The Guardian Host-Resurrection-Book one of The Guardian Host Series

Chapter The Superior Council

Looking at my surroundings, I was astonished at what I saw.

I stood in a round room with a thirty-foot-high ceiling, and the walls combined white and soft brown colors.

The domed ceiling was a luminous white color. On the ceiling were dozens of teleportation disks positioned in a design so they looked like part of the architecture.

The floor was light brown with alien symbols etched on it. The characters branched off from a prominent mark in the center of the room, extending out from the large one like spokes on a wheel.

The writing was similar to hieroglyphics from ancient Egyptian texts. There were no doors or windows, and the walls had no observable seams.

The walls, floors, and ceiling were gleaming, yet no reflections were coming off them.

Five very tall, dark gray chairs resembling thrones were on the far wall before me. Each was about ten feet tall and had a different symbol on the headrest.

They were in a formation on the circular wall.

There was one throne in the center with two thrones on each side.

The thrones looked like they were a single piece of shiny metal. The base of the thrones was concave towards the wall and built into the floor.

Each throne had intricate designs, sharp designs, and a complicated series of symbols inscribed into it.

The headrest of each throne was the only part with no carvings, except the symbol engraved in the center of each one.

The light in the room originated from everywhere, making it bright but not painful to the eye.

Pyruviox was standing in the center of the prominent symbol on the floor. He motioned for me to join him with his thin hand.

“Vincent, please join me here.”

I stepped towards him slowly as I surveyed the beauty of the majestic chamber.

“Where’s everybody at,” I asked as I reached the center of the room.

“They will be here momentarily. You must let them speak first as a sign of respect and honor.”

“Okay,” I answered, nodding in agreement.

I looked up at the ceiling as five of the disks moved towards the thrones quietly. They descended to the ground in front of each throne.

The disks fit perfectly in the concave section of the throne like a glove. As the disks ascended towards the ceiling, I saw bottoms of what appeared to be robes materializing from the bottom of each disk.

The disks proceeded up the thrones, revealing the entire body of the tall aliens. Each alien was about eight to ten feet tall, and they all wore thick robes that appeared to shine in the light and concealed them to their feet.

The being in the middle wore a robe combining dark purple and deep red colors.

His robes went all the way to the floor, and I could tell by the two bulges at the bottom that he was as tall as his robe. His hands and head were the only visible parts of the alien.

His arms were resting on his lap. His fingers were elongated, thin, and extended to about a quarter down his legs.

His head was enormous compared to mine but appeared proportionately to his height. His eyes were small, round, and completely black.

They almost looked like they were too small for his face. He had no nose but a long slit for a mouth. His forehead was immense, and, of course, he was hairless.

The other four aliens looked the same, except that their robes were a royal blue mixed with a deep blue. They all bowed slightly to look at us in the center of the room.

I felt very intimidated by their size and how their eyes looked. I could tell they were wise beyond my comprehension.

“Welcome, Pyruviox. Welcome, Vincent Vandraken of Earth. We are the Volistian Superior Council. We have converged here to provide the ruling of the deliberation concerning Volaxion.”

“Thank you, master counselor; we are ready to proceed with the verdict.”

“Before we disclose the verdict, we desire to hear from you, Vincent Vandraken of Earth. Please, give us your opinions about what we should do with Volaxion.”

I was anxious about addressing this council that was far more intellectual than me.

I cleared my throat and bowed before the council as best as possible, then nervously began addressing them.

Please say the right thing. Don’t screw this up.

“Superior Council of Volistan, first, I would like to thank you for allowing me to join you in this majestic chamber. Master Counselor, I recommend that Volaxion merges with me and I become his host. However, that would be an inconsiderate recommendation and unjust to you or any other race.

I would love for Volaxion to come home with me and help me be the guardian of my people so that I would do justice in the name of your people. However, I would leave that determination in the hands of superior beings like yourselves to do what suits all races in all dimensions and galaxies.

If you decide that Volaxion goes with you, I will be hurt deeply by my loss, but I will be at ease knowing others will be safe because of your decision. If permitted to host Volaxion, I vow I will not abuse that power and will use it to protect my people and any other race that requires a guardian. Thank you for your time, master counselor.”

The beings glanced at each other, and from what I could tell, they were communicating telepathically amongst themselves.

After about thirty seconds, they all bowed before focusing on us.

“Vincent Vandraken of Earth, our judgment has been finalized. Once we announce it, it will not reversed. We have listened to your proposal and the recommendation of Volaxion concerning this verdict. Do you comprehend that this is irreversible?”

I swallowed nervously.

“Yes, master counselor, I understand.”

“This council decides that Volaxion should return to the people of Volistan due to the increasing threat of the Dondravens. We agree that Volaxion should return to Volistan to stand as a guardian over our people.”

What the hell?

I was in shock over the verdict. I felt all the blood rush from my face and felt sick. I wanted to cry out and tell them what they were doing was unfair to me.

I wanted to have Volaxion back and go back home as if none of this happened.

I felt my emotions rising and tears welling in my eyes.

How could they do this to me?

“However, the increasing Dondraven threat has reached your planet as well. We fear that your race is compromised. Our ultimate conclusion is that Volaxion returns with you so you can be the lone guardian of your people. We have seen your empathy and deduced that you will be a superb guardian. Perhaps the purest that we have ever witnessed.”

What? Yes!

My face went from despair to joy in less than a second, and the tears that welled up in my eyes started to fall due to the overwhelming sensation of happiness.

I felt like clutching Pyruviox and jumping up and down for joy. I was afraid that would either kill him or give him an intergalactic heart attack or something.

“Thank you, master counselor,” I said with a big smile.

“You are welcome, guardian. Considering recent events regarding your conflict with Dryservious, we have also decided to bestow upon you the proper symbol of the guardian. Upon your chest, you will have a symbol reflecting your guardianship, so every race you encounter will know you are a true guardian. We may contact you to aid us or other interplanetary beings, which we expect you to answer. Do you comprehend all that I have explained?"

“Yes, master counselor, I understand.”

“Outstanding. This matter has concluded. You will now return to the transport ship to merge with Volaxion. After your merger, you will return to your home planet of Earth. We wish you the best in your guardianship. Thank you, Vincent Vandraken, and thank you, Pyruviox.”

With that, the five disks levitated towards the council members and slowly descended to the floor, making them all disappear into the dark matter in the center of the disks.

The disks floated back to their original positions on the ceiling while two others floated towards Pyruviox and me.

The disks descended upon us, and I felt my body warm up once more and enjoyed the tunnel as I teleported to the ship.

Once aboard the ship, Pyruviox guided me through the science room, down the hallway, and then to the room I had initially been in.
