Arrivederci ( G o o d b y e )

"An Alpha is supposed to face their problems, meet them head-on. Only a coward Alpha runs from them, I am not saying you are a coward but just take it in - sometimes problems are also entitled to mental health and prides." My therapist tells me.

Don't hit him.

"I will see you tomorrow." I stand up without giving him a proper closure again. I was stressed and my mind was dancing in the small boundary - aditionally recognized as my skull. Furthermore, I was already having a headache.

"Sure, if you are there." It was meant to be only for his ears however, I heard, I still didn't say anything. I share most of my things with my therapist and I also shared what went down yesterday.

I shut the door slowly.

He was right though, I shouldn't be running from my problems. I am an Alpha and I ought to face them full head-on. That includes my mate Lycan King.

Also, I have to think before I speak, control my temper and not act stupids.

I never knew that I had to keep these three things in check to be successful, I mean my father never stopped me from doing what I wanted and I grew up like that.

Let's just say that I am emotionally unstable. Everyone has their flaws.

I decided that I would not go to the council today. Darius wasn't willing to listen to me the last time, what gives that he would spare my thoughts a penny.

I don't care what happens next anymore, all I know is that I will get over it when it comes.

I have a Pack to look after, not myself.

Also, today was my birthday. No way was I going to ruin my day just like that.

My pack had planned a party for me - a surprise party but I already knew - and I was planning to enjoy it to my fullest.

It's not like you turn 20 every other day.

I walk away from the therapist's room and down to the ground floor where my Beta and Gamma waited for me.

Pack members walked past me, giving me slight bows and greetings which I happily reply to.

"Good morning Alpha."

"Morning." I was feeling better than I did a while ago.

Better enjoy it while it lasts. My conscience spoke but I shrug it off. Nothing was going to happen. I was going to be fine.

I hope.

Finally, I reached my two very worried pack members - Beta and Gamma - and sat down on the couch in front of them.

"Why are you gentlemen scowling like this?" I ask and both the men raise their heads to look at me.

"How are you not worried?" My Beta asked and I shrugged. I was worried but I just didn't show it because if I did, my other pack members would also get tensed. I did not want to trouble them.

"Why should I be?"

"Why you should be?" My Gamma stood up with anger clear on his face, "We are not sure what will fucking happen tonight. Will we even have an Alpha by the end of the night or not and you are here not even worried?"

Sometimes, it feels like my Gamma is my Alpha but what can I say, I am really frank with these two brothers and they both have grown protective over me.

"You haven't even gone to the council today! Imagine their anger!" This time my Beta stood up and I sighed. They were giving me a headache.

I know guys! I know what you mean and I am a mess from the inside - but I can't show you both. It feels as if me being a female Alpha is a burden for you both and I don't want myself to be a burden.

"Rela-"

"If you are relaxed, it doesn't mean we should be too! How careless of an Alpha are you? Darius Valentino won't waste a fucking second before taking you away and what will we be left with? No one!" My Gamma burst and left after giving me a pointed glare.

Guess I was still a burden no matter what.

I close my eyes but then open them and look at my Beta.

"Do you have to give me a lecture too?"

"He is right you know. Who will lead us if something happens to yo-"

"Nothing will happen to me, and if something does happen . . . One of you will be in charge." I tell him and my Beta sighs.

"But trust me, I cannot leave my only home. I will not allow him to take me by choice."

A frown was etched on his face and I sighed. He was really worried and here I was, taking everything like a joke.

Taking my mate's threat a joke, but the thing is, I wasn't.

"Don't worry, everything will be alright," I reassure my Beta once again who nods and also walk away, but what he didn't know was that it was to assure myself.

After looking and talking with these two, my smile had completely fallen from my face and my mood was sullen again.

Way to go 20th birthday!

I make my way to my office and decide that it was best if I start working again.

I don't have time to worry about Darius Valentino.

...

I was dressed in a very simple black dress which had netted over the neck area.

The fact that I wanted to just blend in among the crowd had me picking this dress up.

The dress was really simple but my type - Also, it looked good on me. My thick red hair was open loose over my back in natural waves and I had chosen black wedges for shoes.

I had a really light makeup that consisted of nude eyeshadow and pink lips.

I found myself looking good - I didn't care what others would say anyway, what would they say anyway? - and then I finally walked out.

It was night and there was no sign of Darius Valentino. Huh, I knew he would not be able to do anything.

The night will pass without any problems. I hope.

I walk down from my top floor to the bottom and meet my Beta there.

"Where is your brother?" I asked the Beta who was also dressed in party wear.

"He will not be coming, he had taken upon himself to guard the border for you. He is truly worried about you." I sigh at his words. He shouldn't be worried.

I am so happy to have someone like him, to be honest. My Gamma is one of a kind.

"You don't have to do this. If he does comes, I might try to talk to him-"

"You think he will listen now? After you just skipped on a council meeting?" My Gamma snapped.

"You are right but - nevermind."I close the mind link. I had nothing to say.

"Okay, never mind. Let's go or we will be late." I tell my Beta who nods and we both walk to the vehicle which further takes us to the club where my party was being held.

The rest of the pack was already there and now it was our turn to make an entrance.

But something worried me.

I was finding it hard to feel my wolf. She was still there, just a lot less presence. What was wrong - I did not know.

I think, there was something in that damn tea that I drank in the breakfast that other day that had caused this. It had to be it.

Nevertheless, I pushed all my thoughts aside and walk in with my Beta in tow.

The second I enter, the whole crowd starts singing the normal 'Birthday song' and I thank everyone.

"Thank you everyone for making my day even more precious." I smiled.

Afterward, the cake is cut and the party starts.

Everyone got under the influence of alcohol while I sat in a room on the second floor, admiring the view from the large window.

Sometimes, being alone makes everything worthwhile.

I silently thought about my future - Darius - until I spot someone. Someone running towards the club from behind the trees and my eyes widens. I stand up and lean forward to get a better look only to find out it was my Gamma.

"Alpha! Run! He's here! He's here!" And that's when the warning bells in my head go on.

I immediately get out of the room and climb down the stairs only to get a strong whiff of my mate.

He was here. Lycan King was here to get me!

But Gamma just said he was here, just how quick was Darius?

I look at the entrance with my mouth agape and eyes wide as he enters and I immediately turn around, running up the flight of the stairs and into the room where I came from.

How was he so fast?

I look around as my heart pounds angrily against my chest and I am lost from my thoughts. I could not think of anything except the window In front of me.

I hear someone climbing up the stairs and then without a thought, I jump from the window at full speed.

I had to get away because judging by his face and demeanor, he was in no mood to talk.
