Chapter Epilogue
Many days later, Lilian was in the swamp doing her work, when Emily arrived.
“I brought lunch, Mom!”, Emily said hugging her. “Haven’t found anyone yet?”, asked the girl.
“No… I’ll just try one more and then we’ll eat”, answered Lilian.
“Is there really anyone left who has turned into a frog, a toad, or any other animal?”, asked the girl.
“I don’t know, but I hope no one has turned into a spider. I’ve never seen so many frogs in my life, I’ve had enough of them… imagine spiders”, answered Lilian, smiling.
“You just gave me a good idea. I’ll tell the queen to make a room full of spiders and put you there to check if they are human”, said the girl.
The two smiled. Lilian picked up one of the frogs there, put it in position, whispered a few words to it, and already prepared to mark it as not being human.
However, the frog began to move, its limbs growing. Lilian and Emily looked at each other with wide eyes. The frog turned into a man.
The man groped his own face in wonder, turned to the two weeping women and said:
“I can’t believe I’m back!”.
