The Enigmatic Return Chapter 33
Chapter 33
Neera went to the research center and talked to the people there. After that, she went
to Grace Hospital.

Isabella was overjoyed when she received Neera’s phone call. She quickly went to the
lobby to meet her.
“You’re finally back in Kingsview, Neera! I miss you so much!” Isabella exclaimed
excitedly and hugged Neera tightly.
The last time they met each other was before Neera left the country. Isabella had asked
Neera to come back several times, but Neera never agreed to it.
Now that Neera had suddenly appeared before her without any prior warning, she could
not help but say angrily, “Why didn’t you come back to Kingsview and visit me for so
many years? I might have forgotten about you! Do you still think of me as a friend?”
Neera knew that Isabella was only teasing her. She took her hands and smiled.
“If I hadn’t considered you a friend, I wouldn’t have come to look for you only a few days
after I permanently returned,” she said.
They went to Isabella’s office and chatted.
After the initial pleasantries, Isabella said, “I’ve been trying to get you to come back to
Kingsview, but you’ve always refused. What made you come back this time? Did
something happen?”
Neera did not hide her objectives from Isabella. “I’ve returned to help my aunt manage
her research center in Kingsview. Also… I want to reclaim the shares that my mother
left for me.”
Isabella knew how messed up Neera’s family situation was. She nodded and said, “Yes.
That’s what they owe you, and you should take what rightfully belongs to you. But does
that mean you’ll be moving to Kingsview permanently though? That’s great! Why don’t
you come and work in my hospital whenever you’re free?’
Neera initially declined, but Isabella was not having any of it.
“I don’t care! I’ve saved a position for you. You’ve rejected me enough times while you’re
in Essley, but now that you’re back, I’m not going to let you get away! Also, I need to ask
you for a big favor…”
Neera knew that Isabella would not drop the topic if she did not agree, so she nodded
and said, “Alright, alright, I’ll listen to what you say. What do you need from me?”
“I have a patient with a major brain tumor that needs to be removed. The chances of
success for the operation is estimated to be less than 30 percent…” Isabella began to
explain her situation to Neera.

“You should know that I’m from a family of doctors, right? The infighting has been very
intense over the past two years. My father has been gradually marginalized, and he’s
about to lose control of this hospital to my cousin! This operation will be my last
chance of saving my father. If I succeed, I’ll be the future hospital director, but if I fail…”
Neera understood what Isabella wanted to say, even though she did not finish her
sentence.
If the operation failed, Isabella would be out of contention in the fight for the hospital’s
control.
“It is a doctor’s duty to save lives, and I’d rather not be involved in politics, but this
hospital is my father’s life’s work, and I don’t want it to fall into someone else’s hands!”
Neera felt sorry for Isabella. She could imagine how many adversaries she had to face
from her own family.
“I didn’t know you were facing such a serious problem. Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
she said.
Isabella smiled wryly. “I didn’t want to trouble you, but I don’t have any other choice… Also, you’re the only doctor who can raise the chances of success of this operation to
be above 60 percent.”
Neera nodded and agreed to it without a second thought. “Don’t worry. I will help you

with the operation.”
Isabella’s eyes welled up with tears of gratitude. “You’re so nice to me, Neera. Thank
you!”
Neera squeezed her hand and smiled warmly. “You don’t have to thank me. I’m always
grateful for what you did for me.”
Six years ago, when Neera was locked in the research laboratory, Isabella was the one
who saved her and her children.
Neera practically owed Isabella her life. That was why she would do everything she
could to help Isabella.
The two women continued to discuss the patient’s condition. Isabella handed Neera
the medical records and related documents.

“These are the complete medical records of the patient. You can browse through them
whenever you’re free,” Isabella said.
Neera nodded and said. “Alright. I’ll take a look at them after I get home.”
Isabella thought for a while before asking for Neera’s permission. “Also, I’d like to
announce to the public that the legendary Dr. Nancy will be performing the operation. Is
that okay? That way, I can convince my elders to let me handle this operation!”

Neera accepted the idea. After all, she would be wearing a surgical mask, and no one
would know who she was!
After deciding on the matter, Neera left Isabella’s office with the documents.
When she arrived home, the triplets surrounded her excitedly.

Harvey took Neera’s briefcase from her hand and placed it away. “Mommy, is your work
going smoothly?”
Neera’s heart melted when she saw the three adorable children. She smiled and
nodded. “Mm, it’s going smoothly.”
-Sammy held a game controller in one hand. He took Neera’s hand with his other hand
and led her to the sofa. “You must be tired, Mommy. Why don’t you rest for a while?”
Penny climbed up the sofa and curled in her lap. “Mommy, did you visit Godmother
earlier? Why didn’t she come here with you?”
Neera cuddled the little girl and smiled.
“She’s still busy now. I told her to come and visit you three whenever she’s free.”
“Yay!” The triplets cheered. “We haven’t seen her for so long. We miss her!”
Neera cooked lunch for the triplets. After lunch, she took the children to their rooms for

their afternoon nap before sitting down on the sofa to study the patient’s medical
records.

At the same time, Isabella announced that Dr. Nancy would be performing an operation
at Grace Hospital.
When lan knew about it, he immediately reported it to Jean.
Jean was working in his office. He turned his head to look at lan and said, “Is the
information reliable?”
