The Hybrid Rogue

Chapter A new Era

"Would you two stop! You guys are always arguing and acting dumb!" I yelled at my brothers. Channing, my big brother of just 3 minutes, liked to tease our smaller triplet, Anthony all the time. I was the peace keeper. We had a few younger siblings as well, they ran off to play. We were turning eighteen tomorrow and mom was throwing this huge party in our favor.

"Listen to your sister Boys! Knock it off!" Mom came in not actually knowing what was going on either. "Ali, sweetheart, we need to go meet the tailer for a fitting of your dress. Chan, Tony, you two head to find your father. He wants a word with you."

When we were in the car, my mom broke the silence, "Ali, your father decided to choose Channing to lead his pack, I am choosing you to lead the kingdom. Channing will take over the pack in a few years, but you, I decided we can wait till you feel ready. Its a big responsibility."

"Wait, what? I thought Channing would just lead both. Also, what about Tony?" My mind goes a million miles an hour over all this.

"Well, I spoke with your father. I felt that you would fit the roll to rule better. You don't argue with anyone, you compromise, and you defuse situations. Like a true leader. Your brother acts like an Alpha more than anything, trust me on that one. As for Tony, none of this is truly him. He would be better off allowed to live his life. Oh, I can't wait to see you guys meet mates tomorrow!" She was trying to change the subject to one I was not excited over.

"I don't want a mate mom. Plus, Uncle Vlad said there is a chance we don't actually have a mate. I hope he is right!" I felt the eye roll from my mother.

"No, a mate is a blessing and shouldn't be taken for granted. When we found out we were expecting you three, we joked about how you would end up with other species, Channing with a mermaid, you with a Centaur, and Anthony with a God. Even then I could tell he was going to be different. We are all firsts. Creating a world of unity through hybrids. It isn't about duty though, its about your own happiness. I didn't want a mate either. Then I met your father, my world changed forever. Though I could have gone without all the threats and the attempts to capture me, I wouldn't change anything because I wouldn't have you guys."

My mom's words stuck into my mind. When our party was here, I couldn't believe we were turning 18. My childhood felt over. But, goddess, please not a centaur. Ew!

We went into the ball room, each brother on my sides, the guests were mixed of different beings, but looked the same, minus their clothing.

"I smell... my mate..." Channing was the first to fall for the bond. He walked up and sure enough, it was a mermaid! Shit, I better not get some half horse jack ass!

"Shit, I smell my mate too. Sorry, Al." He walked over and well, not a God, but a man at least. He was a centaur. Thank goddess! My mom wasn't exactly right!

Then it hit me. The smell. My mate was here too. I followed the scent to a man, gorgeous like a god. Wait, what if he was a God?

"Hi, my name is Alicia, everyone calls me Ali. You're apparently my mate." I smile at him.

"Shit. Well, happy birthday. This must be a cruel joke though. Call me Apollo. My sister, Artemis, must be playing some joke on me." Shit, he is a god.

"No joke brother. She's a gift for you. She has a great future and you by her side would help both of you in what will be needed." It was the Moon goddess! At my party! What was going on? Not even my mother ever had Gods visit, I didn't think we actually knew them.

"Well, this should be interesting." Apollo said. "I, Apollo, god of the sun and light, music and poetry, healing and plagues, prophecy and knowledge, order and beauty, archery and agriculture, accept you, Alicia, Princess of the United Kingdom, as my soulmate."

"I, Alicia, Princess of the United Kingdom, accept you as well as my soulmate." The words just spilled out, I wanted to fight this but, I was memorized.

"Well, shall we go introduce me to your family now, my love?" Apollo puts his arm out for me to wrap mine into.

'No one said this will be easy.' My Hybrid companion, Izzy, chimed in.

'Yeah, what he said, this shall be interesting.' I was thinking of how much of an adventure I will have coming to me really soon.
