The Fox and The Wolf

Chapter 24: Don’t mess with me

Avery

I groaned as I rolled over trying to stop the pain in my stomach.

Yep…it’s the time of month that every girl dreads..

I lay on my side and curl my legs up into my stomach.

Nope.

I lay on my back and stretch. Bad idea. Because once I stretched, I retracted my legs and hissed in pain.

I laid on my stomach and did a small stretch.

Nope.

I curled up into a ball again and groaned.

I think I was groaning a little too loud because I hear a knock at my door.

“Come in.” I say with my face buried into the pillow.

I look up and see Ashe rubbing her eyes.

“What the hell is with all the groaning. It sounds like an animal is giving birth.” She says yawning.

“It feels like my ovaries are about to explode. I’d rather give birth than go through this.” I said through clenched teeth trying to get rid of the pain.

I saw her wince when I looked up at her. “That time of the month?”

I nodded. “It hurts so freaking bad.”

She left and went into my bathroom and came back out with two pills and a glass of water.

“Here. Take these.” She said handing it too me.

I gladly take the pills and gulp them down with the help of the water.

“Thanks Ashe.” I said giving her a small smile.

She yawns. “No problem. Now get some rest.”

I look over at the clock and see it’s 5 in the morning. Whoops.

I head to the bathroom to do my business and climb back in bed.

And since when did Jake have lady supplies in the bathroom? I should probably asked him that.

All I can think of, is that no one better piss me off. I can get mad very easily if I’m my period.

I curl up into the sheets more savoring the warmth.

I slowly open my eyes and look at the clock and saw that it read 11:47 A.M.

Wow…

After I get dressed in a pair of Jake’s sweatpants and sweatshirt, I head downstairs to get some breakfast…er uh lunch I guess.

“Morning sleeping beauty.” Ashe smirks as she hands me a cup of coffee.

“Oh shut the hell up.” I mumbled with a smile taking the coffee.

“Geez. What got your panties in a twist?” Cory teases.

I glare at him and he holds his hands up in surrender.

“It’s her time of the month.” Ashe says enjoying this way too much.

“Ew nasty.” Liam said scrunching up his nose in disgust.

“Ya. So no one piss me off today or you will be leaving with no balls attached too your body.” I threatened standing up and heading to the living room.

Ashe, Liam, and Cory follow me into the living room.

“Now remember.” Liam says sitting in the recliner. “We need to comfort her. But of she starts to growl, retreat to a safe distance and throw her chocolate so she doesn’t eat us.”

“Can’t we just lock her up in a cage so we don’t die?” Cory asked hopefully.

“You are gonna die first.” I stated glaring at him.

He smirked and I flipped him off.

Asshole..

“No we can’t lock her up in a cage. She’s like a wild animal.” Ashe said pulling me into her chest. “She needs to be treated with love and care. So don’t do anything to make her angry.”

“Ashe?” I asked getting annoyed.

“Yes?” She asks sweetly.

“Let go of me!” I shouted causing her to jump and push me a little. “Thank you.”

“Wait till alpha sees her. Oh this will be great.” Cory smirks evilly rubbing his hands together.

“Speaking of him. Is he on patrol?” I asked.

They nodded. “Along with the rest of the guys and David.” Liam said turning the tv on.

“Oh ya. How was the talk with David and your dad?”

Ashe laughed. “He came back into the room and he was as white as a ghost. I think my dad scared him a little too much.”

I chuckled. “How so?”

“He told me that my dad said if he breaks my heart, he’ll brake him. And use his wolf skin as a new rug for his house.”

“That is great. That’s what my mom said to Jake.” I giggled.

“How’s your Momma C?” Liam asked.

“Momma C?” Ashe asked confused.

“It’s my nickname for her.” Liam smiled proudly.

She rolled her eyes.

“She’s fine.” I said shrugging. “Where’s Tony, Lilly, Katie, and your dad Ashe?”

“They are all in the back yard playing soccer.” She said. “Tony loves showing off his soccer skills.” She smirked.

I laughed. “I think he likes Lilly.”

“Ya! And now every time I see him, he glares at me. And it’s not like a small glare, it’s like a full on glare. The kind where it’s like if-I-could-I-would-kill-you glare.” Liam said leaning back on the chair.

I shrugged. “That’s what you get for trying to ‘steal’ his lady.” I said putting air quotes around steal.

Liam scoffed. “I didn’t steal Lilly. She said she liked me first. Okay I admit she is completely and utterly adorable and cute. But she’s too young for me.”

“Try telling Tony that.”

“I did!” He laughed. “Once I got to the part where I admit she is cute and adorable, he honestly looked like he wanted to kill me. So I got scared and quickly said she’s too young for me. But I don’t think he cared about that part. His jaw was clenched, his eyes held anger, his face was turning a little red, and his fists were clenched. I was completely scared. I’m not gonna lie.”

