The Good Girl's Revenge

The next day.

When Meredith got out of bed, she realized that she had ugly dark shadows under her eyes. Her eyes turned red, and she looked like a rabbit.

She wanted to ignore it. But after all, when she thought about the picture, she still couldn't calm down. Last night, she stayed up all night.

Derek had never looked for her since he left. Meredith laughed at herself satirically while thinking of it. Perhaps he had already realized that a rich lady like Chloe was more suitable for him. He didn't want to pay attention to people like her anymore.

Meredith washed her face casually. She was pregnant and couldn't put on makeup. However, she promised Parker to meet him, and she could only find sunglasses and put them on to cover her gaunt eyes.

After getting ready, Meredith left home.

Parker specially made a reservation for a restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. Although he was not here for a date, he still hoped to take this opportunity to stay with Meredith for a while longer. After all, it had been a long time since the two of them had a proper conversation.

Meredith went downstairs and saw Parker's car. She seemed surprised because she hadn't asked him to pick her up. Besides, he didn't even call her when he came. Wouldn't he have waited downstairs for a long time?

"Why didn't you give me a call?" Meredith felt a little embarrassed at the thought of her dawdling. "It's not a big deal to wait a while. Isn't that what a man should do?" Parker said nicely and opened the door in a gentlemanly manner and invited Meredith into the car.

He Parker got into the car and found that Meredith hadn't taken off her sunglasses. He had some thoughts in his mind. "It isn't that bright and sunny today. Why are you wearing sunglasses?" Meredith shook her head. "I... I didn't sleep well yesterday. I feel uncomfortable in my eyes, so I cover them up."

Parker immediately understood that she was lying for she didn't want to say it. He didn't want to embarrass Meredith. "Then I'll send you back after dinner and you can have a good sleep to make up for it."

Meredith nodded. She knew a smart person like Parker had noticed something, but his no further asking made her feel much better.

The two of them set off quietly towards their destination, only occasionally saying a few words along the way. Although it was a little quiet, they felt very relaxing.

Soon, Parker's car stopped at the entrance of the restaurant he had already reserved.

The man got out of the car and opened the door for Meredith. The gentlemanly movements and outstanding appearance quickly attracted the attention of many young girls.

"You're quite popular.” Meredith saw that those girls wanted to come over to talk to him. But when they saw Meredith, they were obviously discouraged, and she found it amusing. "Well, it seems like I'm kinda getting in their way."

Those girls seemed to have misunderstood their relationship. When they saw her, they just looked at Parker in secret and didn't dare to make any conversation.

"If it's possible, 1 would like you to stay in their way." When Parker saw that she seemed to be in a better mood, he smiled as well and replied jokingly, but there was no banter in his eyes, only thick seriousness.

If Meredith was willing to accept him and let him make it up to her, he would not care about these young girls at all.

Meredith noticed it, but could only pretend not to notice it. She smiled awkwardly and said, "Let's go in and eat. I'm a little hungry.”

Meredith knew it was for her. She felt a little warm in her heart and smiled a little more.

"Meredith, what exactly happened to you yesterday? Why did you suddenly think of going abroad?" Seeing that she was in a good mood, Parker asked about it.

Ever since he found out that the man involved with Meredith was Derek, he had been feeling heavy. Only to this man, he did not want to lose.

But all this time, he didn't have a good chance. Last night, he saw a glimmer of hope in the darkness.

Derek must have done something to hurt her before she said she wanted to leave.

"Actually, it's nothing. I'm just tired.” Meredith picked up the milk and took a sip.

Last night, she had thought it through. Derek didn't believe that the child in her womb was his, and there were signs of reconciliation of him with Chloe. It was only a matter of time before he and Chloe got together.

By then, she would be in an awkward situation. Chloe would always find fault with Meredith even before Chloe got back together with Derek, and even... Came to the hospital to beat her up.

What would Chloe do if she found out that Meredith was pregnant with Derek's child?

Chloe might want to hurt the baby, and Meredith didn't want her baby to be at risk.
