The Kings Series #2 His Silver Hand

Chapter 26. New Blood: Anna Marie

-Fuck!- There were too many of them. Wide-eyed, fear rolling in waves all over her body, she trembled.

“Lucas.” She mumbled. Her throat was parched from the overwhelming scene below her. Alexander's wolves were being eaten by the hideous creatures. They were writhing and crying out in pain.

What could she do to help them?

Her sisters. The pups!

-Be brave, my queen. He needs you.-

Her dragon spirit. She was his heart and his strength. He needed her. Just like she needed him. And she was no longer an ordinary human. It was so freaking hard but she commanded herself to relax. A herculean task. Taking deep and slow breaths, the beating of her heart began to slow.

Anna Marie felt her strength arising. Energy. The source came from deep within her. Channeling her power to her beast, her round thighs tightened on his back, arching her torso, ramrod straight, her small hands gripped the protruding ivory horns near his leathery flapping ears

Heat permitted in between her legs. It was from him. In rhythm, her body pliant and soft, as one, they dove. Swooping. Striking.

His sharp nails ripping through flesh. Severing bodies.

Gusts of hot air and fire were spitting from his massive maws. Burning the enemies emerging from the black soil.

Flying up and gliding down, they continued to burn. From both their sides, she saw two more dragons, one in black, the other in silver-gray, with warrior riders, joined the fight.

Her Dracon decided to up the ante on the battle by landing on the shaking ground. Roaring and roasting anyone coming for them

-We will fucking kill them all.-

Alexie

The Royal Beta

"Quickly. Hide the pups to our vaults! Anna, go!" Her task was to make sure the heirs and the Lycan Queen was secure. A sworn duty.

Her queen snarled in protest. Her wolf on the surface. Alexie tilted her head in submission.

"If you ever think I will leave you to fight alone, think again, sister.” Anna's voice was guttural. Ready to shift. "Baxter, bring our strongest warriors with you and guard our pups with your life. Now!" A different side of her queen she had never seen before. Ferocious and tough. "At once, mia regina.” Their ever-loyal butler bowed before them and with urgency brought by the command, he guided their precious babies to the secret room. The nannies bringing enough supplies to last for days.

"Anna, I can't let you fight. Please.” Alexie pleaded. Shouts and screams could be heard outside their walls. A constant banging on the steel enforced doors. Any moment, the lycan mansion will be breached. "We will fight together, Lex, and protect what is ours. Just like our mates. Are you with me?" She reached for her trembling hands and squeezed them in reassurance.

"Always, sister. Always."

Descending the grand staircase, they reached the foyer lined with shifted and massive wolves, teeth bared, in attack formation.

From the corner of her gray eyes, she watched Anna transformed into her snow-white wolf, growling, and snarling. Circling her territory.

The lycan king had taught her well.

Following her lead, Alexandria called forth her wolf and shifted, crouching, ready to leap at the enemies.

-Protect your home. Protect our kingdom.-

Those were Anna May's last words before they heard a loud explosion. Then mayhem began

Anna Marie

"Lucas?" Smoke filled the air and an eerie silence ensued. Deeming it safe to go down, she jumped from his back and landed on the burnt grass.

"Rie," he growled his warning. Finally shifting into his human form, he stood behind her protectively, naked, chest heaving, he was a sight to behold.

Not the time for eye-fucking. She shook her head. "Something is not right, Luc."

She could sense it. The royal packhouse. Her sisters. Her nephews and niece.

Moments later two massive lycans emerged from the trees, their furs covered in blood. She took a step back. Unsure.

"It's okay, sweetheart. It's Alexander and Michael." He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer.

The slightly smaller of the two creatures shifted. It was Michael. He grimaced at his nakedness, more for her sake than theirs.

Rie paid him no mind and pointedly looked at his face and nowhere else.

"Thank you for the reinforcement, Your Majesties.” He bowed. "Xander is still in a warrior zone. It will take a few minutes for him to be able to shift.” The beta gestured with his hand.

