The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2808

Chapter 2808
The others rushed forward to help him up, “Mr.Skinner, are you alright?”
Although there had been a moment of hesitation about betraying Domingo, they had been with him for so many years. Seeing
him fall like this, they couldn’t help but worry.
As Regina and Nolan stepped out of the front door, the rest of the staff were stunned. Hadn’t Domingo said that these two were
trapped?
How come they were striding out so boldly? What on earth had happened?
Being trapped in that dim environment inside, Regina couldn’t quite understand why anyone would enjoy such gloom and even
pay for the experience.
When she stepped into the sunlight, she couldn’t help but sigh with relief, “It’s so good to feel the sun.”
“Yeah, we’ve been so caught up in the concrete jungle, we almost forgot to appreciate the world outside,” Nolan agreed. It wasn’t
until they got into the car that they felt they were truly out of danger.
However, as Nolan drove towards Regina’s place, she suddenly spoke up, “You shouldn’t have done that today.”
“What do you mean?”
“You should have left me and gotten away.”
Nolan had already explained that no matter what, he could not have left Regina behind.
Now, safely away, Regina was still bringing it up, and Nolan was getting irritated, “I told you before, even if I had left, you
wouldn’t have been safe. Did you really think by sacrificing yourself you’d be saving me? Come on, I’m a man; I don’t need you
to protect me.”
She could hear the frustration in his voice. Regina bit her lower lip, feeling distressed, “I just didn’t want you to get dragged into
my problems, that’s all, I...”
Perhaps Nolan couldn’t bear to hear any more. He sharply turned the steering wheel and pulled over into a safe area. “Get out of
the car I think we both need some time to cool off.”

And so Regina watched as Nolan’s car sped away.
She couldn’t understand herself; Nolan’s every word and action seemed to affect her mood.
Before she could even sort out her feelings, she had angered Nolan.
Just as she felt downhearted, Regina’s phone buzzed with a news alert. The headline was bold with the word “Exposed!” She
swiped open the notification, and what confronted her was a blurry photo of Nolan and Dahlia.
Though the picture wasn’t clear, having seen Nolan day after day, Regina recognized him instantly.
He was standing protectively next to Dahlia, glancing vaguely towards the camera lens. Regina clenched her phone tightly,
realizing why he had been so impatient with her; he already had someone else in his heart.
[Exposed! The secret boyfriend of the popular dancer is him!]
Regina let out a bitter laugh, clearly understanding now that she’d developed feelings for Nolan that she shouldn’t have.
If Nolan was dating Dahlia, why hadn’t he told her? It would’ve helped her to move on. She felt a surge of resentment towards
Nolan.
Even though she knew it wasn’t his fault, it still hurt.
Meanwhile, the whole tech industry was on high alert. Their CEO had never had his face exposed in the media, and he had
always been very careful about his privacy. Yet, now there was a clear photo of him with Dahlia, even if it was blurry, one could
make out his features.
Lucy dialed Nolan’s number immediately.
“What’s up?”
Nolan’s voice sounded impatient, and Lucy’s heart skipped a beat. Had her bos found out?
“Mr. Harris, should we take down that news piece that’s circulating online?”
“What news!” Nolan barked, his tone betraying his surprise and annoyance.
