Chapter 69
When my friends and I made it up to the pack house my mother literally was vibrating with energy and ran to me before leaping and giving me a hug. When she pulled back she had unshed tears in her eyes and I looked over at Blake’s mom Natasha and she was crying too. She, of course, pulled me into a hug as well and I looked back at my friends trying to get them to help me but they just shook their head at me before turning to say hi to my mom.
“I cannot believe my Blakey is mated to such a beautiful and strong girl. I never thought this would happen.” Natasha cried as she stepped back and wiped her tears.
“You never thought he would have a mate or you never thought that he’d have a pretty mate?” I was in a bit of shock with this confession.
“Honestly with the way he hangs out with Andrew and used to hang out with the traitor Richard I thought he would end up with no mate or they would get one mate all together which I would feel so bad for that poor girl. Not because of Andrew but Richard. He was always a bad seed.” She shakes her head in disapproval.
“Are you upset that Andrew and Blake have to share a mate a long with three other males for now? And add in two more males.” I was a bit nervous for the answer.
“Oh no. Honestly at first it threw me for a loop but Blake and I have sat down and about all of it numerous times. He is so happy and he’s so glad that he has the man he calls a brother as one of your mates and added in new brothers to his life. Plus it takes a really strong woman to put up with his a*s.” She winked walking backwards so the rest of us would follow her upstairs.
“You got that right. I’ve never met someone who literally leaves their socks in the most random places. Yesterday there was one hanging on the shower curtain and the other one was on the back of the toilet. And thank you for being such a great mother to him and to Andrew. They both look up to you and Julian.”
“Girl until you find them in the toilet or in the dog food bowl or even in your freezer you have no room to talk.” I gasped. “Julian and I love Andrew like another son. Asher knew his mother longer than Andrew and so it was harder for him to form relationships.” She looked sad.
“He hasn’t talked about it much but I know he will one day. Thank you for backing them and keeping them safe from the darkest parts of Oliver.”
“Okay so we need to start getting everybody ready. We have about 2 and 1/2 hours which is not a lot of time. We have makeup, hair, clothes, and pictures with the family.” My mother spoke up from behind me. “So your mates will be waiting for you on the stage and they already have their small speeches ready. Do you have yours?” She looked at me.
“Umm… Speech? Yup no one said a dang thing. I guess we will have to skip that. I will meet you all upstairs. Sandra there? Never mind I will find out when I get up there.” I make a break for it running up the stairs running around the shocked faces of a few of the pack.
My mother caught up to me and pulled me into a side bedroom that was empty, thank gosh. I don’t need someone seeing my mother get on to me. That would be embarrassing.
“Hey! What’s wrong?” She sat down on the bed and patted the spot beside her. I huffed before sitting down.
“I don’t know. It is so easy to tell people what to do or listen to their problems before discussing them. Confessing my love for my mates is a scary thing. They know I love them but to the extend that I do is scary for me. When they aren’t around me it feels the air is heavier and it gets harder to breath.” I look up at my mom and see the softest smile on her face.
“I get that. I love your father more than the air I breathe and if he died I would die of heartbreak right beside him. I love you so much and I am so glad you have found your pillars of strength. Just figure out a small speech that only really means something to you all and it will be over before you know it.”
“Thanks mom.” I hug her.
“So are you scared about mating as a wolf?” She wiggles her eyebrows and I shove her away before we both bust into laughter.
‘Lets go meet up with everyone. Is Trixie, Tracy, and Dolly in there?” My mother nodded yes.
When we stood up I gave her one last hug and apologized that she wasn’t able to go on the pack run. I really wish there was a way to make her part of the pack or even just part of my little pack so that I was able to communicate with her and she was able to be a part of things like this. She just smiled and winked at me and told me that everything was going to be okay. I had a feeling she had something up her sleeve which was absolutely normal for her. Watch her ride a wolf out there. Id die of a heart attack and worry for her scary behind.
When we walked in I heard Melissa telling Natasha who her mate was. Mom overheard and screamed for joy before running her down for a hug. We hadn’t had a chance to really talk about her having a mate but I told her that tomorrow we would make time to discuss it and see where she was with at with it. I know that she was feeling nervous because I could feel the tension coming off her body but she seemed happier. I just hope that it wasn’t all too much for Alistair. He literally lost his mate and his pup not that long ago and grief varies in its time table. I just hope he doesn’t let the feelings of guilt and betrayal ruin everything for him or her. If he hurt Melissa I’d have to hurt him which would suck for everyone so fingers crossed he makes the right decision for both of them. I don’t want him hurt either. He is becoming family to me.
I walk over to the hanging gowns and unzip mine along with Melissa and Natalie. Mine is a dark green off the shoulder neckline ball and lace gown silhouette full-length. Sleeveless scarlet red color black strappy stilettos . The girls dresses are off white spaghetti straps that are knee length. They fit their bodies perfect and I know they feel sexy in them.
“Make up time and hair after. I am going to run to make sure the place looks good. Ryder make that speech!” My mother looked at me pointedly until I nodded my head. Geesh.
“So Ryder are you going to tell us who has the biggest p***s?” Parker winked before taking a drink of his soda and plopping down on the couch. I rolled my eyes but every one was looking at me waiting for an answer.
“If the answer is Asher and Andrew keep your mouth shut. Gosh!!” Sandra gagged. I was just thankful that anyone under 17 was out of the room.
