Chapter 94
The Ex-Husband's Revenge By Dragonsky Chapter 94
Secretaries were generally tasked to do miscellaneous unskilled work. They lacked genuine talent and their career development prospects were not very promising
either.
Moreover, the Elegante Group was on a completely different level compared to the Wick Group's parent company, as the former was only a small subsidiary under the Young Group.
As the manager of the public relations department, Gilbert was only a whisker away from being promoted to the company's top management. It was only natural for him to look down on a lowly secretary like Leon
"Ariel and I will be discussing some important matters regarding business
cooperation. There's nothing a secretary like you can do if you stay here. I think you should step outside and wait," Gilbert said curtly.
"Sure thing." Leon shrugged it off since he never needed to have any discussion in the first place. Just as he got up and prepared to leave, Ariel grabbed his arm all of a sudden.
"To be honest, Gilbert, it was Miss Young who arranged for Mister Wolf and me to be
in charge of this negotiation. I feel that he should stay because he been tasked
with this responsibility as well..." Ariel smiled awkwardly.
Gilbert used to be her admirer whom she rejected numerous times before.
It was already awkward enough when she asked Gilbert for that favor, and she was sure that the atmosphere would become even weirder if Leon left her alone with
Gilbert.
Gilbert frowned somewhat unhappily, but it would be rather impudent of him to chase Leon out after Ariel already made that remark.
"I'd like to hear about the details of this cooperation, Ariel," Gilbert requested calmly.
"You see..." Ariel took out the relevant documents, handed them to Gilbert, and explained the company's intentions one by one.
Gilbert remained silent and flipped through the pages with one hand while tapping the table repeatedly with the fingers of his other hand.
Concerning sales channels involving cosmetics, the Wick Group chose to deal in high-end and luxury goods only. If the Elegante Group produced products of similar stature, he could help to accommodate them to some extent.
Unfortunately, the Elegante Group's cosmetics simply did not reach the required standard. Without any previous precedent involving such matters, there was little he could do to help her. "Price-wise, our company can be flexible with the profit margin by a few percentage points. I wonder if that'll be sufficient for you to help accommodate our request?" Ariel asked sincerely.
The Elegante Group's long-term development hinged on their successful
cooperation with the Wick Group, and Ariel was prepared to sacrifice some profits in exchange for a fruitful collaboration.
"I'm afraid this will be a little tricky still..." Gilbert's face seemed to suggest that he was being put in a tight spot.
"Is this too difficult even for you?" Ariel was very disappointed, and her heart grew cold in an instant.
She already anticipated the possibility that Gilbert did not have a high enough
position in the company and most likely would not be able to help, which turned out to be exactly the case
"I might still be able to help. I happen to be solely responsible for the sales channels of cosmetics. Although I don't have the authority for any final decision-making, I'm about seventy to eighty percent confiden that we can go through with this if I bring it to the general manager..." Gilbert said boldly.
That matter was far beyond his ability, and truth be told, he was not even one percent confident! However, he had no choice but to blow his horn a little so Ariel would not underestimate him!
"Really? That's great! I'll leave it to you then, Gilbert. Our company will remember your kind gesture if this cooperation turns out to be a success!"
Ariel was overjoyed.
Gilbert, however, continued, "There's something else I need to stress, Ariel." This will not be easy because your company's products don't meet our company's
requirements... I propose that we have dinner at a hotel together later this evening and talk about this in more detail."
