.

I stared in horror, my heart pounding in my chest. I was facing an impossible decision; the guard was threatening to take away my family if I didn't comply with Melezo's demands. My hands twitched with the urge to break free from the guard's hold, but I was helpless. I couldn't risk the safety of my family.

"Fine," i growled. "I choose my family."

Melezo smiled victoriously, and the guard released his grip on felicity and the baby.

I growled at him. "You'll never get what you want, Melezo. Felicity and our child are not possessions."

Melezo just laughed and gestured towards the guards. "Take them away," he said.

The guards grabbed Felicity and the baby, holding them tightly as they struggled to break free.

He took them away from Melezo.

I struggled against Melezo's guards, my eyes burning with anger. "Let her go, you cowards!" I shouted.

But just as it looked like all was lost, I managed to get rid of the guards and pull a knife from my left boot. I aimed it above the heart of Melezo, who collapsed to the ground, losing blood.

I took advantage of a moment of inattention on his part and his guards.

Melezo's guards rushed towards me, but I fought them all off with skill and determination. Then I saw Felicity running away with our baby, and I knew I had to catch up to her.

She looked so desperate and hopeless, holding our crying baby close.

I finished fighting Melezo's guards then ran after her, hoping to catch up with her. I ran into the forest.

I heard her scream for help, and my heart sank.

"Please," she cried out. "Someone help me!"

I knew I had to find her. "Felicity! Felicity, where are you? Just hold on. I'm coming to get you," I shouted as I ran through the forest.

Finally, I saw her. "I'm here! I'm stuck on a mine!"

Panic welled up inside me, but I tried to stay calm. "Are you hurt?" I asked urgently.

She shook her head. "No, no, just stuck. I don't know how to get off."

I scanned the ground, looking for something to disarm the mine. "I need something to disarm it," I muttered to myself.

"Can you do it?" she asked, her voice shaking.

I looked up at her, my eyes fierce. "I have to try."

I stooped down and got to work, muttering to myself as I tried to figure out how to disarm the mine. I could feel the weight of Felicity's fear and desperation on my shoulders, but I didn't let it distract me from the task at hand. Finally, I stood up, sweat beading on my forehead.

I took Felicity's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. "Listen," I said. "I need you to be brave. I'm only going to be able to remove one of us from this mine, and it needs to be you."

She shook her head frantically. "No! I can't leave you here alone!"

I put a hand on her shoulder. "You have to," I said gently. "I promise you, I will find a way out of here. But you need to go first."

I could see the tears flowing down her face, but I knew I had to be strong for both of us. I would not let her down.

But then she looked into my eyes, and I saw the fear and uncertainty in them. I could feel her hesitation.

And then she spoke the words I had been waiting to hear for so long. "Maximus," she said, her voice shaking. "I love you," she blurted out, unable to hold back her feelings any longer. "And... the baby is yours, his name is Phoenix Hunter." I was shocked, but I wiped away her tears and said, "it'll be okay!"

I took the baby from his hands and went to put him a little further away.

I knew what I had to do. I had to make sure they were safe, no matter the cost.

I instructed her to lift her left foot, and I replaced it with my own. The same with her right. And just like that, she was free.

"Go," I said to her, my eyes pleading. "Take the baby and run. Don't look back."

She hesitated, and I could see the pain and sadness in her eyes. "I won't leave you behind," she said, her voice choked with tears.

But I knew she had to. I couldn't let her stay here with me. I had to make sure she was safe.

"You have to," I said. "I'll catch up with you. I promise. But you have to leave now."

She nodded, tears streaming down her face. "I'll wait for you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

As she turned to go, I felt a sense of sadness and regret wash over me. I didn't want to let her go, but I knew I had to.

I saw her walk away, heart in pieces, I had to tell her, tell her how I felt, so I took my courage in both hands,"I love you too, Feli," I said, my heart breaking at the thought of never seeing her again. "And I'll always love you!" "Can you do it?" she asked, her voice shaking.

I looked up at her, my eyes fierce. "I have to try."

She stopped, but surely didn't turn around, too scared to look me in the eyes.

I watched as she ran off into the darkness, knowing that I had to stay behind. I had a plan, and I hoped it would work.

The plan was risky, but it was the only way to defuse the mine. I took a deep breath and focused on the wire in front of me.

"I can do this," I muttered to myself.

Slowly, methodically, I cut the wire, each snip bringing me closer to safety. Sweat poured down my face as I worked, my heart beating wildly in my chest.

And then, finally, it was done. I stepped back, my heart pounding with relief, and watched as the mine triggered a second too late. The explosion hurled me through the air, and I landed hard on the ground, the ringing in my ears deafening. But I was alive. And now it was time to find Felicity.

I ran through the forest, my heart full of hope and fear. And then, finally, I saw her. She was sitting on a log, her head in her hands, tears streaming down her face.

"Felicity," I said, my voice trembling. "It's me."

She looked up, her eyes widening in shock. "Maximus?" she whispered.

I nodded, tears welling up in my own eyes. "I'm alive," I said, taking a step towards her.

She stood up slowly, her eyes fixed on mine. "I thought you were dead," she said, her voice choking with emotion.

I pulled her into my arms, holding her tightly. "I'm here," I said, my voice rough with emotion. "And I'm not going anywhere."

We stayed like that, holding each other tightly, as the tears poured down our faces. And in that moment, I knew that we had made it out alive. Together.

As the moments passed, our tears slowly began to dry up, and we pulled back from each other, our eyes meeting once again. For a moment, we simply stood there, gazing into each other's eyes, our breathing heavy and unsteady.

And then, without warning, she leaned in and kissed me. It was soft and gentle at first, but then it deepened, and our lips met with a hunger that we had both been suppressing for far too long.

Our kiss was a celebration of life, of love, and of the strength that we had both found in each other during our darkest moments. And as our lips finally parted, we knew that we would never be the same again.

For in that one moment, we had found a connection that would carry us through anything that the world could throw our way. Together, we would face whatever challenges lay ahead, secure in the knowledge that nothing could ever touch the love that we shared.
