The Heart Sees

I walked around the borders of the pack in wolf form, inspecting all of our security. I won't let that bastard sneak in and steal Lu away from me. I spoke to all the scouts, trackers, and warriors telling them to stay sharp and keep an eye out.

I fixed a couple of holes in the border walls and did a run around the whole property not once but twice. I had to be sure that Chase was nowhere close and that Lu would be safe. Thankfully none of my pack members questioned me and they all obeyed, amping up security well. We placed a bunch of traps outside the border fence in case anyone got to close.

"Alpha we can confirm there is no threat in this area" Liam said to me as he bowed.

"Well done Liam. Would you like to come back to the pack house with me after I speak to the head warrior?" I mind linked him.

"Yes alpha" he replied with a bright smile. I nodded at him then mind linked the head of the warriors. I explained that someone may try and attack in the next month and that they are after one of the pack members, although I didn't say who. I wanted to say the luna, but Lu isn't mine....not yet anyways.

I'm really hoping that she'll come forward and ask me soon.... it's so hard to stay away from her sweet omega scent. 'She'll ask us.... I know she will. I can tell her wolf likes us a lot' Brax reassured me.

'I just hope we don't go crazy before that... it was really hard to keep my hands to myself last night' I sighed.

I turned to Liam and signalled it was time to head out. I thanked all of the warriors and told them to mind link me if they see anything out of the ordinary. I know that I am a lucky alpha to have such a great pack and the pack could benefit from a luna.

I had looked after I recovered from Martha a bit... but no one caught my attention or seemed right for the pack. Not to mention I didn't have a lot of options because no one wanted to be with a blind alpha. I got back to the pack house around 7 and couldn't wait to go see Lu... I know Terry kept her safe but it doesn't hurt for me to check on her. I shifted and so did Liam as he tossed me some clothes that we had left here earlier.

After we were both changed we headed up to the alpha apartment. I took the steps with ease, knowing where every creak is in the old wood. I really do rely a lot on my hearing now that I can't see. Liam followed silently behind me as we approached Lu's room. I knocked on the door but got no response and when I opened it and it was empty I started to panic.

"Where is she?' I yelled at Terry through the mind link.

'Your room still... she didn't want to leave I think she likes your scent' Terry responded with a chuckle and I breathed a sigh of relief that she's okay.

I went down the hall to my room and opened the door without knocking. I heard footsteps and recognized Terry's scent as he approached me. He patted my shoulder before turning to Liam behind me. "Want to go make some hot chocolate?" Terry asked Liam , who responded eagerly. I smiled as they made jokes with each other on their way to the kitchen.

"How did your patrol check go?" I heard Lu's sweet voice, but she sounded nervous.

"Good, nothing was out of place but I have told everyone to be alert. It Chase gets anywhere near the pack I'll know right away" I explained and I could hear her heart beat calming a bit. 1

"That's good news" she chuckled shakily.

I walked into the room and sat in the chair beside the bed. "What did you and Terry do all day?" I asked curiously.

"We made dinner and watched a movie... but mostly just talked" Lu replied gently.

"What did you talk about?" I prodded.

"I was actually asking for advice...." I could tell she was fidgeting based on all of the rustling... she was still nervous.

"Oh?" I asked, still confused about what Terry could give advice on.

"Sit with me?" She asked cutely and I smirked at her. I sat beside her on the bed and breathed in her scent, Brax purring in my head.

She took a deep breath before placing her little hand gently on my cheek, turning my head towards her. Then she moved her hand down to mine, brushing it over my chest on the way down and I sucked in a breath. "I want to ask you something" she started and I nodded.

"You can ask me anything" I stated as she squeezed my hand a bit tighter.

"Just.... hear me out until the end before you say anything okay?" She asked nervously, biting her lower lip. I nodded at her, looking at her curiously. "Ever since you found me when I stumbled on your territory... I've felt drawn to you. I was hurting because my mate rejected me, but you made me feel a bit better. Everyday you have been helping me... treating me like a princess really" she chuckled nervously and I smiled at her. "My wolf and I both like you so.... " she took a deep breath and I waited patiently for her to continue. "I know I am only an omega... and you probably need a stronger person but.... I was wondering... if you would..... will you be my chosen mate?" She stumbled over her words and I sat there in shock.

'Did she just ask to mate us?' I checked with Brax to make sure I heard right.

'Yes!!!!' Brax yipped happily.

'I was not expecting that' I was shocked... she really likes us.

'Say something you dummy!' Brax growled at me.

"Are you sure? I don't want to burden you with my blindness" I asked her. I hated to do it but I had to know that she was sure.

