Chapter 323
Nora looked very calm in the office and said in a calm tone. She told Derek exactly what she thought in her mind, but after returning to the Design Department, she could not calm down when she was alone.
The story that Derek told her echoed in her head over and over again. Five years had passed. It was a memory that belonged to her past. Although she was not touched much, she was still felt complexed.
After she thought for a while, Derek and Easton were the only figures left in her mind.
Derek went straight to the little guy's room after work. He wouldn't hide Nora's identity from his son.
Obviously, this was a blessing to him, but not to Easton, at least not now.
The little guy was shocked and then thought of something. He frowned and looked at Derek suspiciously.
"I don't believe it. I've seen pictures of mommy. It doesn't look like Nora. Dad, it's wrong to lie to child.”
He raised his eyebrows, "When your mother disappeared five years ago, she had an accident. Not only did she lose her memory, but her face was also injured. She had plastic surgery, so she looked different from the picture five years ago.”
He found out what happened after the investigation.
"I did a genetic comparison between the two of you in two hospitals in the country and one foreign institution, and these three institutions all gave positive results. It's undoubtedly that she's your biological mother, Meredith.”
The little guy looked at his father and made sure that Derek wasn't lying to him. His small mouth shriveled and his bean-sized tears slid down without warning.
The next second.
"Crying..." Easton burst into tears, looking very sad.
Derek sighed, sat down, picked up his son, put him on his lap, and rubbed his little head to comfort him.
"Why are you crying? Haven't you always wanted your mother? Now that we found your mother, you should be happy. Your mom is back."
Easton was crying so hard that he hiccupped. He didn't pay attention to what he said and shouted, "But my girlfriend is gone.”
Derek, "..."
His face turned gloomy immediately. He didn't expect that this kid was crying for this. He had the urge to throw him down the window.
Suppressing his anger, he threw him onto the bed, stood up, looked down at the little guy, and frowned, "Shut up. Stop crying.”
As a result, he cried even louder. Not only that, he simply lay on the bed and kept rolling back and forth,
Derek narrowed his eyes and said in a low voice, "Easton, I think you are missing the feeling of my hand slapping on your ass.”
Under the warning and threat, the little guy could only give in and pout, feeling very aggrieved.
His face was red, his big eyes were still teary, and he looked listless. He sniffed and waved his little hand, "Go out. I want to be alone and mourn my lost love.”
Derek, "..." This little bastard.
He took a deep breath and picked him up, "Don't talk nonsense. She's your mother. You're not allowed to call her by her name from now on. Do you hear me?"
Easton's face was grim, and his eyes were full of awkward emotions. The little guy was so embarrassed in his heart but pretended to be calm on the surface. He was in a complicated mood. He was happy, but at the same time, he felt a little ashamed of his previous behavior of treating his mother as his girlfriend.
"Well, Nora... What was her reaction when she found out?"
When he didn't know who Nora was, it was easy for him to call her mother. Now that he knew, the little guy was too shy to call.
What he wanted to ask was whether Nora was happy or unhappy when she knew he was her son. "She was calm." Derek said lightly.
The little guy was dumbfounded and felt terrible. He jumped down from the bed, "Calm? How could it be calm? Dad, you must lie to me."
A smile flashed in Derek's eyes, and his face remained expressionless, "It's possible that a son of this age suddenly appeared. She was too surprised in her heart to show her excitement.”
"All right, let's go downstairs for dinner." After Derek finished speaking, he went out, leaving the little guy alone in a tangled state of mind.
Easton had completely forgotten about the girlfriend thing, and now he was full of thoughts about whether Nora would like him when she found out the truth.
Although she used to like him, things were different now.
Dad said that she had lost her memory and couldn't remember what happened before. Now, a son suddenly appeared. What if... What if she didn’t like him?
Easton sat at the dining table, frowning and losing his appetite. Finally, he threw the spoon away impatiently.
"I don't want to eat anything.”
Derek didn't stop him from running upstairs, but elegantly put down the cutlery, took out his cell phone and called Nora.
Nora answered the phone with hesitation, and then suddenly stood up. She looked anxious, "What? He's not eating anything?”
"Easton is so young. How can he not eat?”
The corners of his mouth curled up in a beautiful arc, but he sighed, "I told him who you are. Maybe because of this, he refused to eat.”
"Nora, this kid is very stubborn. Why don't you come over and see him? Otherwise, he won't eat or drink. He's so young and couldn't survive like this." Derek deliberately made the situation serious. Nora was so anxious that she couldn't judge if Derek was exaggerating and agreed immediately. She came over very quickly, and Derek had been waiting for her in the courtyard.
"Where's Easton? I'll take a look." Her face was full of worry.
"Turn left on the third floor, the first room is his room. You can go." As he spoke, he handed her a tray with a bowl of egg soup and some delicious dishes.
Nora immediately held it upstairs. Along the way, her heart ached as she thought about her son's sad face.
However, the reality was the opposite.
The little guy sat cross-legged on the bed, his hands propped up his chin, and his face tensed up as he thought about life, whether he should send a message to Nora, and what he should say.
A knock on the door interrupted his train of thought. Easton was unhappy and frowned, "Who is it? Don't disturb me.”
After a few seconds, Nora carefully whispered, "Easton?"
The little guy's eyes were wide open, and he looked silly. When he regained his senses, he immediately wanted to stand up, but he tripped over the bed and looked funny.
He straightened himself up immediately, his little face extremely serious, but he stammered, "Come, come in."
Nora gently opened the door and met Easton's cute face. She was relieved. Fortunately, he didn't cry. She put down the tray and hesitated whether she should move close or not.
Derek said that Easton didn't eat after he knew she was his mother.
