The Lovenina princesses: New Beginnings (Book 1)

Chapter 4

~ Everyone ~

“Alright, in Gemanina every royal bloodline has a gem or gems to protect from dark forces,” Hunter explained to the girls.

“Aka witches,” Ella added.

“They want to rule over all of Gemanina by taking all the kingdoms’ gems that give royals their power, which keeps the balance of this world in order.”

“Ella and I belong to the Space kingdom of Starina. We have two parts of the Star gems, like how you both have a piece of the Heart gem.”

“Our kingdom is separated by a North and South side, each side has its own castle, but we still rule together.”

“Other kingdoms have shared communities with only one castle and take turns on certain duties with ruling, however, you two are from the Stand-alone kingdom of Lovenina. The strongest kingdom that is located right in the middle of all the other kingdoms in Gemanina. Two queens ruled with their kings and shared one castle.”

Rose looked down at her puny figure, Why am I part of the strongest bloodline I can barely deal with bullies without Lucy being around, I’m not strong or powerful. It must be a mistake.

“Hey, what's wrong?” Lucy whispered, seeing how slumped and fragile Rose looked staring at her lap.

“N-nothing, just thinking.” Rose declared, fixing her posture.

“You sure?”

“Yes, just taking in all the information.” She whispered, before turning her attention back on Hunter.

“How many gems your kingdom protects is based on your kingdom status of power, such as if it is a powerful kingdom the royal protectors usually have the responsibility to protect two gems that are halves of each other.”

“These halves make both protectors be able to share the power and increase spells with the gems unconnected or connected, while an in-between or weaker kingdom only protects one completed gem. Which only allows one protector at a time to use the special power and can only increase one-person spell.”

“Sorry, I am getting off-topic about how you two are connected to all this…we’ve been looking for you girls, since we all got told the Lovenina Princesses would return when the people of Gemanina needed them the most, and after the Queens of Lovenina got captured many thought the princesses will make a comeback, however, no one had seen or heard anything for years. So, most kingdoms gave up and went into hiding waiting for the war to stop on its own.”

Ella smiled, “But we never gave up and coward into hiding. We decided to look for the princesses hoping they would help us bring Gemanina back to its glory before King Raven took over.”

“W-W-ait…what—”

“Shh, let him finish the story,” Rose chuckled, covering Lucy’s mouth.

“Your mothers were the last protectors of your kingdom gems, but I am guessing, because they got captured the gems showed themselves to you guys, to bring you here to help us.”

“HUNTER!” Ella shouted.

“Oh, I am sorry—um when the gems show themselves to the next protectors it… um, usually means the old ones are gone.” Hunter informed, twisting his gem between his pointer finger and thumb.

💖

“It is fine, we know our birth parents are probably gone—” Lucy replied, mimicking Hunter’s movements.

Rose cut her off with a smile, “See you were not wrong we are princesses.”

“Yeah, I guess…so how do we fight this King Raven?”

“Good question, we have a training schedule to study new spells and potions for battles, however, you can start by getting used to transforming into your royal mode. Before you ask it is a powerup that only royals can unlock with their gems, it acts as armor that stores weapons and your energy during fights.” He answered, letting go of his gems and tapping Lucy’s.

“These royal modes also help with storing your mana, but we will talk more about that when you start your training. If you do choose to follow the prophecy and help us take back Gemanina.” Ella explained.

Lucy sighed, So…totally no pressure.

Why don’t you demonstrate, Ella.” He suggested guiding her to the center of the room.

“Ok, to be able to transform you need to make sure you have three things, first your gem that holds your power. Second your mana at full level—”

“It sucks when you are in the middle of a battle and you have to wait for your mana to reset while you are healing,” He added.

Ella continued, “And third you need to be at peak health; after transforming your body will need time to heal and restore the load of mana and energy you used during your transformation.”

“So technically you shouldn’t just do it whenever you like, and you should wait until you absolutely need the extra protection and mana.”

“But for today we can break that rule. Now after you made sure you have those three things all you got to do is clear your head and put all your focus on transforming. Then the last part is the easiest you just cheer your title and kingdom in a badass tone like you are about to kick someone’s ass.” Ella laughed, getting a glance at the girls’ shocked faces, before closing her eyes.

“ELLA PRINCESS OF STARNINA!”

Suddenly Ella’s skin started to glow, while her body flew into the air. Golden mist formed tiny, shining stars that outlined her body transforming her outfit into the royal armor.

An explosion of light covered the room and in a blink, she was back on her feet, with sparkles forming around her creating her glamourous shoes.

“You look so beautiful… uh I mean you… wow!” Rose stuttered as she took in Ella’s glowing, iridescent, fading into red-violet, spaghetti strap flowing dress with glittering star detail trailing the skirt. The transformation ended with matching golden, platform heels forming from the light.

Ella gave a wide smile, “I know what you meant, thank you.”

“That is amazing, it is an elegant princess dress, but there is a glowing invisible armor built into it,” Lucy exclaimed as she saw Ella pull out potions from an invisible scabbard.

“Yeah, it is pretty stylish and helpful.”

“Can we try now?!” Rose asked with her eyes glistening like a child that just saw piles of presents under the Christmas tree.

“Of course, go for it!”

“Wait, do you have some prince mode that makes you glow like that?” Lucy questioned Hunter as she elbowed him.

“Um, yes, but I rather use my muscles I only transform if I am really in a pickle.”

“Which is all the time, but he is embarrassed about glowing like a star,” Ella added as she messes up his hair.

“Hey! I am not always in trouble it’s just I—”

Lucy chirp in, “Can you show us?”

