(Book 3) – Chapter 21
We have the perimeter spell in place at all the packs and half of their warriors made it back to them, so they have double the protection,” I pointed out staring al the leaders around me. “They even have a few witches at each pack to help against any enemies and everyone is getting along great. I think it is time to lure out the fake queen and kill her.”
People started whispering back and forth. Sandra and Samuel looked a bit weary and were chatting. Koda grabbed my hand pushing comfort through our bond. He must have noticed my nerves flaring up. I hated talking in front of a crowd, especially if I was going to have to convince them I was right.
“What did you have in mind?” A voice yelled from the back.
I looked around and saw a younger looking vampire. He didn’t seem to be the one in charge but the one who did nodded so they must trust each other. Here I was hoping they would include me in that dang trust circle.
“Call that b***h out.” I smirked letting Blue push her way forward. I heard a few gasps when my eyes turned purple. “Call her out for the fake she is and turned some of her followers against her. She will either have to step out to prove she is just as strong as before and that she is even still around or they will start sending their most loyal at us. We can then keep knocking them down and killing them until all the have left is a handful of weak followers. Then we can take them out all.”
“And what is your plan for that?” A witch asked. It felt like she was trying to prove I had no idea what I was saying but she was sadly mistaken.
“Have every allies telling everyone she is weak, worthless, or really anything along those lines. That the King has finally decided to find a new queen who is strong unlike his current weak queen. Maybe mention I have shown some interest.” I shrug like is so simple and to me it is. A bossy queen Bee really needs her followers to remain on top.
It was silent for the briefest moment but that ended when everyone started talking over everyone else. The guys growl staring at me like I am prey. I am thinking it has to do with me mentioning the last party but they will have to get over it. I hadn’t told the group yet I already set this in motion with several of my closest allies along with Parker putting it on his werewolf blog he started a few months ago. I guess this group needs to read more.
‘There is a pack claiming to be here to challenge you for your crown,’ A warrior linked me. ‘I don’t think it is a real pack since I smell and see witches and some vampires. What should we do?’
‘Hold them there. I will be there shortly. Keep a close eye on them.’ I linked back.
“There is no way for that to work. She has to be smarter than some high school drama.” A voice from the witches spoke out but I couldn’t tell who.
“That happened faster than I thought,” I mused catching the attention of my mates and Sandra. “There is a pack here wanting to challenge me for my claim to the throne.”
“What? How? We haven’t even decided..” Sandra spoke before she thought it all through. “You already started it. Damnit, Ryder.”
“Sorry, Sandra. I am sick of the waiting game. I want this war over with so we can go back to normal and keep working as teams.” I stood up and brushed imaginary lint off my pants. “Lets go talk to this so call pack.
“Ill rip their heads off,” Knox growled as he started to head to the door.
“No you won’t. I will be dealing with this,” I corrected him. “They want my crown and I want their death.”
“No, you are going to get the twins and head to the basement along with the other non-fighting pack members.” Blake ordered me.
“This is probably a distraction, so we need to send warriors on all sides.” He looked toward Sandra completely ignoring me.
“Excuse me? I think I misunderstood what you just said.” I was pissed and ready to break his damn jaw.
“You heard him. You are to be safe just like our children!” Andrew added on.
I walked up to him and shoved him back down into his seat almost pushing the chair over with him in it. “f**k you both. I am not pregnant anymore so my powers have nothing draining them, the twins have a protection spell on them so anyone can keep them safe, and I AM THE f*****g FUTURE QUEEN. I will be up front kicking a*s and taking out the enemy.”
“I don’t care if you were the goddess herself you will go downstairs!” Blake howled and rushed at me like he was going to drag me.
Koda stepped in and shoved Blake to the side. He didn’t even need to speak because the waves of rage coming off him could suffocate you in a second. His eyes were his wolves and his canines were extended ready to rip someone to pieces. Blake got up slowly and just stared him down but made sure he had enough room to run if needed. Good boy, learning already.
“Warriors, Take Blake and Andrew down to the basement with the others who won’t be fighting. They can see what it is like to know you can help but others got to have a say in what you do. It is time to learn a lesson boys.” I ordered and wrapped my arms around
Koda. “It’s ok Lover. I am alright.”
“They won’t do that….Hey get your hands off me…Ryder you better ttell them to stop,” Andrew screeched.
“Ill break your necks…I will not stay ou…t….No..Fuc..” Blake got cut off with a punch to his gut from Alistair. I love having a loyal beta.
“See you both after the fight.” I waved sweetly and headed toward the door.
“I agree with Blake and Andrew about keeping you safe,” whispered Samuel to Sandra. He wasn’t quiet enough and I was already livid.
“Sandra, with you being so close to your due date you should have your mate by your side. We can handle this with the other packs….” She smiled when I finished.
“What, No way. I am the Head Warrior..” He started to freak out.
Sandra put her hand on his arm and shushed him. “She is right, baby. I need you and the pack will be fine….” She was holding back a laugh as she said this to him.
“Also you shouldn’t agree with a girls mates when she is pissed off. Have fun with all the babies to calm down and the s*x talk with the ladies. I have some people to kill.” I mocked him and I loved it.
