The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 130

"Just what?"

Derek asked her to continue.

Meredith took a deep breath. "I did it for my own purpose.”

She wasn't a lunatic. If it wasn't for the evidence of finding her mother's whereabouts, how could she be involved with Leo?

"For what purpose?”

Derek was clearly not satisfied with this statement. "What on earth do you want to do?"

Meredith took a deep breath. She looked into Derek's deep eyes and even forgot that they were getting too close. "If I tell you, will you believe me?"

Derek frowned imperceptibly. It was only then that he remembered that he had always sneered at what Meredith had said, had never heard them well and believed them.

Out of an indecipherable thought, he nodded. “I won't believe it until you tell me."

Meredith smiled. "If I say it wasn't me who hit you, it was Ava. It was my eighteenth birthday. She and my family tricked me into wearing that dress and letting me go for a ride in that car, will you believe me?"

For some reason, Meredith looked into his eyes and said everything.

Derek might not believe it, but at least she had a clear conscience.

Derek was silent for a moment. The topic was so shocking that his arms that put on Meredith loosened a little.

Meredith noticed this and laughed at herself.

It seemed that she was still thinking too well. Derek was so secretive about what had happened back then. How could he be willing to listen to her side of the story about the past?

Thinking about it, she got up, but Derek held her arm.

"Sit down.”

The man's voice was a little hoarse.

Even he, as a victim, had some difficulty digesting the truth of the incident.

"You mean, the person who hit me was Ava?"

How ridiculous the statement is! If it was from other people, Derek would only sneer.

However, he knew what Meredith had suffered in the Masons, and it was not impossible for these things to happen to her.

However, it was still difficult to accept. After all, if what Meredith said was true, it would be a scandal

At that time, the Xaviers had deliberately contacted someone before the sentence because they hated her for hit-and-run. Normally, the sentence for a car crash wouldn't be so severe.

Meredith looked at Derek's dark and unpredictable expression. She didn't know if Derek would believe her, but she hoped he did.

Derek met Meredith's eyes. There was a faint expectation in her eyes, a desire to be trusted.

Derek was never a soft-hearted person, but looking at Meredith now, he felt his heart ached.

"I am willing to believe you in this matter. I will find someone to investigate and prove your innocence.”

Derek said word by word, and Meredith suddenly felt a twinge of bitterness in her chest. She thought that Derek would never believe her before she overturned the verdict. Now, his simple words left her at a loss.

For Meredith, the most precious thing in the world was trust.

"I'm already looking for evidence. It won't be long before the verdict is overturned.”

Meredith said, suddenly feeling that the future was bright.

As long as she could exchange evidence from Leo, she could prove her innocence and her future would not be under the shadow all the time.

"Looking for evidence... Do you want to rely on Leo?"

Derek was so smart that he thought for a moment and realized something.

Considering that Leo was Ava's ex-fiancé, the relationship between the two was extraordinary. It was a good idea to start with him.

But...

The thought of Meredith kissing Leo the other day still made Derek's face not good.

"That's right.”

Meredith nodded, but Derek suddenly pinched her chin. "Who told you to come up with this idea? For the sake of the truth, do you really want to do something with that kind of man?"

"Of course not. It's just that the necessary sacrifices are still worth it."

Meredith said, unconvinced. It would be impossible for her to sell her body, but in order to attract Leo, some sacrifices could be tolerated.

"I won't allow it." Derek's face darkened as he thought about the scene.

She had the audacity to try to bewitch Leo with a beauty trick.

If one day that man had evil intentions and used some dirty tricks, she wouldn't even know how she died!

A playboy like Leo could easily adopt all kinds of methods.

"No, I must find out the truth.”

Meredith's stubbornness also appeared, mainly because this was the best way she could think of, and she couldn't just give up.

"I said no."

Derek looked at her without a hint of compromise. "I'll help you with this, but you can't act rashly.” Meredith couldn't win him over, and she was a little discouraged, but Derek insisted that she give him a guarantee, so she could only nod perfunctorily.

"Be good." Seeing that she no longer insisted, Derek raised the corners of his lips and kissed her wet lips. Meredith was startled and wanted to struggle, but the man grabbed her back and she couldn't move at all.

But this time, Derek's movement was so gentle, without the usual suffocating tyranny and plunder, as gentle as a feather, that Meredith's resistance was unknowingly melted.

After the kiss, Meredith gasped and blushed even more.

She wanted to ask Derek why he suddenly kissed her, but she didn't. She was afraid that she would get an answer that she didn't want to hear.

"I... It's too late. I have to go back.” Meredith stood up, a little incoherent as she tried to leave this embarrassing place.

Derek thought for a moment. "Wait here. I'll ask Damian to send you back."

Meredith wanted to refuse, but Derek insisted. "It's so late. Why don't you stay?"

He was worried about letting Meredith take a taxi alone.

Meredith was shocked. It was at night and no one was here. If Derek really told her to stay, she didn't know who she would meet.

"I'll wait for Damian."

Meredith gave in and Derek was satisfied. He called Damian over.

Not long after, Damian arrived and walked into the ward. Seeing Meredith, he was a little surprised, but it also seemed reasonable.

"Send her home. Call me when she arrives."

Derek watched Meredith obediently following Damian away, then stood up from the sofa, thinking about what Meredith had just said.

If Meredith was really just a scapegoat from the Masons, then Wesley would have to pay for his deception.