“No, I am not going to waste energy with transforming when there is no threat,” He snapped, fixing his hair.

“He is a big grumpy head, you two just try to unlock your transformation you will see his’s soon,” Ella said, winking at him.

“OOO, me first!” Rose begged.

She stood where Ella once was and focus on pinpointing the magic. Closing her eyes, she felt a tingling sensation telling her to clear her mind.

“ROSE PRINCESS OF LOVENINA!”

Rose’s skin started to glow as her feet magically step into a graceful pirouette, as mint glitter spun around her forming tiny, sparkling hearts.

In comparison with Ella, the room was taken over by a blinding blast of light.

She was in a fabulous, mint-v-cut layer dress that contrasts her brunette hair beautifully.

The sleeves were puffy, princess sleeves that look like they were pulled right out of a fairytale.

Her top was a reverse corset that included more detail than Ella’s. With peach lace crossing together until a lace heart forms on the v-cut part of the dress.

The skirt of the dress was a short, puffy skirt that had extra layers with sparkling white rose details. The look ended with shimmering, stockings forming around her legs, with glowing white flats.

“Rose, you look like you just popped out of a fairytale,” Lucy pointed out, gasping at her best friend’s new, glowing dress.

“I know, I love it!”

“Makes sense, every royal mode outfit is created from that person’s personality,” Ella informed the girls.

“Lucy, your turn,” Rose smiled, hugging her.

She laughed as she hugged her back, “I don’t know Rose I think you win with the finest royal mode, no offense Ella.”

“None was taken, Rose’s really is so magical, but elegant.

“W—hat! Are you kidding your dress was literally formed from stars.” Rose exclaimed as she spun Ella.

“God, I swear being the only boy here sucks—.”

“Are you telling me you weren’t joining the “fight” of who transformation and outfits are the most extraordinary.” Lucy teased as she poked Hunter’s shoulder.

“Well, there isn’t that much competition… You will win always… you all would look amazing, so if I am correct it is your turn.” He answered as he poked Lucy’s nose.

The girls stop their conversation about their dresses as they turn around and observe Lucy and Hunter’s interaction.

“Ok here goes nothing.” Lucy chuckled, turning away from the boy.

Clearing her crazy thoughts about the strange, but wonderful new people they had met. She slammed her eyes shut putting all her feelings toward transforming.

“LUCY PRINCESS OF LOVENINA!”

Lucy’s skin glowed as red mist slowly formed, glittering hearts around her right arm entwining her arm with opera-length, white, lace gloves. The mist swirled around her other arm as it repeated the process.

The room lit up like the Fourth of July as the mist covered her in a blinding light, forming her clothes swiftly into a shining, royal red dress. Diamonds that matched the Heart gem formed an elegant train.

The room turn back to normal as she stumbled forward, losing her footing as her mind came back to reality.

“Wow, quick and to the point like me,” Lucy exclaimed, lifting her hands up to look at the classy opera gloves. “Hmm, I never thought I was a gloved person.”

She was in a strapless, elegant, short, red dress with a train.

The top was lace with golden glittering heart details, while the skirt was solid red.

The train on the other hand was covered in tiny crystals trailing the side. The outfit was completed with white, glittering, chunky high heels.

“Wow, you look amazing!” Hunter blurted out, regretting it the second he did knowing his cheeks had flushed red.

“That is all I get amazing, not drop-dead gorgeous or ravishing?” She asked as her face also lit up red.

“I… uh you… really are… Luc-y…I… um,” He cleared his throat; “You look beautif— I mean like a true queen.”

She laughed anxiously, “I was messing with you Hunter, you didn’t have to up your compliment game.”

“Oh,” Hunter’s voice cracked as he tried to push away the thoughts of Lucy’s lips meeting his.

Jeez, come on Hunter stop it! She told you herself she isn’t here to create a relationship; besides, she hates your guts. But then why does her ice blue eyes make my heart race, and why do my hands tremble whenever she speaks. When I caught eye contact with her back in town I swear her skin glittered in the sunlight, while her long, wavy black hair shined like the night sky. Those dark freckles around her nose blended with the peach shade of her skin like a beautiful painting.

“Hello, hunter, can you answer my question?” She asked, waving her hands in front of his’s face.

He got out of his thoughts as he notice Lucy was inches away from his face.

She was so short, that she had to stand on her tippy toes, since she is only up to my chest. I am not listening to her; I do not care what comeback she is saying to me I just like how close she is, it makes me feel like I just ran a marathon with the way my heart is pounding.

“HUNTER!”

“AH, WHAT?!” Hunter shouted as he was knocked out of his thoughts once again.

“Seriously, I’ve been asking you the same question can you please answer it?” She asked getting off her tippy toes.

“Oh, can you repeat it,” He said now looking down at the girl.

“I asked if you could show us your transformation now?” She asked again with a smile.

God, that smile!

“No, I already told you I am not going to transform when there is no threat.”

“Come on nothing is going to happen if you transform for one second, loosen up.”

“I SAID NO!”

“Um, I will go get some tea from the kitchen for everyone,” Ella suggested, stepping between Lucy and Hunter.

💖

CRASH!

BAM!

Hunter’s focus came back to the outside world, “They are here you—”

Lucy cut Hunter off, “Who is here?”

“You girls need to de-transform and hide,” Hunter demanded as he shoved Lucy and Rose into the next hallway

“What why?” Lucy asked, finding her footing on the rough floor.

“Raven’s minions are here I can hear them they do not know the Lovenina Princesses are back, we cannot let them find out, and report back to Raven. Now go hide in one of the rooms until I come back.”

He demanded pushing them toward the multiple arching doorways that cover the long, endless hallway.
