The Heart Made of Broken Gold

Chapter 1

Chapter 1: The Angry Princess

King Henry is facing difficulties in obtaining a divorce, but Queen Katherine offers to grant him one on the condition that he ensures Princess Mary’s obedience as the next in line. King Henry accepts this condition. Reflecting on Prince Arthur’s advice about finding true love, Queen Katherine deeply regrets marrying King Henry and has never experienced happiness with him. The only positive outcome of their marriage is the birth of Princess Mary.

Queen Katherine is concerned about Princess Mary because she is aware that her daughter is struggling with the divorce. Queen Katherine sympathizes with Princess Mary’s feelings. Princess Mary holds resentment towards Anne Brooks. However, Queen Katherine does not share the same anger towards Anne Brooks. Princess Mary desires to seek revenge against Anne. Queen Katherine is anxious about Princess Mary’s well-being.

“Mary, I understand your pain. I am also experiencing pain. I was not content with your father. Your Uncle Arthur advised me to marry a man who loves me, but I disregarded his advice,” Queen Katherine responded.

“Dad does love you. That sorceress is enchanting him!” Princess Mary objects.

“That is not true. Your dad does not love me and I knew he did not love me. I only wanted to be queen and I did not care if he did not love me,” Queen Katherine replied.

“That is not true. You are just saying that to defend that witch. “I shall vanquish that wicked witch!” Princess Mary exclaims boldly.

“That is enough. You need to stop calling Anne names. Please stop thinking about revenge. You need to move on and stop thinking about revenge because you are only getting hurt worst. I feel bad for Anne because I know your dad is going to do the same thing to her,” Queen Katherine replied.

“I sincerely wish that Dad will actually end his relationship with that awful woman. I hope she experiences the same pain that you went through!” Princess Mary’s reply was filled with rage.

“I am no longer willing to listen to you. I understand that you are angry. Anne is going to have your sibling, and that child should not be blamed for what your Dad or Anne have done!” Queen Katherine responded with anger.

Princess Mary became upset with her mother for defending Anne and she stormed away. Queen Katherine was unsure of how to handle Princess Mary.

Several months later, the divorce between King Henry and Queen Katherine is officially completed. Queen Katherine has now assumed the title of Princess Katherine. King Henry and Anne are preparing to wed. Princess Mary, however, did not attend the wedding, which greatly angered King Henry, leading him to exile her from the castle. Despite some disapproval of King Henry’s treatment towards Princess Katherine, the entire kingdom attended the wedding. Many people sympathized with Princess Katherine, as she was well-loved. Princess Jackie and Anne were friends, and Princess Jackie held a favorable opinion of her.

Anne went into labor three months after getting married. The couple decided not to find out the baby’s gender in order to be surprised. Eventually, Anne gave birth to a daughter whom they named Elizabeth. Princess Elizabeth was a stunning child. However, King Henry was disappointed and took some time before visiting Princess Elizabeth. He longed for a male heir. Anne reassured him that she would bear him a son.
