The Imprisoned Princess

Chapter 11

Adelaide

I awake in a cold sweat. The sheets sticking to me.

Bad dream.

I open my eyes wondering where I am for a moment. I blink a few times before I remember... Hell, that’s where I am. I peel the sheets from me and go to the window, I try it and to my surprise, it’s unlocked. I slide it open allowing the cool night air to flood into the bedroom. The fresh air feels nice, I’ve missed the night air. It’s my favourite time, the moon shining bright above and the lack of warmth soothes my constantly warm skin.

‘I want to run,’ My wolfs thoughts invade my own.

‘I know, we can’t, they’ll think we’re running away.’ I want to let my wolf free, she’s been cooped up for months. ‘How about we just change in the room, I know it’s not running but you can feel your paws again.’ I compromise. She agrees so I strip off the shorts and tank top I slept in.

“Oh it’s been a while,” I groan as the transformation takes hold. It hurts, it never hurts normally, but my skin burns and itches as the fur sprouts through. Normally my transformation takes seconds, this took closer to a minute.

I raise my head, and shake my neck ′thank you,’ she mutters in my head. I pad slowly, quietly over to the mirror on the other side of the wall. I smile. Which makes my wolf bare her pearly white teeth. My raven black fur is less silky than usual, but she’s still the same.

I’m as tall as I am on all fours as I am in human form on two legs. This makes me larger than most. Marc is bigger than me, and so is my father. I shake from my head down to my tail. I feel stronger, I feel powerful. My wolf doesn’t need to exercise like my human form does. She stays powerful. I love it.

I allow her thoughts to drown out my own, but I keep a level of control. I know my wolf. She’ll jump out of the window in a heartbeat. But allowing her to sniff the room, pad up and down, I can escape my situation for a few hours.

A knock on the door rouses me, I must have fallen asleep. I look down, shit. I’m still wolf. “Princess, are you awake?” I battle my wolf back and I stand on two legs again “Yes, just a moment.” I hurriedly put on the shorts and tank top. And unlock the door

“Trey, how can I help you?”

“Wake up call your highness,” he states formally.

“Why thank you.” Trey looks up and down the hall as if checking if anyone’s around and enters the bedroom. He fumbles to lock the door and looks over my neck and shoulders.

“He didn’t mark you?” he whispers sounding shocked.

“No, he said he wants to show me how he’ll be a good mate,” I reply, wondering what he’s talking about.

“He told the Alpha he marked you,” he whispers back, a relief visibly spreading over his face. Trey’s lips come crashing down on mine causing me to let out a small gasp before I hum against his lips. His hands sliding down my waist “I’m so relieved,” he breathes against my lips. He slips his hands down to my backside which makes me gasp at the sudden tingling that spreads in between my thighs. He takes the opportunity and deepens the kiss. His tongue exploring my mouth, my hands find his hair and I start tangling my fingers into the strands. We break away breathless.

“I don’t want him to mark me." I nuzzle into his neck. He smells nice, he’s comforting; he’s like a cup of tea on a cold day. He lifts my legs, his hands under my thighs as he carries me to the bathroom, turning on the shower.

I stay wrapped in his arms while the sound of the shower bounces off the tiles. He places me back on my feet stroking his thumb against my cheek. “Alpha’s left for a few days, said he’d give Wade some private time with you, you’re safe for a bit.”

“But he can still tell Samual if I don’t do as he wishes.” I wrap my arms around his waist as I lean my forehead into his chest. “Yeah, but he’ll have to phone him, he’s too far away to mind link.” Trey runs his thumb down my spine making me sigh involuntarily “Trey... why did he lie to Samual?”

“I don’t know Dely, Don’t question it. Be nice to Wade, but, if he says he wants to show you what kind of ma he’ll be. You don’t have to do anything. A princess wouldn’t jump into bed with him right away. She’d play a little hard to get, so. Do... while Samual’s away.” He looks into my eyes.

“Are you OK?” I find myself asking before thinking, he shakes his head never breaking his gaze. He captures my lips again. His chest vibrating in a groan as he pulls me into him crushing our bodies together. I gasp at the sudden contact. His forcefulness making my knees weak... he was never like this before. I like this assertive Trey.

“I want you to be mine,” he gasps, breaking his slightly swollen lips from mine. “I want to...” he stares down at my bare shoulders, his tongue wetting his peach lips. His eyes turn brown and his canines extent.

It takes all my willpower to step away from him, which seems to snap him from his trance. “Sorry,” he mutters, I knew that wasn’t him, his wolf took over wanting to mark me. No-one else can touch a marked she-wolf. The bond that’s created gives an open channel to your mate's mind. Therefore, the mate knows if someone else touches his wolf.

Trey rubs his hand over his face, his breathing still heavy as he’s trying to control himself. He goes over to the sink and washes his face in cold water “Sorry, I shouldn’t have.” He straightens water dripping from his nose. I hand him a towel “It’s OK... I want it. I want you... But I have to protect Christopher.”

“That’s why I’m sorry.” He tucks a strand of hair behind my ear “I’ll try sneak out, get ready. I think Wade wants breakfast with you.” He looks away, I can hear the pain in his voice. I want to reach out and yank him back as he walks out the bathroom... but I don’t... I can’t, for Christopher.
