Chapter 47
Kylan watched as Jonah placed his suitcases in the bottom compartment of the bus. He then reached inside his pocket for his ticket and handed it to Kylan, observing the nervousness behind his gaze. None knew about this, not even Ella or Bradley, merely Kylan, who only told them Kylan left overseas, visiting his father's young brother. It was very untrue, and Ella did not believe that, but there was nothing she could do.
Jonah smiled weakly, Kylan's trembling lips as he fidgeted with the ticket in his palm, staring at the line to enter the bus, with the driver standing at the front. He allowed people inside, and Jonah glanced towards them, placing his palms on Kylan's shoulders.
"You'll be fine," Jonah breathed, nodding his head.
Kylan was uncertain, staring at the ticket and soon, shook his head, "I don't think I should-"
"I'll come visit you," he smiled, "and I'll pick you up after the month."
He stressfully bit his bottom lip, "I don't know if I'll get better."
"You will," he reassured, placing his lips on Kylan's forehead and holding his tightly for a moment before pulling away, "I love you."
"I love you too."
Jonah nodded his head, then took a step back, "Now go, I'll wave to you from out here."
With one last look at Jonah, he reluctantly stepped in the line to enter the bus. Once he made his way inside the bus, he found himself a seat by the window and waved a hand towards Jonah, who smiled, his eyes filling with tears as he waved back. He remembered waving to his mother the same way years ago and his brother, hence why he was used to saying goodbye to the ones he loved as they battled mental illnesses. However, he knew Kylan would return better than ever, and as the motor roar and the bus began to leave, he wiped the tear that had leaked from his eyes, knowing that it would help Kylan in the long run.
