Chapter 331
Nora was also dumbfounded. She did not expect Derek would be so good at this.
Of course, they won. After receiving the prize, they returned to the hotel.
As soon as she entered the room, her cell phone rang. It was a call from her good friend Penelope. She picked it up without hesitation and heard a familiar voice.
"Nora, where are you?"
"Penelope, what's wrong?”
"Nothing. Sheldon couldn't find you, so he called me."
Sheldon?
Nora was stunned. She completely forgot about it. Before she left the country, Sheldon told her that he would be back soon. So he must arrive by now.
Her phone's volume was a bit high, so Derek and Easton heard this too.
Derek narrowed his eyes and a dangerous light flashed across them. He naturally had investigated the woman who was on the phone with Nora.
He didn't expect that Sheldon would try to call Nora's friend. What a mistake.
After Nora hung up the phone, she thought of something and immediately looked at Derek. A feeling of guilt flashed through her heart. She was stunned and then angry.
Although she had a son with Derek, she had nothing to do with him now. Why should she feel guilty?
Thinking of this, she was a little annoyed. "Mr. Xavier, it looks like I have to go back tomorrow. If you still have something to deal with, I can leave myself."
He just smiled and said lightly, "Nothing to deal with. We'll leave together tomorrow."
She was relieved that he did not refuse.
Easton pursed his lips and was unhappy. He was having a good time, but now his trip was ended because of that guy Sheldon. "I hate him,” Easton thought.
Nora opened the contacts on her phone and muttered to herself in confusion, "He can call me. Why did he say he could not find me..."
Derek's eyes flickered and he stopped her from calling Sheldon. "It's very late now. We're going back tomorrow. You can have a better talk with him after you see him.”
If she called Sheldon, she would know what he had done. He had to find a chance to remove his number from the blacklist later.
The next day, they took the earliest flight back.
Nora called Sheldon and made an appointment.
After Sheldon returned from abroad, his mother began to complain about Nora in front of him in tears. And this time, he couldn't smooth things over with just a few words.
No matter what he comforted his mother calmly, his mother insisted to ask him to break up with Nora, which made him very unhappy.
His mother even scolded him and gave him an ultimatum. She said if he didn't break up with Nora, she would disown him.
Sheldon naturally wouldn't let that happen, so he really didn't know what to do.
He felt that he couldn't hesitate any longer. Now that he was back, he should get married to Nora as soon as possible. But the wedding might be off the table because it would upset his mother.
He would explain to Nora, or deceive her by saying that the wedding could wait and that they should get their marriage licenses first.
When he got what he wanted, he would divorce her, which was not a big deal.
He had made up his mind, but he couldn't get through to Nora's number, and nor could he find her, so he called Penelope.
In the cafe.
As soon as Nora entered, she saw Sheldon who was sitting by the window. She walked over immediately.
"Sheldon, I'm sorry I'm late. There's a bit of traffic on the road.”
Of course, Sheldon wouldn't blame her. A smile appeared on his handsome face. "It's okay. I haven't been here long either.”
As he spoke, he stood up and pulled out the chair across from her. He was being considerate, but Nora was a little flattered.
Although he had been very gentle to her in their five-year relationship, it was the first time he had done this for her. She had every reason to be shocked.
After they sat down, he handed over the menu. "I ordered your coffee and some popular desserts. See what else you want to eat.”
Nora was very uncomfortable with his rare attentiveness. She smiled awkwardly and waved her hand. "These are good. I can't eat too much.”
He agreed and closed the menu. Then he crossed his fingers and looked fixedly at her. "Nora, I haven't seen you for so long. I miss you so much.”
Nora was a little flustered, hearing his affectionate words. At this moment, she felt a little dizzy and could not help remembering what Derek had said to her on the stage in F Country yesterday.
She regained her senses, but she was startled when she realized what she was thinking just now. She felt a little ashamed and annoyed. She even wanted to pat her head so as to knock some sense into herself.
"Nora, what's wrong?"
Sheldon saw her like this and asked worriedly, but he was a little unhappy. He didn't know if it was his illusion, but he felt that Nora had changed a little.
"No-nothing.” She took a sip of coffee to hide her strange behavior.
Outside the cafe.
A low-key, luxurious black car pulled up. The door opened and a handsome little boy came down. He was wearing a denim jacket and jeans, a hat, and a pair of glasses. He looked very cool.
It was Easton.
After hearing what Nora said about Sheldon yesterday, he became vigilant. After hearing his father's instructions, he decided to come here himself.
His dad had told him not to let some random man take his mother away from him. He came here today to make the man give up.
"Are you sure they are inside?"
Behind him, a few men dressed in casual clothes nodded respectfully. "Yes, Little Young Master.” "Okay, let's go.”
As he spoke, he extended his arms and one of the men held him in his arms. Several of them walked to the cafe.
The little boy was afraid of being discovered by his mother, so he pulled down the brim of his hat and lowered his head.
The designs of the coffee shop were very elegant. There were beautiful screens placed between every table, so every table looked like a small private room without actual walls.
Several men in plain clothes knew their mission very well and sat directly at the table next to Nora's. Easton immediately jumped down.
The waiter came over with a strange look in his eyes. After all, most of the people who came here for coffee were couples or close friends. It was the first time that he had seen a few men coming together.
"What would you like to drink?"
One of the men looked at Easton. The little guy waved his hand and they ordered a cup of coffee each.
The little guy was not in the mood to drink coffee. He was staring at the screen as if he wanted to burn a hole on it.
His ears were pressed against the screen, and although he could not see, he could hear the two of them talking.
