The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 133

Meredith went to work as usual, but looking at Derek's empty office, she felt like there was something missing deep down as well.

He hadn't been discharged yet.

The last time she saw him in the hospital, he was still very energetic, lively, and even had the strength to force a kiss on her. Meredith could not help but worry about Derek, which might result from the sequela of the previous serious car accident.

Thinking about it, Meredith couldn't help but feel worried again

As soon as Damian arrived at the company, he saw her looking absent-minded. Soon, he found out the reason why she was so.

"Mr. Xavier has been undergoing intensive examinations recently, but if you want to see him, it's okay, for there should be only doctors there.”

Meredith was a little embarrassed after hearing what he said. Did she give away her feelings in such an obvious way?

However, if there were no outsiders... It was good for her to go over and ask how Derek felt. The last time she was there, she hadn't even had time to figure out whether Derek was okay.

Thinking about it, Meredith packed her things. Damian saw that she was wavering and gave her a document, "By the way, please bring him this document when you go over."

Meredith nodded and took it over. In that case, even if someone asked her why she was there, she could say that she was just doing an errand.

Thinking about it, Meredith left the company and took a taxi to the hospital.

Soon, Meredith arrived at her destination.

With watchful eyes, she went upstairs. It wasn't until she made sure no one else was there that she knocked on the ward door.

Derek frowned, thinking that it was a nurse or doctor making other rounds, and said, "Come in." Meredith walked in and looked at the man who was sitting on the bed and flipping through some documents in his hand. "I... I have something for you."

Meredith immediately felt that it was really considerate of Damian to ask her to bring the document, or else she would be embarrassed to death now.

"Bring me something?"

Derek glanced at the document in Meredith's hand, appreciated Damian's thought, and raised the corner of his lips, "Then just give it to me.”

Meredith nodded and walked over. Caught off guard, she was caught by the arm. Losing her balance, Meredith fell right on Derek's strong chest.

"Just for that?"

Looking at Meredith whose ears reddened, Derek couldn't help but tease her. He deliberately leaned close to her ear and said in a low voice.

Meredith's body trembled at that. With sensitive ears, she felt as if there was an electric current flowing through her body as his hot breath blew onto her in such an intimate way.

"Also... come and see you."

Seeing that Derek wouldn't let her go until he heard what he wanted to hear, Meredith could only say it. However, she said it in such a low voice that it was almost impossible to hear what she was saying.

Derek heard it clearly, but the soft touch of the woman in his arms made him feel an urge not to let go of her. Thus, he put on a wicked smile and said, "I didn't hear you clearly. Say it again.” Meredith was embarrassed and angry with Derek's teasing both in his words and actions. However, the man's strength was so great that she couldn't break free. She could only say sulkily, "Come and see if you are seriously injured, okay?"

Derek raised his eyebrows and said, "Do you want me to be seriously injured or not?"

Meredith was speechless. She had never thought that Derek would be like that. Just as she was about to answer, suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"Mr. Xavier, it's time to change your dressing.”

The nurse's gentle voice came from outside the door.

"Someone's here. You can let go of me now.”

Only then did Meredith break free from Derek's grip. Her face had already turned red and now looked like a ripe apple.

Derek glanced at her bashful and angry face and felt excited. This woman had no idea how attractive she was

with that pitiful look.

"Mr. Xavier?" the nurse asked again, getting no response.

After all, Derek was the hospital's financial backer, and even if he snubbed anyone, no one would dare to snub him.

"Come in."

He was a little more inexplicably cold to the nurse who had come at the wrong time. Derek lowered his voice, suppressed his excitement, and said coldly.

Only then did the nurse come in with a smile on her face, and by the way, she pulled down the neckline of her clothes, revealing an alluring cleavage.

She had tried everything to get the chance of changing Derek's dressing. If such a man could fall in love with her and then have a romantic love story with her, wouldn't that be...

Unfortunately, as soon as the nurse walked in, she saw Meredith and her heart sank.

"Put down the medicine and go out,"

Derek ordered coldly.

The nurse didn't know what she had done to offend him, but she didn't dare to disobey his orders. She reluctantly put down the medicine in her hand and glared at Meredith before she left.

It was this woman who took away the opportunity that she had gained with lots of efforts. Meredith only felt that she was innocently involved. She knew what was going on and glanced at Derek, "Hehe, I didn't expect you to be quite popular.”

"Even in the hospital, you can have so many hot girls come for you." She thought to herself.

"Are you being jealous?”

When Derek heard her strange tone, he did not get angry and gave Meredith a playful look instead. Meredith choked at his question and stopped talking.

Derek reached out, held the bottle of anti-inflammatory ointment in his hand and said, "Come here and apply it to me."

Meredith was a little reluctant because of what happened just now, but seeing that there was a small wound on Derek's forehead which was originally as smooth as jade, and a little flaw on his perfect face was also very obvious, she got rid of her awkwardness just now.

Well... It was not because she cared about him that she did so, it was just that she wanted his perfect face to be without a flaw.

Thinking about it, Meredith walked over to him. It was a tube of imported anti-inflammatory cream, and it also had some effect on removing scars.

"Is this wound serious?"

Meredith looked at Derek. The wound was not large. Yet, it was on the head, which would cause possible unpredictable damage to the brain.

"Not."

Derek shook his head. These days, he had undergone thorough examinations, but no hidden dangers had been detected, so he could be discharged soon.

Hearing this, Meredith heaved a sigh of relief. Then she unscrewed the ointment, squeezed out a little bit on the cotton swab, and then gently held Derek's face, applying it little by little to his wound.

It had almost healed, but some fresh could still be seen. He must have been suffering a lot of pain. "Will it hurt?" Meredith tried to move as gently as possible, afraid that it would make Derek feel any pain.
