Chapter 67
HENRIETTA
I had the element of surprise.
I managed to pin the Crown Prince of Veridia to the floor and snarled at him- something that I did purely out of instincts.
He was still looking at me with wide eyes due to what he had seen earlier.
at it would be
He saw me feed on blood. He saw me sink my fangs into my maidservant’s neck. Philip saw it all arid I knew at that moment that the end of me. That I had to make the decision right then and there or risk my identity.
I saw him wince when my nails dug into his neck.
“H-Henny-
“Shut your mouth,” I hissed and his eyes widened, clearly not expecting me to spout such words. Perhaps it was because of the adrenaline coursing through my system, or the fact that I just had my meal that I feel like I had to let my fury out. My emotions were still at peak as i confronted Aiden about Andreas’ whereabouts.
“What happened to you, Henny?” he asked again and I tightened my hold around his throat.
“What are you doing here?” I demanded and he went silent. “Why are you here in my house? Even as you’re the Crown Prince, this does not give you the right to barge in here-*
“You turned,” he said, ignoring what I just said. “You’re… a vampire.”
Silence hovered over us like a heavy blanket. Aiden and Dreyfus made no move to stop me or remove me from sitting on Phillip’s stomach.
“Answer my question first. What were you doing here, Your Highness?”
His frantic eyes met mine once again. “I just wanted to talk. I figured talking to you in private is the only chance I got since Andreas is always with you.”
“He’s my husband,” 1 hissed. “Whatever it is that you wish to tell me, spare it. You are a married man, Your Highness. I let go of his throat and stood in front of him. “Visiting a woman’s chambers won’t paint a very good picture.”
I looked down at him as he was still lying on the floor. Still looking at me with wide eyes.
“Does he know that you’re… a vampire?”
“Why does it matter?”
knew about yo
He swallowed hard and met my gaze. “Because if he knew you, he will capture you. – His eyes darted to where Aiden was Understanding crossed his eyes as he nodded. “He knows.”
Tangled my head, realizing the situation. Maybe it was because of the blood but I feel more cun ning than usual. Or perhaps I have always been
cun ning.
“You captured a vampire. Are you going to do the same to me, Your Highness?” I asked and his eyes widened before he shook his head.
“No, Henny, I would never do that”

“You betrayed me once. You’ll do it again.”
“Henny I regretted everything. I regreted what I did. I now realize it was a big mistake. 1-
“But I am a vampire now,” I said, crouchign in front of him. The look on his face was sickeningly familiar.
His hand reached to touch my cheeks. I almost flinched at his touch but I stopped myself and remained staring into the depths of his eyes. This was the same man I used to love a long time ago.
“I only see you. Henny. I don’t care what you are.”
I pulled away from his touch and stood. “Then you can’t tell anyone about this.
He shifted and immediately stood, standing face to face with me. He then shook his head. “I swear to my life. I swear to not tell a soul”
I nodded and when he stepped forward to pull me into an embrace, I stepped aside. My eyes darted towards the window and realized that the sun is starting to rise. It was sign of dawn approaching and as far as I know, vampires burn under the sun. But in my case, I am not a pureblooded vampire and I’ve not seen myself burn after I stood too near the window with the raging sunlight.
Philip stepped aside but before I could say something, he beat me to it.
“When can I see you again?” he asked.
“I still don’t know, Your Highness. For now, I need to retreat to my
my chamber.”
He nodded in understanding. He then looked at the Aiden, Dreyfus, Niana, and Guinevere before he went to the door, leaving us four again.
“What was that?” asked Guinevere
My eyes remained fixated on the door where Philip went. “He’s going to be the key for my redemption.” I looked at them. A faint smile tugging on my lips. “Niana, please extend my response to Lady Grace. Tell her I am coming over for her invitation for tea.”
Niana nodded and smile. Gone was the wound on his neck but the blood stains on her shirt was enough reminder of what she did to save me.
“Right away, my lady.”
I looked at Alden and Dreyfus. “I shall be going to the Suan Manor today. I need both of you do what you do best. I don’t think you would be able to get in the manor but since I am inside, I shall be the one to locate where Andreas is.
“It’s too dangerous, Lady Henrietta. There are lots of guards inside as well.”
“Then make them get out,” I said and faced them.
“What?”
I smiled. “Do whatever it is to make them come out. Don’t worry about me and Andreas.”
Aiden and Dreyfus looked at each other before they looked at me. “What exactly are you meaning to say, Lady Henrietta?”
“I’m saying that you set the house on fire to make them all come out. What do you think?”
Even Guinevere gasped at my suggestion but I waved a dismissive hand. “Like I said, don’t worry about me and Andreas and make sure everyone in the house gets out. That would be my chance to save Andreas.”
Both of them contemplated my decision and before I know it, he was finally nodded in agreement. “Very well, Lady Henrietta, We’ll do as you

say,” Aiden said with a hint of hesitation in his voice.
I
“I shall make preparations now. After all, I have to attend a tea party today.” I smiled before I turned towards my chamber.
Determination surged within me as I realized what I have to do to save Andreas from the clutches of his enemies. Pressing my back against the door, I heaved a sigh. Gone was the unrelenting hunger that does not seem to end. Gone was the gnawing inside the pit of my stomach. Indeed, animal’s blood was not enough,
As I gazed at my reflection, a sense of both awe and trepidation washed over me. Gone were the hollow cheeks and pallid complexion, replaced by a vitality that seemed to pulsate from within. The rich hues of life now painted my cheeks, and my lips, once ashen, now boasted a healthy flush.
The metallic ta ng of blood lingered on my tongue, a constant reminder of the transformation that had taken place. But instead of recoiling from the taste, I embraced it, recognizing it as a symbol of my newfound strength and resilience.
This is the new beginning. This is my new start. I have become a vampire and now I shall put it to good use by saving Andreas,
