The Enigmatic Return Chapter 56

Chapter 56

Neera slept for two hours, then woke up. She felt so much better, but alright, she still

felt dizzy. She went downstairs to get some water. Harvey had been waiting for her in

the living room, and he went straight to her when he saw her. “Mommy, are you feeling

better?”

“Yes, baby, thanks for asking.” She suddenly realized the bandage on his leg, and she

got serious. She put the cup on the table and squatted down to check on him. “What’s

wrong? How did you get yourself injured?” She lifted his pants to have a proper look.

“I’m fine; I accidentally fell down. Don’t worry about me.” He quickly told her what

happened in the afternoon. Neera blamed herself for not being there for him and Pixie.

I’m such a bad mother! How could I be sleeping during a crisis like this?

Harvey knew what she was thinking when he looked at her facial expression. He

hugged her and said, “Mommy, it’s okay. You’re tired, so I didn’t wake you up The two of

us are fine, thanks to Mr. handsome!”

She heard his words, and she thought of the man next door. She pursed her lips. I’ll

remember and return the favor! And I should ask someone to build a fence around the

lake for the dogs and the triplets’ safety. I don’t want any accidents to happen anymore.

She took out her phone, wanting to make an appointment with the professional for the task. But she saw Isabella send her a text message an hour ago. “Neera, luckily you

went back earlier. The people from the Beauvort family came searching for you in the

hospital! And they wanted to get the surveillance footage. Luckily, I stopped them! I’m

keeping my promise to you.”

Neera’s heart sank seeing it; she did not expect them to be still after her. She knew that

she had officially offered this family. She typed quickly and replied, “Thanks Bell! Please

keep this secret and don’t sell me out!”

Isabella replied instantly, “Hey, why are you thanking me? I’m not going to tell anyone.

But I think Mr. Beauvort was furious. For sure, he will keep looking for you. His family

should be able to find you sooner or later.

“Neera, why don’t you just take up the job? Mr. Beauvort might be quite sick, but he’s

not someone you want to mess with. Whoever offended him ended up badly… Why

don’t you take his money and save him? It’s a good deal!”

Neera was helpless hearing her suggestion; if it were not for Alfonso and his wife and

daughter, she would not be rejecting this opportunity. But she refused to suddenly have

a fiancé, and then she had to take up the responsibility to treat him! She could not tell

the truth, so she said, “I’ve got a more urgent case, so I can’t spare any time to heal

him.”
