The Last White Wolf

I woke up in the middle of the night still wrapped in Ares’ arms. My whole body felt too hot and my muscles were starting to throb and ache all over. My head was also spinning and pounding. I slowly moved out of Ares song hold sitting upright when a sudden wave of nausea hit me. I squeezed my eyes shut, I pulled my head between my knees, the throbbing pain becoming more unbearable by the minute.

Ares stirred next to me “Άγγελος (Angel), what is wrong?” Ares asked, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. “I don’t know... everything hurts...” I said with tears in my eyes. Every inch of my body is in pain. A sudden sharp pain sliced through me and made me curl up into a ball, tears now running down my cheeks.

Ares POV

“Thalia? Are you okay?” I asked, now wide awake, feeling the pain she is in through our mate bond. I don’t understand why she is in such pain... I don’t want her to be in pain.

Thalia was now curled up into a ball, tears staining her beautiful cheeks. My concern grew bigger inside me, “Tell me άγγελος (angel), what hurts?” I asked the concern stained in my voice, almost breaking it. I pull her into my arms trying to comfort her from all the pain. “Everything!! Everything hurts...” she cried out. “I’m taking you to the infirmary άγγελος (angel), everything will be okay,” I said kissing her hair, trying to reassure her. She was now whimpering in agony.

I quickly got out of bed when Thalia gave out an agonizing scream of pain. “Ares, please help me! It hurts so bad!!” she cried. I quickly picked her up in my arms and started to carry her towards the infirmary.

I carried Thalia towards the infirmary, just outside the pack house, when her body started to shake badly. I gazed towards her face and saw that her eyes are squeezed tightly, she gave out an unendurable scream again, and I swear I heard a growl coming from her.

Thalia’s eyes suddenly flew open and what I saw made me stop dead in my tracks. Her eyes were glowing... her one eye was bright green and the other one was bright blue. I could hear and feel her bones moving under her skin. It all makes sense now... But I don’t understand how this is even possible... Thalia is changing into a werewolf...

Thalia POV

Ares placed me down gently on the cool grass. He said he was taking me to the infirmary, I don’t understand what is happing. “It’s going to be okay άγγελος (angel), I’m right here” Ares whispers into my ear. I not sure why, but somehow, I believed him. I tried to talk to him, but it was impossible to shape words out of my mouth due to the unbearable pain. I could feel how my body was burning up like I was placed inside an oven.

I was staring into Ares eyes trying to communicate with him, begging him to help me. I saw his eyes glazed over and not long after that, I saw some medical staff running towards us.

The intense heat was spreading through my whole body and I could feel how my limbs were bending and braking. The one female nurse came to my side and checked my pulse and listened to my heart with a stethoscope “She is changing. All we can do is wait.” The nurse said. What change? Why is no one helping me? It feels like I’m dying! I wanted to scream at them but all that came out was cries of pain.

Ares sat next to my trying to soothe me by stroking my hair. I hunch over while my arms are snapping to the side and then back, I let out a loud scream when my one leg twisted and broke and then rearrange itself.

I don’t know what is happening. Why is no one helping me? It feels like my fingers and toes are lengthening and my arms and legs bending and reshaping itself. My gums hurt like hell and I could feel something moving out of my gums.

My hands started to change into paws. Bones keep snapping then changing and snapping again. I just want the pain to stop. The hair on my body is growing and white fur is sprouting out of my pores. I saw Ares telling me something, but I could hear anything over the pain.

Everything around me was going dark. And the pain finally stopped.

Ares POV

I can’t believe my eyes. Lying before me was a pure white wolf... Thalia has shifted completely now. Her wolf looked amazing. She must be the last of her kind. Her wolf is a bit smaller than mine. The Luna has truly blessed me...
