The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 224

Meredith could not help but laugh. She had rarely seen Derek so drowsy. He was always serious in front of everyone, looking like a god who was out of touch with reality.

However, his being like this made Meredith feel closer to him.

"Morning..." Meredith kissed Derek's lips. "Don't you want to sleep a little longer?”

Only then did Derek wake up. He then frowned and glance at the bedding. He remembered that he had come over to sleep with Meredith in his arms yesterday. He had planed to leave before Meredith woke up, but to his surprise, he had slept so soundly...

In that case, how could he let Meredith leave?

Derek's face turned grim. He got up and went into the bathroom to wash up.

Meredith felt a little strange but still did not think too much. After all, Derek was always upset when he got up. She ordered some breakfast that Derek liked, thinking that it would be more comfortable for him to go out and work after eating.

But Derek took a shower in the bathroom and came out to change.

"Have breakfast first. It's good for your stomach.”

As Meredith spoke, Derek who was doing his tie paused. A look of unwillingness flashed in his eyes. "You've been here for a long time. Now go back. I'm leaving soon.”

Derek's tone was very cold. At least, it extinguished more than half of the kindness and warmth in Meredith's heart.

Meredith wanted to say something, but after Derek got dressed, he left directly, leaving her with an unusually cold back.

Meredith felt discouraged. She was really confused by this capricious man.

Could it be that men also have a cycle every month that would make them upset at everything? That was why Derek was acting so weirdly?

Meredith was making blind conjectures. She didn't want to stay here any longer. Her mother didn't know where he had gone and what she had done. If she didn't go back, her mother would be suspicious.

Meredith called the driver to take her. Back to the hospital, she pretended she was coming from home and greeted Amelia with a smile. Nolan was there too. When he saw her, his eyes dimmed. He looked at her and seemed to notice something.

Meredith noticed something. She looked over, but Nolan smiled and looked into her eyes as if he hadn't noticed anything.

Meredith couldn't help shaking her head. Although this Nolan didn't look like a doctor, many of his treatments were really useful. Unlike the conventional treatments, his ideas were bold but effective. So, Meredith didn't say anything. "Mr. Leslie, is my mother recovering well?"

Nolan nodded and looked at Meredith's clothes, thinking that they were the same as yesterday's, and the smell on her changed...

Obviously, she didn’t go home as usual but went somewhere else.

And yesterday... someone seemed to have also come here. Could it be...

Nolan seemed to have remembered something, so he went out to make a phone call.

"It seems that someone is disobedient again?"

The usual modest smile on the man's face was gone. She looked cold and cruel now.

Derek was talking to someone when his phone rang. He took it out, took a look at it, and clenched the phone in his hand. His knuckles went white because he was exerting too much force.
