(Book 2) – Chapter 72
I walked out of the closet after an hour-long tear-filled phone call with my mother. My whole family was excited beyond belief at news of my pregnancy and even gasped a little at the news of twins. My dad started spouting off things they needed to do and get for them before rushing off with the girls to get on the computer to shop. That was going to mean trouble in the size of overloading our house but I was not dealing with that right now.
My mother took the rest of the phone call in her bathroom for privacy. She shared her concerns of safety, the upcoming war, and if I was really ready for this. She made sure that this happened by accident not by my mates making sure it happened. She knew I hadn’t wanted kids till this was all over and that made me glad I shared my concerns with her but my mates weren’t like that.
We got off the phone call with me promising to be home within the next three weeks or she threatened to come get me. I did not want that to happen. Her choices of music on road trips were the worst and she only allowed pee breaks every few hours no matter how many juice packs you had to drink. She laughed when I mentioned that and told me I would do the same if my kids decide to drink as much as they can to see what they can hold before their bladder bursts. I agreed I was a bit of a dumbass kid.
When I made it back into the room the guys were all smiling, which was a good sign. Even the twins were smiling the biggest smiles I had ever seen on their faces. It is a good thing it was related to the baby news and not something else or I would be a little bit jealous.
“Why did you stop walking, baby girl?” Asher asked me standing up from the couch. “Come over and sit with us. Tell us how your talk went before we share how ours went.”
I walked over and sat down on this lap, wrapping my arms around his neck. “I stopped because you all were smiling like the biggest dorks I have ever seen.” I teased them. Asher pinched my butt making me squeal.
“You stop that teasing now. You are what makes us smile and now that you are carrying our children it sends us over the moon.” Asher praised rubbing my back as my tears started to fall.
“f*****g pregnancy hormones.” I complained. “Let’s do this talking s**t and get it over with so I can cry some more before you give me a reason to be smiling with you.” I winked at Koda. He blushed which made all the guys give him s**t over it.
I told them how my parents reacted, how my mothers concerns and fears had been my own for the most part, and how if we don’t hurry our own asses she will be showing up to take me home. Every one else basically said the same thing until we got to the twins. I knew their information was going to be different since their dad knew what the f**k was going on with royal pregnancy. I just hoped it was all good news. I don’t know if I could take anymore bad. I might lock myself in the bathroom for a day of soaking and crying.
“Ok, I love hearing how it all went and I miss all your families but I need to know what the twins dad said.” I explained hoping they heard the sincerity in my voice. “I have no idea what to expect with this pregnancy and what information new could give a witch to help protect our babies. My nerves are shot right now, I am craving a pickle, and I need to pee something fierce.”
Koda called down to the kitchen and got some food ordered including several pickles. He mentioned them getting some prenatal vitamins and such from the doctors office before bringing it up. I am glad he was the ball because I was dropping it with all these dang tears. I blew him a k**s as a thanks.
Knox moved to sit beside Asher and myself while Kane sat on the floor leaning back on my legs. “Our dad had mostly good news. Which was a huge relief.” Kane said as he looked up at me. “He was excited and he already knows a spell the keeps the baby safe. He has to do it and it involves all of our b***d so it will be done once we make it back to your family. He is going to meet us there.”
“And he told us something amazing about the magic of our bond and any babies we have.” Knox exclaimed. “The baby has part of all of our DNA since we all are all part of the mating bond. Even though the baby was already cooking when you mated with Koda. His dna is added in to help make the babies stronger and well taken care of. He explained the reason behind it more in depth but I was stunned into silence at this part.”
I laughed completely understanding. When his dad got into nerd mode it was easy to slip into thinking of other things and ignoring him. I tried not to but an hour long conversation on how batteries are made was rough. My dad was the same way though about cars and motors. I knew I was about to be that way about this pregnancy and the babies.
“Also a Royals pregnancy is only four months even with multiples!” Kane stated as he started to rub my left food making me m**n in appreciation. “And we should have no problems with keeping you safe until we get home. There we will add a protection spell so you can fight and a few others to help them grow without causing you any issues like stopping to puke your guts out every time we
end up in al fight.”
“Hell yea!.” I said as I pumped my fist in the area. We finished discussing that they felt better knowing there was actual ways to keep the baby safe while we make the world a better place. Before long we had gotten and ate all the snacks that were brought up. They sent several vitamins and three of them tasted like s**t. Then it was time for dinner and I felt like a weight was laid in my stomach. I already knew this was going to be shitty and I may punch the dickwad.