Rie's brown eyes went to Xander. Fuck! This was the first time she was seeing him in his lycan form. He was as big as her dragon king. And his maw had long sharp teeth, swordlike and gleaming too. His eyes blood red like the liquid dripping from his fur.

"Xander, we need to call the council. Esmeralda and Lucifer should be alerted. And where is Xavier?" Lucas's voice was grave.

Rie scowled. What happened to Mish and the Vampire King? Some caring sister she was forgetting Anna Michelle.

"Where is Mish?" Though the question was directed to Alexander, she couldn't look him in the eye. He was too intimidating.

"Sweetheart," her own mate hesitated.

She was about to ask again when a deafening blast broke the silence around them.

"The Royal Mansion,” Michael uttered. Disbelief in his eyes. "This was a fucking diversion!"

Within a few seconds, she was back on her dragon with the lycans running like the wind below them. A foreboding in the pit of her stomach.

-Please, moon goddess. Let them be safe.-

Anna May

-Alexie, watch your back!-

Her sister-in-law dodged the attack of the ugly green grotesque animal in time, swerving her body, she bit the creature on its neck and shook her head ferociously. The fucker went limp and stopped moving. Doing the same damage to her enemies, Anna attacked and bit. Chopping off limbs and biting huge chunks of their necks. Her white fur was no longer visible from the blood spilling on her. The scent was gagging but she persevered.

These were her people. Her territory. They were willing to die for them. She was only willing to reciprocate and do her duty.

Outside, she could hear gunshots and more fighting. -Goddess, where is my mate? Keep him safe.-

She kept reaching for him but his walls were up. He must be facing the same threat at the border.

Some of their personal guards and warriors left to protect them were groaning in pain on the floor.

The fighting had become more intense. And despite her strength, she was a newly turned lycan of only two years of training and experience. And she was pregnant. Doing all she can to avoid getting hit on her belly, she quickly evaded hits and bites but one went to her shoulder and it hurt like hell.

"Stop!" A dark disembodied voice screamed.

Startled, all fighting had ceased, she looked at the staircase. A woman in all black flowing dress, red long hair, black gleaming eyes, and hourglass figure was staring directly at Anna May with a cruel smirk on her red painted lips.

"Lycan Queen, it's an honor to meet you." Ruby.

-Alexander!-

"What do you want?" Anna growled and stood her ground.

-Anna. I'm coming, baby.-

"The four kings in exchange for..." The black which gestured to her right. Three pups were crying and screaming in fright.

Anna Marie sobbed. "No! Take me instead.”

Alexie was ready to attack but her beta heir was dangled by a familiar face.

"Tsk. Tsk. Pace yourself, princess. You wouldn't want to be the cause of your son's death, no?” Ruby cackled. "I don't need you right now, Lycan Queen nor your sisters. All I want for now are the kings in exchange for these brats. Don't worry, I will make sure they will have a good time. You will hear from me tomorrow."

With another cruel laugh, the evil witch waved her hand, a dark portal appeared and they were gone.

Her pups!

Falling on her knees, she wailed her anguish.

Annalisa. Mikhail.

Anna Marie

Stumbling down as soon as Lucas touched the ground and she was running towards the mansion, her heart in her throat.

"Anna!"

"Alexie!"

"Mish!"

Goddess. Injured and dead bodies everywhere. Chaos everywhere. "Alexander!" She could hear her sister calling for her mate. Her voice was full of pain.

Rie knew for sure her brother-in-law was not hurt. She fretted. A horrible thought invaded and she prayed she was wrong

Reaching the foyer, she saw Anna and Alexie embraced each other in desperation.

And Baxter. He was lying lifeless at the foot of the stairs and the nannies... -No!-

Crying now. Rie approached her sisters. "Anna?" Her voice trembled. Raising her face, gaze blurred by tears, full of misery, she whispered, "The witch took our pups. My twins."

"My son," Alexie uttered just as broken.

Rie dropped on the floor and sobbed her heart out.

Why, moon goddess?

I'm sorry, babies.