"Yes I'm sure" she said firmly.

I sat there a minute... this feels a bit selfish.. to keep her restricted like this. Not being able to see will always get in the way. I use my other senses so I can generally function fine. 'Just kiss her already!' Brax snarled at me.

I raised my hand to her cheek, "please say something" she said, on the verge of tears. I brushed her cheek with my thumb before I leaned in and pressed my lips to hers. She tastes amazing... and her lips are so soft. I nibbled on her bottom lip and I could tell she was surprised, but thankfully she snapped out of it and started moving her lips against mine. I smiled into the kiss and made an audible groaning sound when she pulled away to catch her breath.

"Is that a yes?" She asked hopefully.

"Yes Lu" I smiled at her and she sqeaked, tackling me so that I was laying on my back on the bed, with her on top. I wrapped my arms around her, leaning in close and placing kisses along her neck. She moaned and squirmed a bit on top of me, the rubbing motion driving me crazy.

'Mark mate! Mate is ours!' Brax demanded.

'I have to ask first' I replied to Brax.

'Well hurry up! I want mate!' Brax snarled.

"I want to mark you" I stated.

"Right now?" She asked, seeming surprised.

"Yes... I'll complete the whole mating process now if you want" I smirked at her and felt her heat up against me, most likely blushing.

"I'm not ready for that... after what happened" she mumbled.

"That's okay Lu... but can I at least mark you?" I pleaded. "Please?"

"Depends alpha..... can I mark you?" She asked cutely.

"Please... call me Troy. We're mates now" I chuckled at her and I felt her nod against me. "Yes, you can mark me" I said excitedly.

"Will it hurt if I go over your old mark?" She asked sadly. "I don't want to hurt you".

"No, I promise I'll only enjoy it" I smiled at her, rubbing my thumb gently across her cheek.

"Should I go first or-" she started but I cut her off by peppering her neck with kisses. She moaned and relaxed on top of me. I wrapped my arms around her and flipped us over so I was on top. She sqeaked when she was pinned beneath me, squirming against me as she grabbed my shirt in her hands.

"This will hurt but only for a second and then it'll feel good. I promise" I mumbled, kissing her neck to find her sweet spot.

"Okay" she said breathlessly. I smiled, kissing abover her collar bone, I managed to find her sweet spot in the crook of her neck on her left side.

"Are you sure?" I asked one more time as my canines extended. I scraped them lightly against her sweet spot and felt her shiver beneath me. "It can't be undone... once I do this you're mine forever" I explained, pausing my assault so she could answer.

"I'm sure Troy" she said softly, putting her hand against my cheek. Hearing my name out of her mouth was a serious turn on. I leaned down, unable to hold off any longer as I sunk my canines into her neck, marking her as mine. She squeaked a bit at first, tensing against me, but it quickly turned to moans as she started grinding against me. I licked the wound to heal it then peppered more kisses on her neck and cheek before pulling up to give her some breathing room.

I heard her panting before she used her tiny hands to push against my chest. I took the hint and rolled onto my back. I grunted when she straddled me, grinding slightly against my crotch as she hovered over me. I could tell she was nervous so I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her closer. She hesitantly started kissing along my neck and I made moaning and grunting noises. Then she kissed over my faded mark and I took a sharp breath. She nibbled on it a bit, making sure it was the right spot as I hardened painfully against her. I tiled my head to the side to give her more access. She brushed her canines against my neck and I gripped her tighter. Then she sunk them into my neck and I bucked against her, a small sting of pain followed by overwhelming pleasure as our souls connected. She licked at my neck, closing the wound before laying still on my chest.

We were both panting messes as we lay there happily. I rubbed circles on her back and she let out a yawn. "That was amazing" she said sleepily.

"Yeah..." I said breathlessly. "Are you tired Lu?" I asked and she just mumbled at me. "Sleep" I said and she stiffened a bit, I could feel that she was anxious. "I'll be right here when you wake up" I reassured her and she relaxed. It didn't take her long to fall asleep on my chest. I ran my fingers through her hair, inhaling out slightly entangled scent.

I brushed my finger over her mark, feeling the outline of two hearts with a wolf in the middle. She shivered under my touch, moaning unconsiously. I moved my hand to my neck, rubbing my finger over the newly forming mark. It was a moon with two wolves in front of it. I smiled, I have a mate again....

I hugged Lu tighter. I'll do whatever I can to make sure she never regrets this decision. She is going to be spoiled, even if she tries to tell me not to. I can't wait to have the luna ceremony and introduce her to the pack. 'Our mate' Brax purred happily and I relaxed, feeling Lu's happiness flow through the bond.