I looked at him shocked. “What if Tony and Lilly are mates?” I asked.

Ashe thought about it for a moment. “It’s possible. But he hasn’t shifted yet and I still think he’s too young to even talk to his wolf yet. So I don’t know how he would know yet.”

“Actually. It’s possible.” Liam said leaning forward.

“How?” Cory asked.

“Well Jake’s parents were like that. They were both in the same pack and were childhood best friends. When his dad got around the age of 8, he told how he started getting really strong feelings towards Jake’s mom. And how he got jealous if another boy looked at her. And he also has alpha blood. So maybe the connection appeared earlier.”

“True. Because Tony’s dad was our Third.” Ashe said.

“I guess we will have to see how all this turns out.” I said smiling.

“Lllliiiiiiiiaaaaaaaammmmmmm!” I whined for the billionth time in the past hour.

“Avery. I’m not getting you icecream.” Liam said closing his eyes.

“It’s 2 o’clock. I want icecream. Please?” I begged.

“No.” He laughed shaking his head.

Just then the front door opened and came in a tired looking Jake and David.

“You guys okay?” Liam asked.

“Ya.” Jake mumbled plopping down on the couch next to me.

“Stupid rogues.” David mumbled sitting down next to Ashe.

“I want icecream.” I whined again.

The cramps were back and I was not a happy camper.

“Then go get some babe.” Jake laughed opening one eye and looking at me.

“But I don’t want too. I’m in too much pain.” I said leaning against his side, but regretted it. “Ew. You’re all sweaty.”

He laughed and nodded. “Ya. I was chasing rogues all day. And go get off you lazy butt and get some.”

I glared at him. “Don’t mess me with. I’m not a happy camper.”

“Why. What’s wrong?” Jake asked worried.

“It’s her time of the month.” Ashe said.

Jake yelped and shot from the couch and his behind the chair. “Then why is she not in a cage?!”

I growled at him and he flinched. “Thanks. Feeling the f@cking love guys.”

“Sorry babe. It’s just, dad has warned me about girls being on the periods. Mom was never pleasant to be around.” He laughed.

I sighed and leaned back.

“Should we throw her chocolate at a safe distance?” I heard David whisper.

“That’s why I said.” Liam laughed.

“I can hear you guys you know.” I glared at them.

“Sorry babe. I will go get you some icecream. I don’t want to be on your bad side today.” He smiled sweetly.

I smiled at him and he ran towards me and engulfed me in a hug.

“Mint chocolate chip please.” I asked kindly.

“Wow. She actually has a heart.” Liam said under his breath.

I growled and chucked a pillow at his head. I heard him groaned as it connected with his forehead.

“That wasn’t necessary.”

“Neither was your comment.” I shot back.

“Try not to kill each other while I’m gone.” Jake kissed my lips and grabbed the keys and walked out the door.

“No promises!” I yelled but I don’t think he heard me.

“Avery!” Katie ran into the living room with Lilly and Tony right behind her.

“Yes?” I asked her.

“We are going upstairs to play house.”

“Okay have fun.” I said waving to them.

“Help me.” Tony pleaded.

I chuckled. “You have to do it?”

He reluctantly nodded. “Lilly is making me do it.”

Lilly nodded furiously. “Yep.” She said grabbing his hand with hers.

Tony looked down at her and smiled. A slight pink taking over his cheeks.

“Ha. You deserve it.” Liam mumbled under his breath.

Tony’s head snapped up and glared at Liam before Lilly rolled her eyes and dragged him away.

“See!” Liam shouted once they walked up the stairs. “He doesn’t like me.”

“I truly thought you were kidding about he whole glare thing.” David said laughing as he put an arm around Ashe.

“Me too. Now I know you are telling the truth.” Cory teased.

“He really does hate your guts.” I smiled at him.

“Thanks Avery. Thanks for the support.” Liam stuck his tongue out at me.

“Anytime.” I smiled as Jake walked in the door.

“Here you go babe.” He said handing it to me and placing me on his lap.

“Thanks.” I kissed him and dug in.

Yum! Mint chocolate chip. My favorite!

“You missed it.” David said smiling at a pouting Liam.

“What?” Jake asked bringing his arms around me.

“Tony absolutely hates Liam. We think that since his father was a Third, that maybe the mating pull is coming into effect already. And we think that Lilly and Tony are mates. He almost killed Liam.”

“What? How?” Jake asked busting out laughing.

“Ya ya. Laugh it up.” Liam grumbled crossing his arms over his chest.

“Liam told Tony that he thought Lilly was cute and adorable, and Tony’s face was a little red and he had his jaw and fists clenched. And now he won’t stop glaring at Liam every chance he gets.” David said laughing. “Liam told Tony that Lilly was too young for him, but Tony was to angry to listen. So Liam ran out of there like a bat out of hell.”

“Damn. I miss all the good stuff.” Jake whined rubbing his face.

I giggled. “Yes you do babe.”
