Chapter 151 by Ebony Woods
Evelyn POV
“Wait…wait Reuben, I’m protected by the Red Stone alliance…you have to protect me.” Renard starts to plea with Reuben. His arrogance of only a second ago, now turning slightly to show some signs of fear that his plans are starting to backfire.
That he has given his lifelong support to a man that isn’t here to protect him, to defend him.
“The Silver Moon alliance works outside of my jurisdiction; my hands are tied…” I don’t need to turn to see the devious smirk that has formed on Reuben’s face, I can feel his delight at the loophole through our mate bond.
Noah and I start to gain distance on Renard down the middle aisle, Noah remaining on my left.
As the centre aisle ends, we both fan out on a slowly retreating Rennard… retreating like a caged animal.
His own warriors are blocked from accessing the room, are they even trying? The pack members noticed our arrival, surely they would have sent for fighters through the pack link?
The Red Stone warriors hold back by Reuben guarding the doors, unable to assist at this moment in time but I know they won’t leave us…they would never leave us.
Just as mine, wouldn’t leave them.
My warriors spread out, mirroring mine and Noah’s stance to form a barrier to prevent Renard from escaping.
This man has conspired with Odin to kill Reuben and also take the Silver Moon pack forcibly from me. The pack that is Rex’s, both packs are part of Rex’s legacy.
A new kingdom under is command when he is of age. Bringing both alliances together for a united shifter community.
I can’t let this man live; he will remain a threat.
“You won’t do anything, you can’t… there are witnesses. Witnesses to your downfall.” He points out purposefully at the alphas in the room. Expecting them to stand with him against us.
“He’s right, he has witnesses…” My wolf moans in my head, her energy still low but she’s been speaking to me more frequently. The vitamins Noah started to give us helping to replenish her energy.
I turn to face every alpha in the room.
Each one I look at, in their eyes.
They aren’t part of my alliance, I can’t command them…I can only hope they will back me, back Reuben.
I’m surprised as one by one they stand up, giving me a supportive nod before turning their backs and walking out of the room.
One by one.
They all do it, leaving only the Silver Moon and Red Stone warriors with their alphas and betas.
All leave…but one. The alpha’s son quirks his eyebrow at me. Shouldn’t he have left with his father?
Returning my eye back on the prize, I turn to find Renard’s face a ghostly white…his eyes watching as each and every alpha leaves…not one stays to help him.
Realising his mistake, he falls to his knees, his hands forming into a praying motion.
“Please…please…”
“Tell me where he is?” I lowly growl.
“I can’t he’ll kill me…” His eyes flash around the room, planning one last attempt to flee.
“I’m about to kill you!” I unleash my aura on to him, his body tensing under my command.
He doesn’t say anything, he just shakes his head. He really wasn’t going to give us the information on where Odin was hiding? He really valued Odin’s life over his? Over his own pack.
“Your pack will be alpha-less…think of your people…” Noah makes one last attempt to reach Renard’s alpha side, the side that was meant to think of their pack first, before others.
“What happened to the Silver Moon compassion? Your Father was always compassionate…he always saw the best in people.”
“Don’t you dare mention my Father.” I roar out loud, the walls feeling as if they were shaking under the strain of my roar. A burning hot flame starting in the pit of my stomach.
I can feel Reuben pushing on the mate bond, trying to calm me down but I push him out.
“The Silver Moon always prided themselves on teaching a different way, helping those to see the pure light of the moon. They never killed in cold blood…are you capable of doing that Alpha Evelyn? Killing an unarmed man? Someone who is pleading with you for a second chance?”
