Chapter 102

POV.

Once we were a safe distance away, Adrian started speaking in a hushed tone. "So, I wanted to talk to you about Maximus."

I furrowed my brow, not sure where he was going with this. "Okay, what about him?"

Adrian's voice dropped even lower, "He's not a good man for you."

I stopped walking and turned to face him, "What do you mean?"

"He's dangerous, he's made enemies, and he's not the right fit for you," Adrian explained.

I furrowed my brow, "I appreciate your concern, but I'm capable of making my own choices."

Adrian hesitated for a moment before saying, "I understand. I just worry about you."

"Thank you, but I've got this," I reassured him.

As we continued our walk, Adrian spoke up again," Feli, I still love, I tried to forget you but I can't!"

I stopped walking and turned to face him. "Look, we've already talked about this. I don't share the same feelings for you. I just love him you a big brother, like I love my brother Kyle. You need to understand this once and for all," I said firmly.

He put his hand on my shoulder to stop me from turning around. "I know, I just can't help how I feel. I want what's best for you," he said, his voice filled with concern.

"I appreciate that, but I know what's best for me. And it's Maximus," I said, a hint of frustration creeping into my voice.

"But I don't understand. I thought we had a connection," he said, sounding pained.

"We do have a connection, but it's not a romantic one," I said firmly. "You have to understand this once and for all."

He seemed defeated. "Fine. But can I ask you something else?"

"Sure," I replied.

"Do you remember seeing me with Kim?" he asked.

"Yeah, I do," I answered.

"Well, I only did that to make you jealous. I don't actually like her. I like you," he confessed.

I was shocked. "What? That's not okay. You can't use someone like that. You need to tell Kim the truth."

"I know, I know. I'm sorry. I just really like you," he said, sounding desperate.

"I understand that, but it doesn't excuse your behavior," I scolded him. "You need to tell Kim the truth and be honest about your feelings."

"Why did you push me away?" he asked suddenly. "Is it because I'm not handsome, charming, or strong enough?"

"No, it's not that at all. I just don't feel the same way about you," I said, trying to be as gentle as possible.

He persisted. "But don't you see? Maximus and you have problems. You should take advantage of the opportunity to go out with me instead," he urged.

I was getting frustrated now. "That's not how it works. I can't just switch my feelings on and off like a light switch."

"And besides, how could you still love Maximus when you know it was his father who killed your parents?"

He had a point. I had been feeling cold towards Maximus lately because of the situation with his father, but I didn't want to admit it out loud. "You're right," I said quietly.

Adrian continued to insult Maximus, calling him a "manipulator" and "mean" in front of me. I could feel my anger building up inside, but I tried to stay calm and listen to Adrian's rant. However, when he started to get aggressive and physical, I knew I had to put a stop to it.

"Hey, Adrian, that's enough," I said firmly, trying to sound as calm as possible. "You can't talk about Maximus like that. What's with all the hostility?"

I exclaimed, feeling my anger rise within me.

Adrian sneered at me. "Oh, I'm sorry if I offended your precious Maximus. Maybe I should have just kept my mouth shut?"

"I think that would have been a good idea," I said, taking a step back from Adrian.

Adrian shrugged nonchalantly. "I'm just telling you how I see it. You can't be blind to the truth, Feli."

"Look, I don't want to argue with you anymore. I don't want to hear any more of your lies, Adrian. This isn't good for me or the baby. Let's just go our separate ways."

"Listen..." He started, but I cut him off, I didn't want to hear his lies and nonsense anymore.

"This conversation is over," I said firmly, turning to leave.

But Adrian wasn't ready to give up before I could take a step, he grabbed my wrist tightly, refusing to let go. His demeanor suddenly changed, and I felt a wave of fear wash over me.

"What are you doing, Adrian?" I asked, trying to pull my wrist free.

"Shh," Adrian whispered, covering my mouth with his hand and pulling me towards the nearby forest.

I felt the panic rising in my chest as he dragged me towards the forest. I struggled against his grip, feeling a knot of fear in my stomach.

"Let me go," I screamed, as Adrian forced me deeper into the woods. "Maximus!"

But there was no answer. The only sound was the rustling of leaves and the thud of my heart.

"Adrian, please, just let me go," I pleaded, feeling the tears start to stream down my face.

I panicked and tried to fight back, but his strength was too much for me. My heart raced as he threw me to the ground and climbed on top of me, kissing and caressing me despite my protests and screams.

Adrian was no longer the man I knew. He was a monster, full of rage and insanity. His hands was exploring my body as I screamed in terror.

"I hate you!" I shouted, trying to fight him off. "Get away from me!"

But Adrian was too strong. He pinned me down, his lips on my neck, his hands pulling at my clothes.

"Adrian, stop! Get off of me!" I yelled desperately, feeling like he was turning into a monstrous figure before my eyes.

But his grip on me only tightened, and I realized that I needed to do something to defend myself.

Suddenly, I felt a surge of energy. Summoning all my strength, I lifted my knee and kicked him as hard as I could in the testicles. Adrian howled in pain, and and I used the opportunity to scramble to my feet and run, not knowing where I was going. It was already night and it was dark.

I dashed through the trees, feeling the branches slap me in the face. My foot caught on a root, and I went sprawling to the ground. I turned to see Adrian behind me, his face twisted in anger.

"You're not getting away that easily," he growled, grabbing me by the hair and pulling me up.

He slapped me hard, making my head spin. I felt the bile rise in my throat as he pulled me down.

"This is all your fault Feli. It's because of you that I hit you. Be docile and I won't hit you again! "He said with his psycho voice.

"Please, Adrian, stop this," I begged, tears streaming down my face.

Adrian just laughed, his grip on me tightening. "You had your chance, baby. Now you'll pay."

"Please, Adrian, let me go. You love me, remember?" I pleaded, hoping he would see reason.

But he only became more determined to keep me with him. He dragged me along, telling me that we were going to live far away from everyone else.

"I don't want to go with you, Adrian. I don't love you," I said, hoping to appeal to his compassion.

But he wouldn't listen, and when I tried to run again, he caught me and started hitting me harder than before. In an attempt to keep me from escaping again, he tied me up with ropes from nearby trees and carried me on his head to an abandoned cabin. "Stay here! I'll be back soon! Be good Feli or you'll regret it." He threatened me.

"Where are you going?" I asked my broken voice.

"It's none of your business." He answered dryly.

He tied my mouth with the tape he found in the cabin gave me a kiss and then, he threw me into the cabin roughly, and I heard the door slam shut behind him. I was alone, bound and gagged, with no hope of escape.

I sat there in despair, thinking that there was no hope for me. But I held onto the hope that Maximus would find a way to rescue me from Adrian's clutches and this godforsaken place.

I could only pray that Maximus would find me in time.
