The Invincible Young General by Kerr Temple

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Albert and Rocky fixed their eyes on Markus and found that he was an acquaintance.

“You have some nerve coming back here, Markus!”

They sized up Markus and saw that he was dressed in ordinary clothes.

Albert didn’t care at all and said fiercely, “Looks like you haven’t been doing well for the past eight years. What now? Are you trying to stand up for Sebastian? Let me give you a piece of advice. Don’t ask for trouble! We’re not in school anymore, and our means are in a different league now. No one will know even if we put you in a sack and sink you in the river.”

“Mr. Harrington, have you recorded that?”

“Ah…” Sebastian came to his senses and took out his phone, lying. “I’ve got it.”

Markus pretended to look relieved. “That’s good. If I disappear for no reason, you can take this recording to the City

Watch!

“Got it.”

Markus and Sebastian echoing each other annoyed Albert so much that he lost his temper. He rolled up his sleeves, revealing the tattoo as well as the bulging muscles on his forearm. He said fiercely, “Markus, you want trouble, don’t you? I swear I’ll beat you to a pulp today!”

Markus extended his right arm and flipped him off.

Raising his voice, he retorted, “Bring it on!”

“Damn it…”

Albert was completely enraged and charged at Markus.

“Watch out…”

As soon as Sebastian spoke, he saw Markus kick Albert hard between his legs.

Albert clamped his legs together, his face instantly filled with pain.

Thump!

An uppercut landed on Albert’s chin, forcing him to stumble and fall.

Markus was fast, ruthless, accurate, and efficient.

It was a KO!

Albert spat out a few bloody teeth.

Rocky was frightened. He made a few false gestures but didn’t dare to move.

“I’m telling you, Markus! Pablo will come for you!”

Markus glanced at Rocky from the corner of his eye and said rebelliously, “Tell him not to bother. Give me an address and I’ll go look for him. I haven’t been back for so many years, after all. I should spend some time with our dear friend, Pablo… to catch up.”

There was only playfulness in his eyes, no fear.

‘I dare you to come to the Insatiable Bar tomorrow night!”

Rocky didn’t want to stay any longer for fear of ending up like Albert. He helped Albert up and fled from the bar.

Sebastian put down the stool in his hand and sighed. “Mark, you’re too impulsive. This has nothing to do with you, but now you’ve gotten involved.”

“So what? Your business is my business!”

Sebastian looked stern. “I’m not joking with you! Now that you’ve done this, Pablo won’t let you off?”

“I’m not joking either!”

Markus looked at Sebastian calmly. “It’s different now, Mr. Harrington. You protected me in the past, and now it’s my turn. Never mind Pablo. If his father Angelo dares to hurt you in any way, I’ll screw him up!”

Sebastian looked touched. After a long silence, he said slowly, “I suppose 20,000 dollars is enough to give you a proper funeral.”

After closing the door of the bar, Markus followed Sebastian to the latter’s home, a simple two-room apartment. “Mr. Harrington, you still live here? After so many years?”

Chapter 5

Markus was in disbelief.

This apartment wasn’t exactly the best environment.

Like I have a choice. I don’t have enough spare money to buy another place, and the bar has to keep up with the times. I thought business would improve after I renovated it, and 1 could save up to move. But now…”

Sebastian sighed in disappointment.

Markus naturally understood what Sebastian meant.

The Leaky Goblet had been refurbished, but that would only benefit Pablo now.

Now that the young master of the Montague Crime Family had his eyes on the bar, there was no point in reporting him to the City Watch.

“Dad, you’re back!”

At this time, a fair and beautiful girl about 11 or 12 years old came out of the room

Needless to say, it was Olivia.

She looked adorable with her pink and chubby cheeks.

“Have you finished your homework?” Sebastian asked seriously.

“Yep!”

“Have you had dinner?”

“Yep!”

“Then go to bed!”

Olivia stuck out her tongue. “It’s still early. It’s only eight, old man!”

“Uh…

Are kids supposed to sleep so early?” Olivia wondered.

Olivia looked at the handsome Markus curiously and asked, “Who is he?”

“Call him Mr. Blackthorn.”

“Olivia, right? I often hugged you when you were young. Do you remember?” Markus said happily.

Sebastian rolled his eyes. “Can you remember what happened when you were one or two? Besides…

“You used to make Olivia cry for fun. If she remembers, she’ll definitely hate you!”

Markus was speechless.

Olivia was all grown up now. There was really no need to bring up matters of the past.

“Hello, Mr. Blackthorn!”

Olivia was an easy-going girl. She grinned, revealing her protruding canine teeth.

“Hello, Olivia! I was in too much of a rush to bring you any gifts. I’ll make it up to you next time.”

Olivia stretched out her hand and blinked her eyes, full of hope. “Actually… cash is okay tool”:

Markus blushed.

He had just been released from prison today…

Prooey! Proogy!

Today, he was discharged from the hospital and deliberately washed his face clean.

But his pockets were even cleaner.

It was basically spotless.

“Who taught you to be so shameless? How can you ask for money like this? Go back to your room and do your homework!” Seeing Markus’s embarrassment, Sebastian pretended to reprimand Olivia.

“I just said that I’ve finished my homework.”

“Then do it again!”

After Olivia returned to her room, Sebastian walked into the kitchen and said, “Our fun was cut short by Albert just now. Give me some time. I’ll whip up something and we can continue drinking.”

Chapter 5

Markus knew that Sebastian was no cook. They usually ate out when they were young

But watching Sebastian cook skilfully in the kitchen, he was sure that Sebastian had changed a lot after having Olivia.

That was good.

After a while, the two home-cooked dishes were ready.

Sebastian brought a whole carton of beer to the table, and the two of them began to drink.

“Where did the guys go?” Markus couldn’t help but ask.

When Sebastian first opened the bar, more than a dozen of men worked for him. He was basically flanked by people everywhere he went.

But there was no one in the bar today.

“They’ve left over the years, and a few even went to the Montague Crime Family, Skye and Burke were still with me a few days ago, but after Pablo showed up, I gave them 2,000 dollars each and told them to find another job.

Sebastian downed more than half of the beer in the can.

He didn’t want to implicate Skye and Burke.

He didn’t elaborate about the others but Markus understood anyway.

Over the years, Sebastian had been getting worse and worse. The guys probably felt that Sebastian wasn’t powerful enough and had no future. Working with Sebastian seemed uncool, so they naturally left to work with someone else.

If it were in the past, Markus would have cursed them out of righteous indignation. He would call them a bunch of ingrates.

But now, he couldn’t be bothered to say anything.

“It’s okay. I’m back now. We can start over and make the Leaky Goblet the best bar in Riverside City!”

With his grand speech delivered, Markus took out an almost full pack of Treasurer cigarettes from his pocket like a rich

man.

One for him, one for Sebastian.

In this situation, only Treasurer was worthy of his mood.

Then, Markus took out a Bvlgari lighter and lit a cigarette for himself.

He took a deep breath and let out a ring of smoke from his mouth in enjoyment.

This felt so nice!

“Treasurer and Bvlgari? Mark, you’re really something!”

Sebastian’s eyes lit up.

The Bvlgari lighter must have cost at least 2,000 dollars.
