The Ex-Husband's Revenge By Dragonsky Chapter 100

Ariel's heart leaped to her throat too. Leon finally helped the company secure an opportunity to cooperate with the Wick Group, so it would be a real shame if the price became a stumbling block.

"Elder Wick, sir, if you're not satisfied with the price, we can reduce it by a few percentage points. However, we can only drop five percentage points at most. That's the most we will be able to compromise..." Ariel said with the utmost sincerity and brought out her trump card in good faith.

"No, you misunderstood me. I didn't mean the price was high. I think it's a bit low." Bernard smiled and shook his head.

"It's... low?" Ariel was stunned and could not believe what she heard.

She joined the workforce quite some time already, and in all the negotiations that she went through, the clients have always complained about the price being too high and would usually go all out to try and have it lowered.

It was the first time she met someone who said that the price was too low.

"Indeed. I propose that the Wick Group gives your company ten percent of the profits. What do you think of that?" Bernard suggested with a smile.

"Are you sure? That's wonderful news! Please allow me to thank you on behalf of Miss Young, Elder Wick.

Leon was overjoyed. Although he had little clue when it came to prices, it could only be good news if Bernard was willing to give up some of the profit. "This isn't some joke, is it?"

Ariel was stunned and her expression was overcome with disbelief.

She was experienced when it came to the inner workings of negotiations, unlike Leon who only had layman's knowledge. She knows that the Wick Group's profit was only about 16 percent or 17 percent at most, yet Bernard was willing to give 10 percent of the profits to Elegante Group without any conditions attached. It was akin to dropping money right into one's lap. Ariel began to doubt her worldview a little.

"Fret not, Miss Summers. My grandfather is a man of his word. He'll most certainly do what he says and he'd never joke around with you two!" Jenson said hurriedly. "Yes, I owe Mister Wolf big time, and this is the least I can do to repay him..." Bernard

nodded with a smile.

At long last, it was revealed that Bernard was doing all that out of gratitude! Ariel finally came to understand how the relationship between Leon and Bernard came about, but there was still a question lingering in her mind: what could an ordinary secretary like Leon have done to earn such profound gratitude from someone like Bernard?

"Aside from that, we're prepared to sign a three-year contract instead of the usual one-year contract, if that's agreeable with your company. We can also renew it on three-year terms in the future," Bernard added.

"We'd be happy to! Thank you so much, Elder Wick.

Leon was overjoyed and thanked the old man repeatedly.

Bernard then took out his pen and wrote down the two new terms at the end of the contract. The first was their willingness to give ten percent of the profits to the Elegante Group, and the second was to extend the contract period to three years.

Finally, Bernard signed his name, and Leon also signed it on behalf of the Elegante Group.

There were two sets of the contract, so each party held one copy.

After securing the contract, Ariel could not help but pinch her cheek and wonder if she was dreaming all along. A stinging pain jolted her and affirmed that she was not dreaming! Leon and Ariel left the hotel and got into the car.

On their way back, Ariel could no longer control her curiosity and asked him, "Leon, how did you and Elder Wick know each other? And what kind of favor did you do for

him?"

"It's nothing. I have some medical knowledge, and Elder Wick passed out during his morning exercise a couple of days ago. I happened to be there, so I saved him..."
