The Last Royal Luna

(Book 3) – Chapter 54

I followed Asher to a hidden section of cavern and stopped when he pointed to the two-story brick building that looked ran down. He stopped me from running straight into the building by pulling me back into his arms. I didn’t want his cuddles or hugs. I wanted my kids.

“Stop fighting me.” Asher growled out. “There is a spell covering the building and I don’t know what it would do to us if we touched it.”

“I am getting so sick of these damn games.” I growled out before looking for my mom or Mel. “Can someone get these spells off?”

“We can.” My mom replied and grabbed Mel’s hand to start chanting.

They both looked exhausted and I hated putting more on them. They knew what was at stack and it was just as personal to them. I just hated being so helpless. I had powers why couldn’t I chant and help out?

‘Maybe because you haven’t ever tried?” Blue snickered at me. She made a good point.

I walked over to stand behind mom and Mel and put my hands on their shoulders. They side eyed me but focused on the counter spell they were using. I put my attention inwards feeling out their auras and magic. Both were peaceful and good with so much potential still untapped. I pulled my magic to my chest and let a little flow through my hands into them. I let the magic get used to each other and play together before pushing more into them.

“What are you doing?” Mom asked breaking away from the spell with a look of shock on her face.

“Helping or at least trying.” My magic was mixing with theirs now giving them a power boost.

“How pitiful you all look?” A voice I recognized rang out from above us. “You won’t even get the children back because they are mine to raise and use.”

We snapped our heads up and I was right. It was my uncle Ivan holding my son and a huge smirk on his face. That disgusting pyscho was holding my son. He just signed his death warrant.

“Ivan, you are mine to kill.” My mother shouted before grabbing Mel’s hand again. “More power, Ryder, and use all of it with me Mel.”

We did as she asked and the spell on the building broke with a pop. I tried to rush forward but Edgar and Koda went in first to cover any sneak attacks.

‘We have to get our kids. Clean off his crazy germs. Go. Go.’ Blue was yelling over and over in my head as I scanned each room I went by.

‘Relax. We have to be alive to save them and with Ivan in charge here there could be any number of deadly surprises. Id rather save my kids and watch mom kill his skinny a*s.’ I yelled back at her. She got the hint and started keeping watch silently.

“Find the stairs first. I need to get upstairs.” I whispered to the group and everyone fanned out. Edgar, Asher, and Koda kept me with them with Mel, mom, and Alistair on our tails.

The rooms were eerily quiet and safe. I knew it meant he had something special upstairs. I just had to get my head on right to get this fight over with so we could go home as a family.

“Is Jared here, Knox?’ I linked him.

‘Yes, I can smell him. He seems weak though.’ He sounded worried which added a bit more guilt, blame, and worry to my plate.

‘We will save him. He needs to be here for a few more of our kiddos and to watch our current ones when this heat hits me.’

He didn’t reply. He just sent love through our bond. Asher grabbed my arm and pointed to his right. He found the stairs.

We rushed up the stairs running straight into one big top room with Mel’s baby girl, my twins, Jared, and my douchebag of an uncle surrounded mostly feral rogue wolves. One old, black witch was standing in one corner ignoring us and focusing on some spell. There was two dead wolves at her feet giving her even more power. Two vamps were crouched in the other corner trying to stay in the dark but it didn’t work.

“Now that my sister in law and niece are here we can have a family reunion. I would love for you to meet my new children.” Ivan said laughing as all of our faces transformed into rage.

‘We are done. Let’s go Blue.’ I linked her before pulling all my power into my chest.

I sent out flaming balls into the vamps and witch burning their b***d in an instant. B***d rained from their eyes, noses, and mouths before bursting all over everything. I looked at Jared and he had covered the kids the best he could. Hopefully they wouldn’t have memories of this moment.

All hell broke lose when their bodies hit the floor. The feral rogues attacked raking their nails down who ever came near them before pushing to bite their necks. They just wanted the kill and because of them being feral we would have to end up killing all of them.

Mom ran through the wolves faster than I had ever seen her run. She leapt at Ivan and took him down with him screaming like a little baby. She laid right into him punching his face over and over. I was barely able to take my eyes off them.

‘Ryder GO!’ Blue yelled pulling me out of my amazement.

I turned and got my eyes on the kids with Jared and Mel trying to protect them from two wolves. I made it in time to block one of them lunging forward to bite into my son but missed when the other bit into my side pulling me down to the ground.

“Shit.” I g*****d before ripping the wolfs teeth off of me.

“RYDER!” Blake yelled from beside me.

He dropped down and put his hand on my wound. It seemed the wolf had taken a chunk out. My pain didn’t matter right now. I pushed his hands off and slowly got up.

“Blake..the other…wolf.” I stuttered as I finally stood up straight.

He turned back and saw Jared failing at taking on the last wolf that was near them. He took off, ripped the wolf off of Jared, and threw him across the room right into Edgars arms. Edgar squeezed him so tight his bones broke including his spine. He was dead as soon as he hit the ground.

I stumbled over to Jared checking his pulse. It was weak and thready. He looked pale but had a smile on his face like he was ok that he was dying. I sure as hell wasn’t. I didn’t have much power left after the day we have had but he was worth all of it and more.

“You are not dying today.” I stated and put my hands on the two biggest wounds. I used my power to heat his b***d in that area closing those wounds before moving on to any others I saw.

Mel dropped beside me with her daughter in one arm and used her free hand to use a spell to help regenerate his b***d faster. I could hear my twins crying from beside me along with Blake and Andrew sweet talking them. I wanted to have them in my arms but this was a bit more important.

“Don’t…waste…” Jared tried to speak but started coughing.

“Stop it old man and let them help you. Your grandkids need your crazy bed time stories.” Kane growled out sitting down by his dads head.

“You aren’t allowed to die until you are well over 100 years old.” Knox teased putting a hand on both his twin and dad.

When the wounds were healed enough he wouldn’t die from them I slumped over into someone’s arms. It felt right so it had to be a mate of mine but my eyes barely listened to my commands at this time.

“Babies…need.” I said putting my arms out.

The twins were laid against my chest and I hugged them to me tightly. I lost it. My tears flowed and my words of apology, love, and how I would never fail them again spouted on repeat. I let them be with the enemy for too long. What had I missed?

My son, Charles, looked up at me and smiled. He smiled on purpose. My heart grew and cried out at the same time. At the same time my daughter, Colette, dug her head farther into me and whispered, “Mama.”

“My babies, My babies.” I cried out. “Momma loves you. I love you so much. You will never leave my eyesight again.”

My mates surrounded me along with my mother. Alistair and Mel were standing nearby holding their daughter and crying together. Mom got everyone to do a sweep of all the buildings and the surrounding areas. Tyler and a few others stayed to help or guard us if needed. I sent them all links of thanks before focusing back on my family.

“We will need to leave before it gets dark.” Jared coughed up from his spot against the wall and between his sons. “The sooner we get back the sooner we can get every pack on board with everything and put this all behind us.”

“Thank you Jared.” I whispered with my face stuck between my babies. “Thank you for keeping them safe and for raising some pretty great sons. I think all the parents deserve some time off to party and eat all their favorite meals.”

“I will always keep my b***d safe. I love you all.” Jared whispered before falling asleep to help himself heal.
