Chapter 19
Hugo Forrester answered his phone, impatient for news after losing them at the fair. “This better be good news,” he said into his phone.
He listened and his hand tightened around the phone. “What do you mean they are headed in SIX different directions?!” he yelled. This was not going according to plan. Trying to calm himself, he took a deep breath and said, “I am not really sure I see a distinction in going six ways and going five ways and one that is stationary. It is three kids, not six, so either someone has killed them and cut them in half, which I find doubtful since you guys cannot even capture them, or obviously the trackers have been found. Get to the last location and see what you can find.”
Hugo wished that he could slam the phone down as part of this show of displeasure, but he could not get that satisfaction with a cellphone.
He sat in his SUV and thought that these kids were becoming more burdensome than necessary. It was possible that one of them might just have an accident and get hurt. Gravely hurt.
As for the other with them, well, those two were not really an issue and could be eliminated. Maybe he could take them to the facility and take some of his frustration out on them there.
Grinning at that thought, his mood lightened as he put the SUV in gear and continued his drive towards their last known position.
