The Legacy of the Alpha King: Hiding his Secret Twins

Chapter 160 by Ebony Woods

I don’t deserve her. I don’t deserve the twins…even this new baby but they’ve forgiven me…they’ve been willing to move on and show me the love I didn’t even realise I was living without.

The love I’ll protect with my life.

“Alpha, Beta has returned along with the Silver Moon Beta.” One of my guards at the Silver Moon gate announces to me through the mind – link.

My men were still taking it in turns to pair up with the Silver Moon pack members for jobs around the pack, all of them taking to each other like an extended pack family.

I slowly climb out of bed, unwrapping Evelyn’s arms off me before placing my pillow where I was for her to cuddle.

I kiss the back of her neck as she reaches out for me and embraces the pillow instead. My remaining scent on it, satisfying her a ouch whilst she slept.

Heading downstairs I enter her office and fire up the computer. I needed to check on Red Stone pack business as well as decide on which land to buy for us to build a new house on.

Noah walks into the office, looking around I presume for Evelyn.

“She’s asleep.” I offer to him, as I lion up from the computer.

“Explains why her block is up.” He yawns as he sits at the round table, rubbing at the back of his neck. They had both been up all night sorting out things at Sickle Peak. My gratitude to them was immense indeed.

“I appreciate you both remaining…”

“It’s fine, Natascha didn’t return so one of the neighbouring alphas has sent his beta over to keep an eye on things. He promises to report daily.” Nate responds also taking a seat.

At least that was something.

All of the neighbouring packs were also part of my alliance so it saved me having to sort out an immediate replacement.

It was odd that Natascha hadn’t returned though, unless she had heard what happened and decided to keep away for now. Wait for the dust to settle.

“Did you burn the body?”

“All taken care of.” Nate responds his eyes darting sideways to Noah who know has a frown on his face.

“I couldn’t let him have a funeral Noah, I’ll just have to face the backlash from my council when I return.”

“As long as that backlash doesn’t also fall upon Evelyn…”

“Of course not, I know how to protect my mate Noah.” I sigh, my hands rubbing at my eyes. Maybe I should have slept.

“Well if you are okay to debrief I’ll go check in with Cassandra and catch up on some rest.” Noah says standing up, looking to Nate with a pointed look.

Once the door has closed behind him, I feel a sense of unease hit me through the pack link from Nate.

“Everything okay?”

He takes a moment to look at me, as if deciding on what to exactly update me оп.

“It can’t be good if you’re delaying.” I chuckle slightly looking at my beta.

“I think I just need to sleep. It’s been a long night.” He admits as he rubs at his eyes, no doubt seriously in need of some rest and caffeine to get him through to nightfall.

“Well kids are out, so this will be the quietest house in the pack. I’ll wake you up if the men report anything new.”

“Have you slept?”

“I’m fine, I’d rather let Evelyn sleep undisturbed.”

I watch my Beta leave my mate’s office as I turn my attention on to my emails. I try to push aside this feeling of uncertainty slowly growing inside of me. I was over tired. If I can push through today I’ll be able to sleep well tonight and feel more rested tomorrow.
