"Asher, he says he doesn't love me anymore. What should I do?"

Chloe had been used to living a smooth life since she was a child. She had never suffered any major setbacks, whether in her studies or her feelings.

Now she was rejected by the man she liked, which made her feel as if a thousand needles were pricking her in her heart, and the pain was terrible.

Asher looked at Chloe's decadent expression, feeling a pain in his heart. He treated her as his own sister. How could he bear to see her so sad?

"I think Derek just has a grudge in his heart. You know, he is such a stubborn man. It's normal for him to feel a knot in his heart for your leaving.”

Chloe shook her head and her tears fell down. She knew it wasn't.

Derek would not lie to her. He disdained to lie to anyone, so he really didn't mind her willful leaving, and he really didn't love her anymore.

"I..." Chloe suddenly thought of something and grabbed Asher's hand, "You know who that woman is, don't you?"

She suddenly wanted to have a meet with the woman who had won Derek's heart. She wanted to see how beautiful and outstanding she was so that Derek was obsessed with her so much. "Chloe..." Asher immediately thought of Meredith in his mind, but he really didn't believe that Derek would fall in love with a woman like her seriously. "I think you're thinking too much. He's just angry. "No, you must take me to see her, Asher. Otherwise, I won't be reconciled.” Chloe wiped away her tears and stared at Asher with burning eyes.

The strong unwillingness in her heart made her spare no attention to take her acting as a genteel young lady of The Bennetts into consideration. She was just a woman who was defeated in love. Seeing that she was determined, Asher could only agree with her for the time being. At the same time, he began to worry faintly in his heart.

After resting at home for two days, Meredith went back to work.

After all, she was not obviously pregnant yet, so she felt it too lazy for herself to rest at home and get her salary easily at such an early period of pregnancy. Thus, she chose to go to work as usual. Derek had stopped making her do the cleaning up to now, so she was only responsible for tidying up the bookcase and making coffee for Derek.

Meredith was standing in Derek's office, tidying up the mess on his desk when a flurry of footsteps came from outside.

Asher brought Chloe here.

After the last time she ended up meeting with Derek in an embarrassing atmosphere, Chloe had been thinking about meeting the woman that Derek was interested in, but Asher kept saying that there was no chance. Today she begged him to bring her here.

Chloe could tell at a glance that Meredith was the one they referred to, because Derek usually had a strong sense of territory for his belongings. If other people touched his personal belongings, it would only cause him to be furious. But this woman was cleaning up his desk. The relationship between the two of them was obvious.

Chloe looked at Meredith. Today, she was wearing a uniform of Xavier Group, a white shirt and a black one-step skirt which wrapped her slightly slender body. Her fair skin was not modified by cosmetics, but looked moist and natural. In a group of exquisitely dressed office ladies, she showed another refreshing and natural style.

Chloe coldly made a judgement on Meredith in her heart, but she was not convinced. In her opinion, Meredith was not as beautiful as she was. At most, she was the clean and pure type that conformed to men’s interest.

She wondered since when Derek had preferred a woman of such kind.

"Um... Are you here to meet the boss?"

Meredith was not at ease with Chloe's gaze. She glanced at Asher with an awkward expression. She felt that these two people were not friendly.

"No, I'm here for you."

Chloe looked at Meredith and spoke confidently.

Meredith suddenly recognized who she was. It was Chloe, the woman who had been gossiped together with Derek last time.

She was in an unspeakable panic, "I don't know you. If there's nothing else, I'll leave first."

Chloe reached out and stopped her, "You don't know me, but I'm interested in learning more about you. My name is Chloe."

Seeing that she neither intended to leave nor let herself go, Meredith felt a little agitated and inexplicably remembered the photos of her and Derek.

There must be nothing good about the woman coming to her.

"I come with something very important to say. Well, let's go downstairs and have a cup of coffee. My treat.”

Chloe's tone was absolute, giving Meredith no chance to refuse.

She was curious about what the proud woman wanted to say to herself.

Both women went to the cafe together. Asher didn't want to get involved in the affair between the two women, so he waited in the company.

"What would you like to drink?" Chloe sat down gracefully with no impatience.

She just looked at Meredith's dressing and behavior. To be honest, she didn't think she was worse than this woman in any aspect.

Therefore, there was a sense of superiority in her words.

Meredith was a little unhappy. Although she was not rich now, she could afford a cup of coffee at least. Why was Chloe so pompous in front of her?

"Milk." Meredith said faintly, ordering a glass of warm milk for herself.

She was pregnant and couldn't drink coffee or tea.
