(Book 3) – Chapter 4
“I brought the good stuff! Get ready to stuff your pregnant faces!” Parker yelled as he walked into the kitchen where Melissa, Sandra, and I were sitting. “Thank goodness you guys have a gay bestie who can stand your hormonal asses.”
I wanted to argue but he was still holding all of the Chinese goodness. I just smiled and told him thank you before getting out the plates so we could serve ourselves before sitting down for a gossip and planning session.
“Come take a seat next to me, bestie.” I said trying to butter him up. I patted the stool next to mine and he rolled his eyes.
“What do you need?” He replied sitting down.
“Just wondering if you brought the good stuff.” I hinted at him.
He nodded yes and slid a brown paper bag over. I got so excited I could barely get it open. Inside was the object my mates were taking the biggest stance on and I was not making it without it. It was my sweet, sweet Dr. Pepper. I ripped the lid off and sucked down a third of it. The girls just laughed and started in on the food.
“I want to know how it went when you questioned Heath” Melissa said as she continued filling her overflowing plate. She kept taking a bite while she filled it up.
“If that’s what you’re eating for one kid I’m going to have to double that for both of mine so stop it.” I teased her. “He seems like a great kid. I know it sounds kind of weird calling him that because I’m 18 and he’s 17 but it’s kind of how I feel about the situation. He was truthful and everything he spoke about and in his feelings for Natalie. He shed a lot of light on the fact that she only started being interested in him when he was talking to his friends about the extra responsibility that his father was putting on him and he was glad he could help out his dad.”
“Yeah…. Greg had the biggest smile on his face when he heard that,” Sandra said grumbling and rolling her eyes. “He was always a smug son of a b***h when we were just friends but now he has gotten worse. It is a good thing he is a damn good Gamma or I would let lose my pregnant hormones. I just hope I can keep from punching him in the face. “
“So he is in the clear now?” Parker asked looking a bit worried for him. “What do we do about Natalie now? I hate that I feel like I failed her by living life and not checking on her more.”
“Yep he is, I do want someone keeping an eye on him for the time being because Natalie or someone else that is working along with Natalie could pop up.” My mood just sank thinking about her.
“Oh my God this food is amazeballs!” Melissa ground she started stuffing her face.
Parker laughed so hard he snorted. “Someone wants to change the subject. I will wait to hear about her if it makes you feel better.”
“I’m guessing this has been one of your cravings, hasn’t it Melissa?” Sandra’s teased.
“Oh yes. I’m pretty sure at this point Alistair thinks that the baby is going to come out Chinese because of how much I eat it.” Mel laughed.
“There isn’t much to say about Natalie.” Edgar said as he snuck up behind us.
We all jumped and gave a small scream. “Damnit, Edgar. You almost sent me into labor.” Melissa cried out.
Alistair growled from behind Edgar and ran up to his mate. “I told you that was a stupid idea.”
Melissa was laughing at how serious the guys had gotten and I joined in. I was laughing so hard I missed the chance to hide my drink. The guys zoned in on that puppy so fast it could make a person’s head spin.
“What the f**k is that?” Andrews growled making a grab for my pop.
I grabbed it and held it close to my chest. “My sanity dealing with you overprotective dogs.”
“Oh, Snap.” Parker exclaimed standing up and putting his food back in the bag. “My a*s is out of here but if you need a place to stay I have an extra room. These big, beautiful men are not allowed in my house.” He made sure to give them a glare before kissing my cheek and heading out.
“I second the leaving part. Just know if you put a hand on her I will have your heads.” Sandra growled out protectively before leaving.
Alistair pulled Melissa from her chair and looked over at me. “We will third that and back up what Sandra said. I would suggest you guys give her some breathing room before she bans you from her bed.” Melissa just patted my shoulder before following Alistair.
Blake moved to sit beside me and stared at the drink. “Now how about you give us that drink and we will make you some caffeine free tea.” He used his sweet voice which made me even madder.
I turned my body toward him and gave him the fakest smile I could give. “I will tell you all this one more time before I overreact bad enough I will make you cry. If I want some caffeine so that I can be awake, focused, and not on a killing spree I will have it.” I looked over at Edgar. “If I want to leave this house and watch the training. s**t, if I want to do some laps jogging I will.”
“There is no..” Kane interrupted.
Blue growled at them. My eyes turned purple and my hackles were up. They had pushed her too far. I was waiting for this moment.
“I am done. I will do as I f*****g PLEASE!” I screamed at them. I jumped out of my seat. “I WILL BE STAYING AT A FRIENDS HOUSE. DO NOT CALL, TEXT, OR MIND LINK US. WE NEED SPACE TO MAKE SOME DECISIONS. AND YOU NEED SOME TIME TO PUSH THIS A*****E BUSINESS”
“What kind of decisions?” Koda whispered in fear.
“Ones that will change our lives. You keep pushing and acting like you should be in charge of me while I have no say. I told you from the start it would never be like that. I guess now I will have to show you how much you aren’t.” I shrugged my shoulders and went into my bedroom. I made sure to slam the door extra hard. It was supposed to be for them but it helped me calm down a bit.
‘Where are we staying?’ Blue asked. She was riled up from the way I could feel her energy riding me to lash out.
‘Melissa’s. She will have the good ice cream and Alistair won’t try to stop me from overindulging.’ I huffed thinking about how the guys were since we got back. ‘I can’t believe that they were still acting like this. I didn’t control them. Maybe this many mates weren’t the best idea even if it makes us more powerful.’
‘You said it, sister.’ Blue winked before she laid back down.
