The Lycan’s King Breeder

Chapter 19

My mind raced as I tried to process the situation. We had to act fast, and we had to act smart. The fear in my gut turned into full-fledged panic as I turned to Ava, my eyes locking with hers. "Ava," I whispered urgently. "We have to go, now. They're going to break down the door any second."

Ava's face paled as she assessed the situation. "We can't stay here," she said, her voice shaking. "We have to find another way out."

My mind raced as I tried to come up with a plan. "There's the underground kitchen hatch," I suggested. "It may be our only chance."

Ava nodded, her eyes filled with determination. "Okay, let's go."

As we hurried towards the hatch, the sound of the door banging against the door frame grew louder. With each passing second, my heart threatened to burst out of my chest. "We have to hurry," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"I'll slow them down," Ava said resolutely. "Go, get out of here."

I shook my head. "No, Ava. I can't let you face them alone. We'll go together, we'll find a way out."

Ava's jaw set in determination. "We have no choice," she said. "They'll catch both of us."

I felt a lump form in my throat as the weight of the situation hit me. "I won't leave without you," I said firmly, tears streaming down my face. "We'll find a way out together."

But Ava's eyes softened as she looked at me. "Please, just go," she whispered. "We can't get by with two, they'll catch us, alone, maybe you can get by."

I shook my head, grabbing her hand tightly. "I won't leave you behind. Never."

We could hear a louder knock on the door, and a sense of urgency set in. Ava and I embraced each other tightly, tears streaming down our faces. "I love you," she said, her voice breaking.

"I love you too," I replied, my voice shaking. "Don't worry, we'll make it out of here together."

Ava hesitated for a moment, then quickly unclasped the necklace she was wearing and placed it in my hand. "Take this," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "It'll keep you safe."

I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at the delicate necklace, tears falling freely down my cheeks. "I can't leave you behind," I said, my voice choked with emotion.

Ava brushed away my tears, a sad smile on her face. "You have to," she said, her voice fierce. "Don't look back, just go."

As I left the room, I could hear the sound of the door crashing down, and the rough footsteps of the men entering the room. I didn't look back, knowing that Ava had given me her blessing to escape.

I clutched the necklace tightly in my hand, feeling a sense of security wash over me. As I made my way through the underground kitchen hatch, I knew that I would never forget Ava, and the sacrifice she had made for me. As I emerged from the kitchen, I heard someone call out to me. "Hey you! Stop right there!"

I froze, but then a voice in my head urged me forward. "Run, don't stop!"

I sprinted down the corridor, my heart pounding in my chest. The necklace in my hand gave me strength and courage.

"Stop right there!" The voice behind me grew louder and nearer.

But I didn't stop. I kept running until I found myself on the other side of the village, surrounded by dense forest. I slumped against a tree, panting heavily.

At that moment, it came to me like an illumination, the voice I heard was Elias's voice.

"The f*****g traitor" I yelled angrily.

I regret showing him our house. I cursed myself for that.

"Are you okay?" A voice interrupted my thoughts, and I looked up to see a young man with a kind face.

"I... I think so," I replied shakily. "Thank you for asking."

He smiled at me, and there was something about him that made me feel safe. "Need a ride somewhere? I have a truck."

I hesitated, but then nodded my head. "Thank you. I don't really know where to go."

He helped me into the passenger seat of his truck, and we set off down the road. "You know, I've seen a lot of people running from that place," he said after a few minutes of silence. "You're not the first." I shifted in my seat, still feeling tense. "What is that place, anyway?"

He glanced over at me briefly before turning his attention back to the road.

"Well, that place is the village which is rule by Alpha Zander," he said with a sigh. "He rules with an iron fist, and anyone who dares to question him or go against his wishes suffers dire consequences."

My heart sank as I listened to him. "What kind of consequences?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

The man looked at me gravely. "Oh, anything from being banished to being tortured or killed. The Alpha likes to make an example out of those who dare to defy him."

I shuddered, feeling sick to my stomach. "And you've seen people running away from there before?" I asked.

He nodded, his jaw set in determination. "Yes, many times. But most people never make it out. They get caught and brought back, or worse."

As we drove through the forest, the man told me about life in the nearby town and how they had dug tunnels as a means of escape in case of emergencies. "We never know when we might need them," he said with a wry laugh. "Yes!" I say without really paying attention to what he was telling me.

I wondered how many people were still trapped there, under his cruel and tyrannical rule? I vowed to never forget Ava and what she had sacrificed for me. I just hoped she wouldn't be killed.

And I vowed to fight for justice, for the freedom of all those trapped in that dreadful place and even elsewhere.

He parked in the middle of the forest and then he turned off the engine and turned to me. "Listen, I have to go. I can't continue with you."

I looked at him with a mixture of confusion and disappointment. "What do you mean? Where are you going?"

"I have a job to do," he said curtly. "It's not safe for you to come with me."

I felt a pang of sadness and regret.

"Thank you for your help, I appreciate everything you've done." I said. "I don't know what would have happened to me if you hadn't stopped."

He smiled. "I'm just glad I could be of assistance. Stay safe, okay?" Just be careful, okay? Don't trust anyone in that town."

"I will," I said, getting out of the car. "Take care of yourself too."

I got out of the truck, clutching the necklace tightly in my hand. One thing was certain - I had a guardian angel watching over me, in the form of Ava's necklace.

As I walked away, I couldn't shake off the feeling of loneliness and isolation, knowing that I was on my own once again.

But as I thought about Ava and the others trapped in that place, I knew that I couldn't give up. I had to keep fighting for their freedom, no matter what it takes.

I walked further into the forest, my mind racing with thoughts of the Alpha and his tyrannical rule. As I walked deeper and deeper into the darkness, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was being watched. Suddenly, I heard a rustling in the bushes and my heart leapt into my throat. Was it the Alpha's men? Was I finally going to be caught?
