The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 89

After a while, Damian found out the addresses of Meredith's current company and home, and wrote them down on a piece of paper.

But he didn't dare show it to Derek directly, so he carefully put it in a document and handed it over. Derek was reading the document in front of him when he saw a piece of paper fall out. The contents on it made him frown.

When did this damned Damian learn to make his own decisions?

After thinking about it, Derek was about to tear the paper up and throw it away, however, he still couldn't help but take a look at the contents.

Meredith's interview went well. After she was told that she was given a trial, a colleague took her around and explained what she needed to do in the coming days.

Meredith took a lot of relevant information back home to read. When she was back, she found that there were many people gathering downstairs of her house.

"Whose Rolls-Royce is this? It doesn't look like a fake."

"Are there rich people in our poor neighborhood?"

Meredith lived in a very ordinary residential area, where people living were ordinary and worked from nine to five every day, so they certainly were curious when they saw a luxury car worth more than ten million.

Meredith was not interested in it. She walked over and glanced at it, then her expression became a little strange. She felt this car looked familiar.

Just as she was thinking, the door was opened.

Derek got out of the car leisurely, as if he completely didn't notice the envious or jealous eyes of the people around.

After off work, he drove to Meredith's current address unconsciously. However, he saw a narrow and dilapidated residential building.

Was Meredith out of her mind? Would she rather live in such a shabby place than still live in the villa of the Xaviers?

Derek was even more upset at the thought of this.

After a while, Derek saw Meredith come back.

She seemed happier than when she was in the Xaviers. Although she was still so thin, she did not look haggard. The gloomy air over her disappeared and she exuded vitality and vigour.

Leaving him really made her invigorated and refreshed?

Derek locked the car with an expressionless look and walked towards Meredith, who was still standing there, "I think you should have something to say to me."

Meredith had just recovered from the shock. She had never expected Derek to come to such a place to look for her.

"I already told Grandpa Xavier all that I should say. So I don't think we have something to say." Meredith turned around and left, not wanting to talking to Derek anymore.

Although she did not know what Derek came here for, anyway, he definitely wasn't for congratulating her on moving into a new house.

Meredith believed the less trouble the better, and didn't want to cause trouble for herself.

When Derek saw that Meredith left without hesitation, he clenched his fists and ran after her, "So, why are you in such a hurry to go home? You rush to see your paramour?”

"Derek, that's enough!"

Meredith couldn't stand it any longer. When she was in the Xaviers, Derek kept humiliating her with such words. Now they had divorced and had nothing to do with each other, but he still came to her and reminded her of the unmentionable past. She was really fed up with it!

"Enough? Of course it's not.”

Seeing that Meredith was angry, Derek was more certain that she was in such a hurry to leave because she wanted to stay with that man.

"Since I'm here, I'd like to see what the man who fascinates you like this looks like.”

With that, Derek stopped Meredith with his arm and leaned over to say coldly, "I'd like to know whether that man will still love you or abandon you after he knows that I slept with you and that you had ever been in prison.”

Meredith widened her eyes. Derek's words made her heart chill.

It turned out that in his heart, she was such a worthless woman.

"It's illegal for you to break into a house like this!"

"So? You want to call the police? Then you can try it," Derek raised his eyebrows indifferently. He didn't believe that any police officer would dare to arrest him.

Meredith bit her lower lip hard. She of course understood Derek's words. With his influence in J City, who would dare to offend him?

When they confronted with each other and no one wanted to yield, an old lady, Meredith's neighbor, came out to take out the trash. When she saw Meredith standing with a tall handsome man who looked like a star, she immediately was curious and tried to gossip.

"Oh, Meredith, who is this? Oh? This guy really looks familiar, and looks like... I can't recall the name."

Seeing that the lady was very interested in Derek, Meredith was also helpless. In particular, she seemed to know who Derek was. Meredith was afraid of causing unnecessary trouble, so she quickly opened the door and said to the old lady, "Sorry, I have to go back to cook. We can talk next time.” Derek naturally followed her in, and Meredith gave him an angry look, "Why did you come in?" Derek ignored her and looked at the slightly crowded one-bedroom house. Although it was small, it was clean and there were a lot of ornaments in it, which made people feel the warmth of home. Although it was not as luxurious and spacious as the house of the Xaviers, it was also considered warm and comfortable

So, was this Meredith's new home with that man?

Derek's face was calm, but a wave of anger surged in his heart. He went straight in, intending to see what the man looked like.

Seeing his arrogant behavior, Meredith couldn't help but frown, "You stepped on my floor with your shoes and got it dirty!"

She had worked so hard to clean the floor yesterday. However, Derek actually stepped on it directly in his leather shoes.

He was really a young master who lived a luxurious life and never went through the hardship in ordinary life.

"Then hurry up and give me slippers.”

Meredith sneered, "Sorry, I don't have any at home."

She just moved in yesterday and only bought daily necessities for herself. As for the less commonly used men's slippers, she didn’t even intended to buy them. She didn't have much money and didn't want to waste it.

Derek was stunned and glanced at the shoe rack beside him. There were indeed no men's shoes on it, and even just a few women's shoes.

"So, does that man usually go in barefoot?"

"If I say there is no any man at my home, do you believe me?"

Meredith rolled her eyes at Derek, who was still standing at the door, and then she ignored him and put the eggs and vegetables she had bought into the refrigerator.

According to the books about pregnancy and baby she bought, she had to get enough nutrition in the early stages of pregnancy and have three meals a day on time. Although she was so annoyed by Derek's words that she was not hungry now, she still had to cook and eat something for healthy growth of the baby in her belly.

Derek took off his shoes and walked in. He glanced around casually. There was indeed no one else in the house, and there seemed to be no trace of a man.
