Chapter 55
Felicity POV.
The next morning, I woke up with new resolutions. The friendship relationship between Ava and I was over. I didn't want a friend like her, a liar. If she hadn't told me such a futile thing, what kind of things could she be hiding from me? I made my way to the training room, trying to clear my head and focus on something else. Adrian was already there, waiting for me with a smile.
By dint of meeting often in training, we used to train together.
"You're early," he commented, stepping towards me.
Yes, I had arrived early, I hadn't slept well all night, I had thought too much about my future, my baby, my family. Brief of all.
I glared at him, feeling too overwhelmed to deal with his flirtation. "Can we just train, please?" I said, trying to keep my voice level.
Adrian seemed to sense my mood and backed off, beginning to lead me through the usual training drills. But as we worked, my mind kept drifting back to Ava and Kyle, and I found myself making careless mistakes. "Feli, are you okay?" Adrian asked, looking at me with concern.
I let out a frustrated sigh. "No, I'm not okay. Ava and Kyle were making out in the tech room, and I didn't know what to do."
Adrian's eyes widened in surprise. "What? Ava and Kyle. That's...unexpected."
I nodded, feeling tears prick my eyes. "I just feel so betrayed... And now I don't know who to trust."
Adrian took my hand, looking at me with sincerity. "You can trust me, Felicity. I'm here for you, no matter what. And if you need to talk, I'm here to listen."
I felt a surge of warmth in my chest at his words, and I realized that he was right. I may have lost Ava and Kyle, but I still had Adrian. And with him by my side, maybe I could get through this. "Thank you," I said, squeezing his hand.
He smiled at me, and we continued our training, feeling stronger together than ever before.
As we sparred, I felt my anger and frustration dissipate. It was comforting to have Adrian's presence and support, knowing that I wasn't alone in this situation.
After our training, Adrian walked me back to my room. "Just remember, Felicity, you're strong. You'll get through this."
I nodded, feeling a newfound determination. "Thanks to you, I know I will," I said, smiling gratefully at him.
As I entered my room, I still felt hurt, but my trust in my friendship with Adrian helped me. And that was all I needed to face the challenges ahead with confidence.

All I wanted right then, was to find information about what my parents had discovered before being killed.
I was searching in my head where I had seen that emblem before, but I still couldn't remember.
Jumping up from the bed, I quickly gathered Phoenix in my arms and made my way down to the headquarters' library. My mind was racing, trying to remember where I had seen the symbol of LOJ before.
As I walked through the aisles of books, I could see Kyle and Ava in the far corner, laughing and touching each other with love. I watched them disdainfully before turning my head away. They saw me and instantly stopped, but I didn't give a f**k.
I could hear their whispers and Kyle making his way towards me. "Feli, we need to talk."
I pushed him away, not kindly. "There's nothing to talk about. You both betrayed me in the worst way."
Ava spoke up, her voice trembling with emotion. "We're sorry, Feli. We never meant to hurt you."
I turned away from them both, feeling a surge of anger. "Sorry, don't cut it. Not when you've both kept such important secrets from me."
As I continued my search, Kyle and Ava remained quiet, watching me with guilty expressions. I finally came across a file that caught my eye. It was labeled with my parents' names, "Lily and Jack Monroe"and I knew that this was where I would find the answers I was looking for.
I quickly opened the file, scanning through the pages as fast as I could. My heart was pounding in my chest as I read through the words my parents had left behind.
"I knew it," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
Kyle approached me again, concern etched on his face. "Felicity, what is it? What did you find?"
"They were getting too close to something," I said, my voice shaking with anger. "Something which concerned several Alphas."
Ava's eyes widened. "What did they find out?"
"They never said," I replied, my fingers gripping the file tighter. "But they were getting too close to something. Something big."
I continued to read through the files, searching for any clues that would help me understand what my parents had been researching. As I pored over the pages, I could feel Kyle and Ava's eyes on me.
"What are you going to do?" Kyle asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I'm going to find out what my parents were working on," I replied, my voice determined. "And I'm going to make sure that the person pays for what he did to them."
Ava placed a hand on my shoulder, her eyes filled with tears. "We'll help you, Feli. We'll do whatever it takes."
I looked up at her, feeling grateful for her support. "Thank you," I said, my voice filled with emotion. "I don't know what I'd do without you both."
As we continued to search through the files, I knew that I had a long road ahead of me. But with Kyle and Ava by my side, I had the strength and support that I needed to continue my journey. And I knew that no matter what, I would find out the truth about my parents' death.
I was still trying to remember where I saw the emblem, and then, like magic, I remembered, it hit me, it was in Zarek's chambers where I was being held captive.
"I know where I saw it! In Alpha Zarek's chambers where I was being held captive."
Everyone turned to look at me, surprise etched on their faces.
"In his chamber, there was a chest with a secret code on the wall with that emblem on it, and also on a book, I remember well."
Ava's eyes widened. "We need to see that book."
I nodded, feeling a sense of purpose. "Let's go!"
Alpha Zarek's castle we are on the way!
